“Zhou Hao, you cheating bastard! King of two-timing jerks!”

Lin Luoluo angrily hung up the phone and stood by the roadside, waiting for the traffic light to turn green.

Still lost in the pain of being cheated on, she completely failed to notice a streak of white light hurtling toward her from the sky.Full novel: The Foolish Consort Ran Away and Raised Adorable Babies with Her Space — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Miss, move out of the way!”

An older woman nearby saw the white light falling in their direction and hurriedly carried her little granddaughter away, not forgetting to warn Lin Luoluo.

But by the time Lin Luoluo heard the shout and reacted, it was already too late.

A blinding flash filled her vision, and she lost consciousness.

In the capital of the Nanxian Kingdom, the Prince Yu’s Manor was decorated with lanterns and festive ornaments.

Inside the bridal chamber of the main hall, dim candlelight reflected against red silk curtains, adding a hazy, mysterious charm to the room.

“Mmm…”

Lin Luoluo vaguely felt like she was suffocating, yet no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t open her eyes.

Just as she was about to black out again, a sudden rush of air filled her lungs. She gasped greedily, breathing deeply until her chest was full.

A sharp pain struck.

Lin Luoluo abruptly opened her eyes and met a pair of hazy, unreadable eyes. Before she could even see their owner clearly, darkness swallowed her again.

When she woke up once more, a flood of unfamiliar memories suddenly appeared in her mind.

The original owner of this body was also named Lin Luoluo, sixteen years old, the legitimate eldest daughter of the Northern Defense General. She had been born mentally impaired, but thankfully, her family had never abandoned her and loved her dearly.

But fate had other plans.

At the beginning of the year, generals from the Da Mo invaded the northern border with an army of two hundred thousand soldiers. Her father led troops to defend the frontier and fought bitterly until reinforcements were nearly there, only to perish alongside the enemy general.

After the devastating news arrived, her mother went into premature labor from grief and died after giving birth, leaving behind several young children.

Her younger sister, Lin Wanwan, was only nine.

Her younger brother, Lin Zirui, was seven.

And the youngest, Lin Ziyu, was still just a baby, a few months old.

To honor the Northern Defense General’s sacrifice, the Emperor granted Lin Luoluo a marriage decree, making her the principal consort of Prince Yu as a display of imperial favor.

But in reality…

Someone had secretly switched the ceremonial wedding wine during the marriage ceremony.

That was why she had awakened to… that scene.

Just as Lin Luoluo tried to sit up, she suddenly realized a large arm was draped around her waist.

Turning her head, she froze.

A devastatingly handsome face came into view.

Without thinking, she reached out and traced his features with her fingers.

His eyebrows were thick and elegant, his eyes deep and captivating, his nose tall and sharp, and those lips…

Too full would have been excessive.

Too thin would have been lacking.

Perfect enough to make her stare.

Just as her fingers neared his lips, a large hand suddenly caught her wrist.

Lin Luoluo instantly felt the awkward embarrassment of being caught red-handed.

“You’re awake?”

His voice was low, magnetic, dangerously alluring.

The sound alone stunned Lin Luoluo into silence. All she could do was nod instinctively.

Chu Chenyu watched her sharply, his piercing gaze missing none of her movements.

“Hmph… This king* wants to see whether you’re truly foolish.”

(*This king: a royal title used by princes when referring to themselves.)

While Lin Luoluo was still dazed, Chu Chenyu pulled her closer by the waist.

Lin Luoluo suddenly thought, Beauty really is dangerous.

What was she supposed to do now?

Then, inspiration struck.

Got it!

She stared at Chu Chenyu’s lips with the same hungry look she usually reserved for delicious food.

Just as he leaned down to kiss her—

She bit him.

“Ah—! Lin Luoluo!”

Furious, Chu Chenyu shoved her away.

“Tsk… Damn it! How am I supposed to face anyone like this?”

He touched the blood on his lip and glared at her through gritted teeth.

Seeing that look—as if he wanted to devour her alive—Lin Luoluo guiltily lowered her head.

“Ptoo, ptoo… Doesn’t taste good. Handsome big brother doesn’t taste good!”

Then she looked up at him pitifully.

“Luoluo… Luoluo’s tummy is hungry.”

Chu Chenyu narrowed his eyes and observed her for a long moment.

