Previously, Izanami-sama lost her temper when more Japanese were abducted to other worlds.

Terrified of her divine mom, Amaterasu-sama decided on a strange fix: every time someone from Japan got summoned away, she'd summon someone from another world back.

The first arrival turned out to be a real princess.Full novel: The Goddess Finally Snapped After the 1000th Isekai Summon — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The entire nation collectively asked, "What the hell, Amaterasu?"

・ ・ ・

"Thread: Reverse Summoning Isn't Going Well"

Who would start a forum thread like that in the middle of a weekday?

Answer: the chief deity of Japan herself, Amaterasu-sama.

"I've been thinking about it, but what exactly went wrong... post!"

Her fingers moved at inhuman speed, though she typed with only her index fingers. Despite being a goddess, she had the tech sense of a country aunt.

Touch typing? Out of the question.

Apparently, the Internet had now reached even Takamagahara, home of the Amatsukami.

Omoikane-sama handled the setup overnight, and Amaterasu had no clue how. Nor did she care.

"Our chief deity's a tech illiterate, huh."

"Classic hopeless goddess. That's her charm."

"How can the Amatsukami survive this century?"

Even online, no one held back against their nation's divine leader.

Of course, none of them imagined the real Amaterasu had actually started the thread.

And if they did find out, they'd probably keep roasting her anyway. Best not to think about it.

"...'Kinoko-sensei'?"

She didn't get half the slang, but she understood the criticism well enough—and drooped.

Poor Amaterasu. The comments were all complaints and no real advice.

At this rate, she'd cause the six hundred seventy-second "Heavenly Rock Cave Incident."

Sure, she'd come out eventually, but in this era of divine scandals, even asking Ame-no-Uzume-sama to coax her out again could spark a whole new controversy.

"Maybe revenge was too far. But shouldn't you at least help the ones who got summoned?"

"!?"

In the wasteland of nonsense, a single grain of constructive feedback shone.

Amaterasu blinked in realization.

What have I been thinking?

She'd focused so much on cosmic balance that she'd forgotten the people involved.

That kind of logic was how final bosses got written after killing the Demon King.

"But how am I supposed to help them..."

Amaterasu was a powerful sun goddess, but her domain ended with Japan.

In other worlds, her power barely reached.

"Wait! What if I talk to the gods of those worlds?"

"Ah, you mean with body language."

The forum erupted instantly.

After all, this was the same goddess who once greeted her brother in full battle armor.

No one believed "peaceful negotiation" was in her vocabulary.

"Silence! I can handle it if I try!"

Thus, radiating failure flags from every pore, Amaterasu made up her mind.

・ ・ ・

On the Western Continent stood the ancient Fitzgard Empire.

In the depths beneath its capital's grand temple, a ritual was underway.

—The summoning of a hero from another world.

Among the few mortals allowed to watch, a young prince and his knight looked on, unimpressed.

"These priests don't get it," the knight muttered. "This isn't a Demon King crusade. Summoning a hero won't end a war."

"You say that, Grimm," the prince replied, "but one hero can still change the course of history. My father proved that."

"..."

Grimm fell silent at that, unwilling to argue further.

The prince didn't like this summoning one bit.

That was the whole reason for his frown.

Unlike his father—the late emperor—he could never become the kind of hero who turned the tide of war.

The priests believed otherwise, which was exactly why they'd pulled this reckless stunt in the first place.

Worse, a true hero could easily eclipse the royal family's authority altogether.

"...It's starting."

The magic circle drawn on the floor flared, flooding the room with blinding light.

"W-what is this place!?"

A boy appeared—a small, timid figure that looked utterly out of his depth.

"...Ha! At last, the air of Earth again!"

Except... it wasn't the boy who spoke.

A booming voice rolled through the hall as a burly man with a magnificent beard stepped forward.

"Wh-who the hell are you!?"

The prince and everyone else in the chamber shouted in unison.

The confused boy was clearly the summoned hero.

So who was the smug, muscle-bound man acting like he owned the place?

"Who am I? I am Thor—War God and Thunder God!"

The instant he declared his name, lightning cracked in the background.

They were underground, but apparently that didn't matter when you were the thunder god himself.

"Wait, Thor—as in that Thor? The Aesir one? The real deal? Wow! Otherworlds are amazing!"

The Japanese boy practically vibrated with excitement.

He didn't care that gods weren't supposed to be strolling around Earth—or any world, for that matter.

"Um, Thor-sama, why are you here?"

"Ah, it's a long story..."

・ ・ ・

One day, Odin-sama, the leader of the Aesir, called out to his court.

"Crap! Amaterasu's coming!? Frey, you take over!"

"Why are you panicking? She said she just wants to talk."

"She's the sun goddess! Those people glow when they're angry. I've only got one eye left—I can't risk it!"

"A god's eye doesn't burn out that easily."

"Then it's settled. To counter the sun, we'll send in lightning! Thor, it's your job!"

"Hey! I didn't agree to this!"

・ ・ ・

"...And that's how it happened."

"No, that explains nothing."

Thor-sama looked satisfied with his explanation, though it made no sense.

Beside him, the Japanese boy nodded solemnly, muttering, "Amaterasu-sama's incredible..." for reasons unknown.

"Well, Amaterasu worried about her children—humans—surviving in other worlds.

So I told her, 'Then I'll go along and look after them myself!'"

"No, no, no, no, NO!"

Everyone in the room shook their heads in unison.

Gods didn't just descend from the heavens to babysit humans.

Apparently, this thunder god had way too much free time.

"So, rejoice, boy! I'll make you a warrior worthy of legend!"

"A real god as my mentor? Awesome! Can I fight dragons and giants!?"

"Ha! I'll train you until you can crush them both!"

Leaving the stunned locals behind, the Japanese boy and the thunder god hit it off instantly.

And so, the world remained—more or less—peaceful.

・ ・ ・

Meanwhile, back in Japan's National Diet—

"Well now! So this is the Land of the Rising Sun, hmm?

Impressive! The light fills the chamber even indoors!"

"W-who are you!?"

A man appeared suddenly in the center of the Diet chamber.

He wore a regal crimson cape, and countless scars lined his face and body.

He looked every bit the seasoned warrior—definitely not a civilian.

"Ah, yes. I'm Adachi, Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs. May I ask who you are?"

"What? Amaterasu didn't tell you? She said she'd explained everything."

Amaterasu again!?

The Diet erupted in collective groans.

Still, the fact that the reverse-summoned man actually understood what was going on showed some progress.

Maybe next time, Amaterasu would send a memo before dropping someone into the country.

"In that case, I shall introduce myself. I am Glyos von Fitzgard, Emperor of the Fitzgard Empire!"

...The emperor himself had arrived.
