Barry had a surprisingly fun and quiet week with Felicity.
Thankfully, no meta’s had disturbed them during that time.
Felicity, however, was caught between happiness and distress—happy to finally spend time with her beloved, but distressed because she could hardly handle him on her own.
Their nightly activities were undeniably fun, but by morning she was always left a mess.
Barry, for his part, constantly restrained himself so as not to hurt her.
It was one of the many reasons Felicity found herself drawn into a polyamorous relationship—one partner simply wasn’t enough to keep up with Barry.
Before leaving, Felicity shared a private talk with Caitlin—something Barry remained unaware of.
Meanwhile, Barry had used the downtime to rest, but soon enough, he was back on his grind.
His project to create a device capable of stabilizing omega radiation was still incomplete, which meant he had to keep absorbing raw, unfiltered energy—a process that consumed time and endurance.
Through experimentation, Barry discovered that by using omega radiation, he could exponentially increase his powers.
At full capacity, he could even quadruple his abilities, though gathering enough radiation for that boost took an exhausting amount of time.
He decided to call this ability the Omega Force.
Aside from that, Barry was nearly fully accustomed to training under fifteen times Earth’s gravity.
Now, he knew it was time to push his limits further.
Weeks rolled by without any major incident.
Criminals across Central City had grown wary—stories of a mysterious blur, a streak of lightning appearing out of nowhere to stop crimes, had spread everywhere.
For now, most had chosen to stay in hiding, waiting for the right time to strike.
Bar
Barry sat at the bar with Caitlin, Cisco, Eddie, and Iris.
In front of him were bottles and glasses—scotch, Ciroc, a couple shots of Jack Daniels, and Hennessy.
He’d already had more than enough to knock anyone else under the table, yet he didn’t feel the slightest buzz.
He looked up as Iris walked over.
While Eddie was playing his turn of darts
“I’m glad you invited Caitlin and Cisco,” she said warmly.
“They’re good people,” Barry replied, nodding toward the two.
“They saved your life, Barry.
That makes them the coolest people I’ve ever met.” Iris smiled and poured herself a shot.
“It’s nice you became friends.”
Barry gave a faint smile and raised his glass.
“To friends—old and new.”
They clinked glasses.
Iris soon drifted back to Eddie, Barry went to Caitlin and Cisco.
Barry downed another shot
“Slow down there buddy… at this rate you’re gonna knock yourself out” Cisco said looking at him drinking alcohol like water
“Alcohol has no effect on me.
I already had a high tolerance before.
Now, with my metabolism… it’s impossible for me to get drunk.” Barry explained, downing another shot
Cisco laughed, shaking his head.
“For real, Guess we finally found a downside to having powers.”
“Well, if you can’t drink, I’ll help you out,” Caitlin teased, throwing back her own shot.
Barry chuckled softly.
He didn’t like drinking, not really—but he stayed with them, more for the company than the alcohol.
“I’ll get more shots,” Cisco said, sliding off his stool.
Barry glanced at Caitlin.
“Darts?”
“Sure,” she said, finishing her glass before following him to the dartboard.
Moments Later
Cisco returned, balancing a tray of fresh drinks.
He stopped when he saw Caitlin laughing, cheeks flushed, while Barry stood nearby with a small shrug, clearly innocent of whatever had made her react.
“How about the loser takes a shot” Cisco proposed the game seeing Barry and Caitlin playing
“Youre on” Caitlin taunted, she was nearing drunk
They played a few rounds with mostly Caitlin winning, while Barry and Cisco shot up.
Barry was fine but Cisco got more and more drunk, they were stopped when Eddie’s phone buzzed.
His expression became a little serious.
“There was a bombing on 8th and Pass.”
Barry, Caitlin, and Cisco exchanged a quick look.
Eddie kissed Iris on the cheek.
“I gotta go, babe.”
“Okay,” Iris said softly.
She picked up her purse and turned to Barry.
“I’ve got an early shift at Jitters.
We’ll catch up tomorrow.”
Cisco and Caitlin looked at Barry who shook his head “It won’t take long” Barry whispered.
8th and Pass
Barry zipped through the streets of Central City before stopping on a rooftop across from the burning building.
Flames raged inside, and a window washer clung desperately to his suspended platform, calling for help.
He entered super-speed, Violet-gold lightning trailing up the side of the building.
In an instant, Barry caught the man and placed him safely on the ground.
Then, without hesitation, he rushed back inside.
Spinning his arms at super speed, Barry created a powerful wind funnel, sucking the air out and diffusing the fire.
By the time the police arrived, The Flash had already handled the situation.
Barely few seconds had passed, and Barry was already on his way back.
Bar
Barry returned in less than a minute, carrying some snacks he had grabbed on the way.
“Dude, you’re a crime-fighting machine,” Cisco said, high-fiving him.
“Your speed… it’s like there’s no limit.
Last time, when you got those bombs out, you clocked at Mach 5,” Caitlin added, her excitement clear.
“Mach 5?” Barry raised a brow.
Looks like I held back.
He remembered going faster than what he’d shown, but he wasn’t exactly sure.
“Cisco have you seen the schematics I sent you” Barry asked Cisco
“Yeah” Cisco nodded “Are you going to add an HUD”
“Yes” Barry nodded
“Leave it to me” Cisco patted his chest
“I can handle it” Barry said
“It’s my suit” Cisco retorted
“I can consider it calling our suit” Barry shrugged
They kept playing and drinking until late into the night.
By the time the clock ticked past midnight, Barry decided to call it a day.
Cisco was completely drunk, barely able to walk, while Caitlin was tipsy but still a little steadier.
