Jun Huolan was also startled by the aura emanating from Mo Yunzhu. This aura was one of killing intent—something impossible to possess without having taken a life. Moreover, this woman’s aura was intense, suggesting she had killed not just one or two people!

Yet what he knew was that this woman had never left the capital, had never killed anyone, and at most had gone out hunting. She was a simple, carefree young lady. What on earth was going on?

“You say this prince framed you? What do you mean by that?” Lan Wang tried his best to remain calm.Full novel: The Fierce Medical Consort: Seizing the World with the Crippled Prince — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Mo Yunzhu, however, released Haojiang and put away her dagger, causing Lan Wang to freeze momentarily. Haojiang also gave her a strange look.

“Don’t look at me like that. If I could kill you once, I could kill you a second time. This is my sincerity—I’m here to seek justice, not to kill.”

Mo Yunzhu rolled her eyes at the bewildered Haojiang.

“Miss Mo truly hides her depths well,” Jun Huolan remarked, completely unable to read Mo Yunzhu, yet feeling a hint of admiration in his heart.

“You flatter me, Lan Wang. You are far more formidable than I am—you’ve been biding your time and planning for ten years.”

Jun Huolan: “…!”

She actually knew?

Ignoring the twitching muscles on his face, Mo Yunzhu continued, “At the banquet in Taizifu that day, my second sister bribed my maid to drug me. However, that actually suited my intentions. To be honest, I didn’t want to marry the Crown Prince!

But my reluctance is one thing. You, Lan Wang, seized the opportunity to tie me to you, forcing me to marry into Lan Wangfu. Why?”

“This prince is also a victim! How can you be sure this prince seized the opportunity?” Jun Huolan immediately retorted, though his heart was pounding nervously.

Mo Yunzhu laughed. “I couldn’t be certain without taking your pulse, but now, I doubt any wine could render you unconscious, Your Highness.”

Jun Huolan instantly realized how terrifyingly clever this woman was. Any rebuttal from him would be futile.

“Still unwilling to admit it?” Mo Yunzhu sat down, poured herself some tea, and drank it as if she were in her own home.

Jun Huolan finally rose from the couch, stood up, straightened his robes, and limped over to sit in the chair beside Mo Yunzhu.

“Haojiang, bring the flower tea brought back from Chen Guo for Miss Mo to taste,” Jun Huolan said calmly.

“No more pretending?” Mo Yunzhu chuckled, looking at his frail appearance, as if a gust of wind could blow him over.

Jun Huolan turned to look at her. At this moment, Mo Yunzhu appeared to him as radiant as a flower, playful and charming, causing him to feel momentarily dazed.

“Pretending is useless in front of Miss Mo,” Jun Huolan replied, slightly embarrassed, and averted his gaze. “But don’t misunderstand, Miss Mo. Initially, this prince truly didn’t know your second sister would plot against you.

The scoundrel she originally prepared for you was a carriage driver. This prince simply couldn’t stand by and watch, so I stepped in personally.”

Upon hearing this, Mo Yunzhu understood why Mo Huaiqing had looked so confused earlier—the carriage driver had turned into Lan Wang.

Anger flared in her heart. How malicious Mo Huaiqing had been toward the original host!

She was somewhat grateful that a handsome man like Lan Wang had volunteered.

“So, should I thank you, Lan Wang?” Mo Yunzhu said sarcastically.

“Ahem, no need for thanks. This prince also had his own motives,” Jun Huolan replied, his expression darkening and his tone turning serious.

“You have ambitions? With that broken body of yours? Prince Lan, you should know your limits. The poison in your system isn’t just one kind—you’re using poison to fight poison. But even so, you won’t last more than six months. Is six months enough for you to accomplish your schemes?”

Mo Yunzhu spoke bluntly and without courtesy.

Jun Huolan was instantly shocked as he looked at Mo Yunzhu, his eyes widening as if he had seen a ghost.

“Also, you schemed to involve me—that’s ruthless. You want a beauty like me to become a widow in six months? If what you’re plotting is dangerous, won’t I end up losing my head along with you, or even drag the entire General’s Mansion down with me? Tell me, you don’t have a grudge against our General’s Mansion, do you?”

Mo Yunzhu stared back at him, her pretty face devoid of any smile, even appearing sinister.

“No, cough, cough…” Jun Huolan was once again provoked by her words, immediately breaking into a fit of coughing, gasping for breath. Suddenly, he spat out a mouthful of blood with a pfft, his face turning paler than paper.

