“Poisoned?” Natalie asked in shock.”Who would want to poison my father?

He has no enemies!”

Becker weighed in.

“I tested Mr.

Anderson’s blood for all common poisons.

His toxicology report was clean.

Perhaps you are mistaken?”

Tyler shook his head.

He was talking about a curse, to be precise.

However, ordinary people would not believe or understand such things.

Tyler never believed in the supernatural three years back.

However, he discovered an entire world of spiritual growth while training with Butch Salvatore.

“There is limited strength one can gain through the physical body,” the old man told him during one of their sessions.

“Once you hit your prime, your growth will hit a threshold—the limits of the human body.

However, the mystical world offers another dimension of strength and power, where there are no limits!”

Tyler was told that there might be others like him practicing the martial and spiritual arts.

Silas’ curse was clearly placed by someone versed in the same field.

“My diagnosis is absolute,” he told the doctor.

“But the poison I referred to does not appear in toxicology reports.

Silas is the wealthiest billionaire in the city.

He is bound to have enemies.”

Becker and Natalie exchanged glances.

Silas could have enemies, but who would go as far as trying to kill him?

Tyler observed Silas’s condition again.

Last time, he rejuvenated the heart through Chakra Healing.

However, that method wouldn’t work anymore as the curse had spread.

The young man did not have the ingredients to lift the curse.

But he could draw out the poison accumulated in Silas’ body and prevent his immediate death.

It wouldn’t be an easy task, though.

“What I am going to do must be kept secret,” he said aloud.

“If you cannot, you may leave the room.” Everyone present nodded.

Tyler opened Chiron’s Eye at full blast and gathered energy around his fingers.

Then he dug into Silas’ chest like a slab of dough.

Natalie gasped but didn’t intervene because the fingers had entered her father’s torso without injury.

Becker’s eyes widened in surprise.

How was he doing it?

Tyler finally located and touched the dark-purple malignant energy that filled Silas’ bloodstream.

The young man pulled on it with his own power.

With a subtle hiss, the poison began entering his body.

In two minutes, Tyler had absorbed all of it.

With a grunt, he removed his hand from Silas’ chest and cut off the flow.

Silas gasped, sat up on the bed, and wheezed uncontrollably.

He caught his breath soon.

Dr.

Becker’s jaw was left hanging.

“Mr.

Anderson!

How do you feel?”

Silas took his time to relax, then stood up and moved comfortably.

His skin looked youthful, and his posture had improved.

“I feel ten years younger!” he exclaimed.

Natalie hugged her father in tears.

“It’s a miracle!” Dr.

Becker declared.

“This young man is gifted!”

“I owe you my life, Mr.

Grant,” Silas said with a slight bow.

“I’m sorry for my behavior,” Natalie mumbled.

“I called you many names but was seriously mistaken.”

The four of them began praising Tyler profusely.

The young man was about to speak when he felt dizzy.

He staggered back and rested on the couch.

The poison he absorbed—most of his stored mystical energy was used up in neutralizing it.

That left a vacuum in his strength.

“Are you okay, Mr.

“Don’t worry.

The side effects will subside in a minute.”

Dr.

Becker repeatedly shook Tyler’s hand and pleaded with him to visit the Sapphire General Hospital.

The doctor left Marian Hotel a changed man with a fresh worldview.

“I must tell you that your ailment is not completely healed,” Tyler told Silas.

“Someone cursed you a few years ago, due to which poison gathered in your body.

Medical equipment can’t detect it, so doctors were helpless.

The curse is still persistent and may endanger your life again in a few months.”

“I see,” Silas replied.

“I may have enemies in the corporate world who’d like me dead.

Anyway, if I may be a little forward, do you have the means to heal me completely?”

Tyler nodded.

“I am aware of the process.

But it needs rare and expensive ingredients, which are not readily available.”

“My entire wealth and resources are at your disposal,” Silas said, flipping out his checkbook.

“How much money do you need?”

Tyler waved away the checkbook.

“I don’t need any financial help.”

“Mr.

Grant, for your services until now—You may ask for any gift or favor.

I will make it happen if it is in my power.”

Tyler required a few ingredients for healing Silas, as well as Ruth’s crippled legs.

“Do you have access to the annual minerals exhibition here in Sapphire City?”

“Why yes!

I am the convenor of the event.”

“I will need an invitation,” he said, getting to his feet.

“I will get in touch once I have the ingredients.”

Silas begged Tyler to have a sumptuous meal at the hotel’s banquet hall at the very least.

The young man agreed so as not to offend his hospitality.

The banquet hall was crowded, but Marvin easily sanctioned a VIP table for Tyler.

A myriad catalog of delicacies were spread out before him.

After Marvin left, Tyler returned many of the dishes and kept those that were organic and nutritious.

He needed to gain back his strength.

Tyler had a few short-term goals, one of which was to find a spiritually active location to meditate and increase his strength.

He was lost in his thoughts when a young, familiar couple noticed him across the banquet row.

They pointed fingers at him and then approached his table.

Tim Owen and his girlfriend, Melissa Brown, were his college mates and often derided and bullied him for being middle-class.

Now that Tyler’s misfortune made his family steeped in poverty, their image of him further deteriorated.

“If it isn’t Tyler Grant, the doormat of the city!” Tim announced in a condescending tone.

“Who let you inside, wastrel?”