Barry hailed a cab and helped Cisco inside.
He couldn’t run him home—Cisco’s equilibrium was a wreck from all the alcohol.
Handing the driver some cash along with Cisco’s address, Barry paid upfront and sent them off.
“How are you feeling?” Barry asked, turning to Caitlin.
“I’m a little drunk, but I can manage,” she said, her voice slurring slightly.
Even so, Barry didn’t feel right letting her go home alone.
“Let me drop you off,” Barry offered.
“Well, aren’t you going to be late if you come with me?” Caitlin asked, her words hazy.
Barry gave her a look.
“Did you forget who I am?” He smiled, amused at her drunken forgetfulness.
“Oops, hehehe, I completely forgot,” Caitlin laughed, playfully slapping his arm.
Barry just smiled at her antics.
Then suddenly, Caitlin looped her arms around his neck.
“What are you doing?” he asked, caught off guard.
“Aren’t you going to swoosh me back home?” she asked, staring at him with an innocent, almost childlike expression.
“Okay, fine,” Barry said with a sigh.
She wasn’t nearly as wasted as Cisco, so she should be able to handle the ride.
Slipping one arm behind her back and the other beneath her legs, Barry lifted her with ease.
“Wooo, you’re so strong~” Caitlin giggled, running her hand along his arm, feeling his biceps.
Barry shook his head, still smiling, before tapping into the Speed Force.
Violet-gold lightning sparked, and the world slowed to a crawl.
In the blink of an eye, Barry disappeared from the street with Caitlin in his arms.
Within seconds, they stopped right outside her apartment.
Barry set Caitlin down gently, steadying her as she stumbled a little before regaining her balance.
“We’re here already?” she asked, blinking in surprise.
The sudden shift seemed to have sobered her up slightly.
“Yes.
This is your place, right?” Barry asked—it was his first time seeing where she lived.
“Yeah, it is… and that was fast.
Pfft, who am I talking to?
You’re the Flash,” she teased, making Barry chuckle.
Then, with a sudden shift in tone, Caitlin looked at him curiously.
“By the way… do you wanna come in?” she asked,
“Come in… sure,” Barry nodded.
Barry stepped into her apartment.
It wasn’t big, but not small either — just right.
Caitlin had kept everything neat, books and medical journals stacked in order, a small corner turned into a personal lab.
“Don’t just stand there… come on.
I need something to soak up all that alcohol… wait for me to change,” Caitlin said, her walls lowered a little by the alcohol.
Barry sat on the sofa, his mind racing at super-speed, calculating all the possibilities.
He wasn’t sure how he should proceed, overthinking every outcome.
“Barry!
Barry, can you come in here?” Caitlin’s voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
Barry got up almost mechanically, walking toward her room, still confused.
He stepped inside and found Caitlin standing with her back to him, struggling.
“Barry, can you help me with this zipper?
It’s stuck,” she said, trying to reach the back of her dress.
Barry exhaled, realizing he was overthinking.
Of course…
“Yeah, wait—let me help you,” Barry said gently.
He pinched the zipper and tugged, but it caught.
Applying a bit more pressure, he pulled it down, the dress loosening as the zipper slid all the way.
Her smooth, flawless back came into view.
“Oh—sorry,” Barry said quickly, realizing he’d pulled harder than intended.
“It’s okay,” Caitlin replied softly.
She turned, holding the front of her dress against her chest, her eyes locking with his.
The air shifted.
Neither of them moved at first, just staring into each other’s eyes.
Then Caitlin rose slightly on her toes and pressed her lips to his.
Barry froze for half a second, then instinctively wrapped his hands around her waist, pulling her closer, kissing her back with growing intensity.
Their lips parted and met again, this time deeper, tongues brushing, heat building between them.
After a long, breathless kiss, Barry pulled back slightly, his forehead resting against hers.
“Cait… are you sure about this?” His voice was low, serious — because if she said yes, he wouldn’t be able to walk away.
Instead of answering with words, Caitlin slowly released her hand that was holding her dress up.
The fabric slipped and fell, baring her chest to him completely.
“I want this,” she whispered, her eyes never leaving his eyes.
Barry didn’t hold back.
His hands slid up her back, feeling the smoothness of her skin, and he deepened the kiss until both of them had to gasp for air.
He picked her up effortlessly, her legs wrapping around his waist as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
And then, the night swallowed the rest.
Next Morning
Caitlin’s Apartment
It was already eight in the morning, sunlight pouring through the windows and flooding Central City with its golden blaze.
“Mmnnn~” Caitlin let out a soft moan as her eyes fluttered open.
Her gaze drifted to the other side of the bed—empty.
She blinked at the vacant spot for a few seconds, then her eyes shot open wide.
Memories from last night came rushing back, vivid and undeniable.
The way she had leaned in first, kissing him with heat and hunger.
The way Barry had answered her passion with his own.
The way they had given in completely—to lust, to longing, to something far deeper.
And she remembered it all.
She wanted to blame it on the alcohol, but she couldn’t.
Maybe she’d been tipsy when she kissed him—but once things escalated, once they truly crossed the line, she had been fully sober.
Every kiss, every touch, every breath—they were burned into her memory.
And the truth?
It wasn’t just good.
It was unlike anything she’d ever experienced.
Her body still hummed with the echoes of it.
Using superpowers during sex is cheating, she thought with a frustrated groan, burying her face in her hands.
But the deeper question lingered, heavy in her chest: What now?
She’d crossed a line she thought she never would.
And while she didn’t regret it, she also couldn’t stop the old fear from gnawing at her—that heartbreak always followed her happiness.