He quickly tapped several points on his chest with his fingers, then hurriedly fished out a small jade vial from his waist.

“Prince!” Haojiang, who had brought the floral tea, rushed over in alarm. “What happened?” He hastily poured a cup of water for Jun Huolan.

Just as Jun Huolan was about to take the medicine, Mo Yunzhu snatched the vial from his hand, opened it, and sniffed. “More poison?”

With that, she flung the vial forcefully to the ground.

It shattered upon impact, and several black pills rolled out, emitting a fishy odor.

“You!” Jun Huolan’s handsome face twisted in extreme displeasure. He abruptly stood up and lunged at her.

Mo Yunzhu swiftly retreated, but she still underestimated Jun Huolan’s strength. In the next moment, his hand was around her neck, gripping it tightly.

“Mo Yunzhu, I admit I misjudged you, but my affairs are none of your business!”

Jun Huolan’s face was now as pale as a ghost’s, his dark eyes filled with coldness, and his deep purple lips made him look like a vampire.

Mo Yunzhu was also utterly shocked inside. She never expected that she, a highly skilled special forces military doctor, would be subdued in a single move by this sickly man!

Neili was truly something remarkable—unfortunately, she didn’t possess it.

Though caught off guard, she wasn’t about to sit idly by. Silver needles shot out from her hand, piercing Jun Huolan’s arm that was gripping her neck with lightning speed.

Jun Huolan’s arm instantly went numb, losing all strength.

Mo Yunzhu broke free, leaving Jun Huolan stunned, his eyes wide with shock. Then, killing intent gathered in his gaze as he prepared to attack with his other hand.

“Enough! We are not enemies!” Mo Yunzhu stepped back, her eyes sharp as knives, and said irritably, “I can detoxify you. Why are you still taking poison?”

“What?” Haojiang, hearing this, looked at his master in disbelief.

Jun Huolan glared at her, suddenly clutched his chest, staggered back to his seat, and coughed a few more times. His hand trembled so violently as he held the teacup that he had to set it down.

It was as if the swift, imposing man from moments ago was not him at all.

Mo Yunzhu rubbed her neck and stared at Jun Huolan, her pretty face as cold as ice.

Haojiang quickly offered the floral tea, trying to flatter her. “Miss Mo, please soothe your throat first.”

Mo Yunzhu sat down, took a deep breath, and then leisurely sipped her tea, watching as Haojiang picked up the poison pills and placed them back into the vial.

“Miss Mo, you… what you just said, is it true? You can help the Prince detoxify?” Haojiang asked after glancing at his master, who seemed somewhat shaken.

Mo Yunzhu’s voice was chilly as she said, “The imperial decree has been issued. If the marriage alliance were truly canceled, where would the emperor’s dignity be? Even if I were unwilling, I could only become Lan Wangfei!”

“If you truly became Taizifei, I’m afraid you wouldn’t be much better off than a widow.” Jun Huolan raised his eyes to look at her, noticing that the numbness in his arm had quickly subsided again—truly miraculous.

Mo Yunzhu narrowed her eyes sharply. What did this fellow mean by that remark?

Could his ambitions… be that far-reaching?

“Princess Consort, if you can help the Prince detoxify, then you won’t have to become a widow!” Haojiang, quick-witted, immediately spoke sweetly.

“Cough, cough, cough…” Jun Huolan looked at Haojiang. Since when had this guy become so slick?

“Stretch out your hand.” Mo Yunzhu said irritably to Jun Huolan, “Since I can’t become Taizifei, and I don’t want to be a widow either, and since you bear no grudge against the General’s estate, then you must not die. I will help you, but from now on, you must stop drinking poison!”

Jun Huolan’s heart trembled slightly. Could it be that she intended to cure him so they could be a normal couple?

As he pondered this, his hand instinctively stretched out.

“Jun Huolan, I can save you, but I have conditions.” Mo Yunzhu looked up at him, speaking these words with great seriousness.

“The poison can really be detoxified?” Jun Huolan was taken aback for a moment before asking this question.

“You have multiple poisons in your body. The original poison must have been administered a long time ago, deeply penetrating your internal organs. Initially, you could use Neili to expel the toxins, but later, when you could no longer force them out, you began using poison to counteract poison. Am I correct?”

“Indeed. I was poisoned before being sent to Chen Guo as a Zhizi.” Jun Huolan’s words caused Mo Yunzhu’s hand to tremble slightly.
