Hua Sheng hadn’t anticipated this twist. He subconsciously shrank back, but Zuo Xingyun pressed down on him, giving Hua Sheng no way to fend him off as he squatted right back down into the pile of clothes.
“You.” Hua Sheng’s驚奇 didn’t even have time to voice his shock before Zuo Xingyun pounced like a ravenous wolf and sealed his lips. He gripped Hua Sheng’s jaw, forcing him to tilt his head back and submit to his aggressive, overbearing plunder.
“You, you damn well have lost your mind. Stop… Stop kissing.” Hua Sheng grabbed Zuo Xingyun’s clothes and pushed outward, but Zuo Xingyun’s strength was not something an ordinary mortal like him could shake. As a result, his struggling only caused Zuo Xingyun to press even closer.
“You really are crazy.”
“No, no. Let me go.”
Zuo Xingyun kissed him while studying Hua Sheng’s expression. Unable to bear such an intensely direct gaze, Hua Sheng shyly squeezed his eyes shut.
The intruder’s nimble tongue stirred Hua Sheng’s sweet, damp mouth, producing a thick, wet sound.
In the hidden, cramped corner of the wardrobe, this act gave Hua Sheng a forbidden, taboo thrill. It felt as though his older brother were still right outside, separated only by a door, while he was in the middle of a wild French kiss with a strange man. All it took was a single glance back or a push of the door, and they would be caught in the middle of this outrageous act.
He was growing short of breath, a flush of desire creeping up the tips of his ears and spreading across his skin.
“Stop, stop sucking.” Hua Sheng’s embarrassed tone was soft and sweet, sounding half like a plea and a half like a fierce command. “If you keep kissing, I’ll bite your tongue right off.”
Zuo Xingyun simply cupped the back of his head, gently nibbling on his dodging tongue and sucking outward with slight force, pulling Hua Sheng’s tongue tip out. A wealth of saliva spilled from the corners of his half-open mouth down to his chin, dampening Zuo Xingyun’s long, elegant fingers.
Hua Sheng’s cheeks turned crimson from a mix of bashful anger and oxygen deprivation. He tried to suppress this strange excitement, but instead felt his entire body grow burning hot and his mouth dry.
The strength in his hands gripping Zuo Xingyun’s collar gradually faded, and Hua Sheng’s struggling turned ambiguous, even changing the pitch of his moans.
He couldn’t understand what was happening to him. How could kissing someone he hated feel so comfortable?
Though he desperately wanted to deny it, this sudden, surging wave of emotion was giving him genuine pleasure.
Buried inside Zuo Xingyun’s clothes, he was left completely dizzy by the crisp, refreshing scent radiating from him.
Hua Sheng thought in a hazy daze: Thank goodness it is not my heat cycle right now, or this would have turned into a massive disaster!
Though things weren’t looking much better either way; Zuo Xingyun’s pheromones had suddenly turned overwhelmingly dense, far more dominant than any alpha he had ever known.
Since Hua Sheng’s resistance had dwindled to almost nothing, Zuo Xingyun boldly drove straight in, sliding half his body into the wardrobe to make intimate contact. He tasted Hua Sheng’s clumsy, youthful reactions with his lips and tongue, feeling an unprecedented sense of happiness. It felt as though he had spent the last eighteen years simply waiting to be born for this exact moment.
Under Zuo Xingyun’s unhurried guidance, Hua Sheng slowly began to return the kiss, even chasing after him when his tongue pulled back.
Hua Sheng kept his eyes squeezed tightly shut, hearing only the sound of his own pounding heartbeat. The bizarre changes sweeping through his body felt entirely novel to him; Zuo Xingyun’s kisses made his tailbone tingle with numbness, as though all the strength in his limbs was gradually draining away with every embrace.
When Zuo Xingyun pulled back slightly, Hua Sheng remained with his mouth half-open, a sliver of his red tongue peeking out, looking like a complete fool who had just been bullied past his limits.
“Starting to feel it now, little Peanut?”
Zuo Xingyun blew a soft breath against Hua Sheng and chuckled. “Hua Sheng, did I make you feel good?”
With a dazed look in his eyes, Hua Sheng heard his voice, and his consciousness slowly trickled back.
The moment he processed what was happening, he shoved Zuo Xingyun away and scrambled out of the wardrobe. “Get lost, get lost, get lost, get lost!”
Hua Sheng’s temper was harder to predict than the weather. No one could have guessed that the person who had been melting in a daze inside his arms a second ago would suddenly explode and shove him away with fierce hostility.
Zuo Xingyun stumbled back a couple of steps and looked up at him.
Hua Sheng’s expression was even uglier than before, laced with an unspeakable sense of guilt.
Without a second word, he grabbed the clothes beside him and hurled them straight at Zuo Xingyun.