Although the medicine had certainly affected them yesterday, the way she behaved afterward didn’t feel like that of someone mentally impaired at all.

“Hmph. I’ll let you off for now,” Chu Chenyu said with a dangerously charming smile. “There’s plenty of time. Your mask will slip eventually.”

When he still didn’t react, Lin Luoluo simply shut her eyes and burst into tears.

Getting cheated on was bad enough.

Then she somehow transmigrated just from walking down the street.

The moment she arrived, she got bullied.

And now she had to act stupid just to stay alive.

The more she thought about it, the sadder she became.

“Waaahhh… Luoluo hungry! Want meat! Waaahhh…”

Chu Chenyu stared at her in complete shock, suddenly at a total loss.

“There, there… stop crying. This king will immediately have food prepared for you.”

“Really? Hic—hic— Luoluo wants meat! Hic…”

Oh no… I cried too hard.

“Yes, yes. There’ll be meat.”

Chu Chenyu pinched the bridge of his nose helplessly, got dressed, and left to order breakfast.

The moment he walked out, Lin Luoluo hurriedly got up to dress herself.

She had only gotten halfway dressed when the door opened.

“Miss! You’re awake!”

Her personal maid, Chun Tao, entered carrying a basin of water. Seeing Lin Luoluo struggling with her clothes, she quickly set the basin down.

“Miss, let me help you. This ribbon ties here, then like this… and this…”

Patiently, Chun Tao guided her.

With her help, Lin Luoluo was dressed in no time.

“These ancient clothes are pretty, but they’re such a pain to wear.”

Standing before the bronze mirror, Lin Luoluo examined herself.

Though the reflection wasn’t very clear, it was obvious the original owner had been beautiful.

“Chun Tao, thank you.”

Lin Luoluo turned and thanked her with a bright smile.

“Miss, y-you… you’re…”

Chun Tao stared at her, so emotional she could barely speak.

“You’re better!”

“Mhm.” Lin Luoluo nodded.

After getting confirmation from her mistress, Chun Tao became so happy she spun in circles.

“Ahhh! This is wonderful!”

Startled, Lin Luoluo quickly covered her mouth.

“Shh! Keep your voice down.”

She even made a throat-slitting gesture.

Only after Chun Tao nodded did she remove her hand.

“Miss… how did you suddenly get better?” Chun Tao whispered.

“I don’t know if it was the drugged wine… or maybe the dream I had last night. In the dream, an old immortal with a white beard tapped me on the forehead. When I woke up, I was better.”

Lin Luoluo made up the story on the spot.

“It must have been an immortal! Master Mingyuan of the National Protection Temple once said your soul was incomplete, which was why you were slow-minded. When the time came and your soul returned, you would recover.”

Chun Tao quickly shared what she knew.

“There was something like that?”

Lin Luoluo was only half convinced, unsure whether this Master Mingyuan was truly capable or if it just happened to coincide with her transmigration.

“It’s true! I heard Master Mingyuan say it myself back then.”

“Mhm. Don’t let anyone in the manor know that I’m better yet,” Lin Luoluo instructed.

“Yes, Miss.”

“Princess Consort, breakfast is ready. Shall it be served?”

A maid’s voice sounded from outside the door.

“Bring it in,” Chun Tao replied as she opened the door.

Before long, servants filed in carrying dishes one after another.

Lin Luoluo immediately put on an eager expression.

“Wow! So much food!”

She circled the table, sniffing everything, then grabbed a bun and stuffed it into her mouth.

“Miss! Slow down, don’t choke!”

Seeing her cheeks puffed full of buns, Chun Tao quickly poured a cup of water and gently patted her back.

Lin Luoluo hurriedly swallowed, then grabbed another bun and stuffed it into Chun Tao’s mouth.

“Chun Tao, eat!”

As Lin Luoluo reached for yet another bun, the serving maid bowed and quietly withdrew.

“Please enjoy your meal, Princess Consort.”

Lin Luoluo ignored her completely and buried herself in eating.

By the time Chu Chenyu returned after washing up, only leftovers remained on the table.

Lin Luoluo was slumped lazily in her chair, groaning while Chun Tao rubbed her little belly.

Chu Chenyu snorted coldly and flicked his sleeve before leaving.

Lin Luoluo raised an eyebrow.

Trying to fight me? You’re still too green, handsome.