“You are simply out of your mind, incredibly bold, wildly reckless, utterly shameless!” Hua Sheng actually managed to spit out a whole string of idioms fluently, and used them all in the correct context. “I have never seen anyone like you in all my life. Crap! You really are sick! What are you kissing for? All that gooey, sticky crap is disgusting!”
Zuo Xingyun caught the clothes thrown at him and instinctively muttered a defense. “But you were also…”
“Shut up!” A white sweater flew through the air with a thwack, landing squarely over his head.
Hua Sheng picked up the next neatly folded scarf and threw it like an outlet for his rage. “What do you mean by telling him I am not there when I am? What was the point of talking nonsense? What study assistance group? I already told you that method does not work! You should have just said I was out, why did you have to add a whole paragraph at the end? What was that about: ‘I hope you can come to my house and into my bedroom to study.’ What are you trying to do?! Do you want to commit trespassing? Do you think you have not caused enough trouble, or do you think my life is not miserable enough?”
Zuo Xingyun pulled the scarf off his head, followed by the white sweater, and good-naturedly folded them to stack on the bed.
Hua Sheng finally managed to yank his legs free. The clothes in the wardrobe had been thrown into a chaotic mess, and he took a massive stride forward to step out.
Zuo Xingyun remained completely silent, his face etched with a strange, undeserved dejection that made him look rather wronged.
“What is that look supposed to mean? Planning to stay silent, huh? Let me tell you, you helped me today and I am grateful for that, but that study group nonsense does not count, and neither does tutoring at my house. When the time comes, I will just make up some excuse to tell my brother that the whole thing fell through and that you went to tutor someone else. Let us just turn the page immediately.” Hua Sheng went to pull his school uniform zipper up, but it jammed halfway. He put his entire back into hauling it upward, and with a sharp jerk, the zipper broke off completely.
“Damn it, why is my luck so terrible today?” Hua Sheng muttered under his breath with furrowed brows, picking up the broken metal piece from the floor.
He stared at it for three seconds, let out a heavy sigh, and muttered, “Forget it, I will just change into another. What is that expression? Why are you… why are you looking at me like that?”
Hua Sheng glanced over casually and saw Zuo Xingyun staring at him with intense focus, looking exactly like the family Border Collie staring at a roasted chicken leg in his hand.
Zuo Xingyun took a step forward. Feeling as though he were facing a formidable enemy, Hua Sheng immediately turned tail and ran. With a nimble vault, he leaped over the small bed and landed right by the door.
He reflexively grabbed one of Zuo Xingyun’s books, rolled it into a cylinder, pointed it at him, and put on a bluff. “What are you doing? Thinking about throwing punches again? I am telling you, no more fighting, I am not fighting you anymore. And I am not going to bother you ever again either. Let us call it even today. I am just going to pretend I got bitten by a dog. Ahem, fine! As for Dazhi’s business, I will ask him about it later. We are calling it quits for today, I am going home.”
He twisted the double-locked door handle, but the moment he turned it, Zuo Xingyun slammed a palm against the door and pressed it shut again.
Hua Sheng’s heart gave a violent jolt, his face turning pale as he stiffly rotated his neck.
“Listen, buddy, stop messing with me. If my brother gets home and cannot find me, I am still going to…”
“Take my phone.” Zuo Xingyun shoved his own phone into Hua Sheng’s uniform pocket. “If your brother asks, just say you grabbed the wrong phone by mistake while studying.”
Hua Sheng froze, his gaze dropping to Zuo Xingyun’s phone. “Ah.”
He had assumed Zuo Xingyun was about to get physical with him again, never expecting him to offer to help cover for him, let alone lend him his personal phone.
“Your brother must have gone to the hospital to find Dazhi by now, so you should contact him first and get your stories straight.” Zuo Xingyun looked down at him, enjoying the subtle trace of awkwardness lingering on Hua Sheng’s face.
“Just tell him that you fell asleep while chatting, woke up at eleven, realized you took the wrong phone and could not unlock it, so you said goodbye to Dazhi and came straight home,” Zuo Xingyun instructed methodically. “Then head straight home now, get there before your brother does, and this whole thing will blow over.”
As he listened, Hua Sheng’s eyes lit up with deep admiration. He slapped his forehead in sudden realization. “Holy crap, you are a genius! How did you come up with such a flawless excuse in such a short time? Why did not I think of that? Okay, okay, I will call Dazhi right now.”
He reached into his pocket to pull out his phone, and in an instant, both of them fell silent.
Hua Sheng’s phone had been confiscated by Hua Xu. Right now, the only phone available was Zuo Xingyun’s.
Zuo Xingyun also realized the fatal flaw in the plan, and his steady, reliable expression cracked for a split second.
Hua Sheng lifted the phone, blinked, and muttered, “Uh… by any chance, do you happen to have Dazhi’s number memorized?”
