It was an ordinary afternoon.

Forty passengers and crew aboard a night bus from the countryside to Tokyo vanished without a trace.

Normally, this would cause national panic. But in Japan, where strange events had become weirdly routine, people already suspected the truth.Full novel: The Goddess Finally Snapped After the 1000th Isekai Summon — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

—Another isekai summoning.

"Well, this is troubling," said one official.

"Amaterasu-sama could've at least stopped the summoning."

"She can't. Even if it crosses worlds, it's a human matter. We're lucky she handles the cleanup."

The case reached the National Diet, where lawmakers debated how to respond.

"We need a countermeasure, Prime Minister."

"There's little we can do. We even asked Miss Elte, the reverse-summoner from before, but she's still an apprentice. No results yet."

They had tested her abilities once—she summoned a lion. A real lion.

Panic lasted until Emperor Glyos, who happened to be visiting, tackled it barehanded.

He later demanded to keep it as a pet. He lost that argument to the zoo.

* * *

"Anyway, I'm worried about the people who were summoned," one young lawmaker said.

"'Also'? What else are you worried about?"

"Well... if forty people were summoned there, doesn't that mean forty could be reverse-summoned here?"

Silence spread through the Diet.

If one isekai arrival caused chaos, forty would be a catastrophe.

More like dropping napalm on a beehive.

* * *

"N-no, surely Amaterasu-sama will explain everything to them."

Hopeful words, but empty ones.

This was Amaterasu—the goddess who took one step forward, two steps back.

No one expected progress.

"Just in case, increase security—"

Puff.

A limp sound broke the air.

A wisp of smoke, the size of a fart, rose near the center of the chamber.

"W-what is this place!?"

"Where's the castle!?"

"We were fighting the Duke's rebellion to protect our king! Our families were hostages!"

Dozens of armed knights had appeared—confused, shouting, looking everywhere.

Apparently, explanation duty had been skipped. Again.

* * *

"There's too many!"

"Amaterasu-sama, do your job!"

"I quit Shinto! You hear me, Adachi!?"

The parliament descended into panic.

One member had lost his faith entirely. Fair enough.

"D-don't move! Or the chairman gets it!"

"They've taken the chairman hostage!"

"Well, this is awkward," said the chairman, utterly calm.

"As expected of a pre-war survivor," someone muttered.

"Evacuate! Evacuate now!"

"Call the police!"

"No, call the Self-Defense Forces!"

Lawmakers scrambled like ants.

Before the JSDF even mobilized, Emperor Glyos arrived and cleaned house—literally singlehanded.

Apparently, the Prime Minister had already disarmed a few knights with a stolen sword in the meantime.

Truly, the "Supreme Commander of the JSDF."

"That's... not what that title means!"

"Yeah, probably not."

And once again, Japan remained peaceful.

* * *

"Ufufu. So, care to explain yourself, Amaterasu?"

Meanwhile, in Takamagahara—the heavenly realm—

a serene, terrifying presence loomed.

"M-mother, it was an emergency! The situation down there was—uh—urgent!"

The one pleading for her life was Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess herself, facing her mother, Izanami-no-Mikoto, goddess of creation and ruler of Yomi (T/N: land of the dead).

Though Izanami smiled gently, a dark aura rose behind her.

Japan's oldest yandere was in full form.

"Don't make excuses!"

—Eh?

Truly, the ancient Japanese mom knew no mercy.

Technically, the Three Noble Children were born from their father Izanagi after the divorce, so Izanami wasn't technically their mother.

But when gods can spawn new deities just by sneezing, details don't matter.

* * *

"My, my... you've always acted before thinking, haven't you?"

Thus began the lecture.

Amaterasu sat in seiza, looking pitiful.

At this rate, she'd stop being Amaterasu-sama and just become amaterasu-sama (too late).

"Now, now, don't get so worked up, Mother," said Susanoo.

The air cracked.

Mentioning Izanami's appearance was a death wish.

Her husband had literally fled the underworld because of it.

"Ufufufu... how amusing, Susanoo. Come closer."

"No way, Mother—you smell funny."

That was the other forbidden topic.

The atmosphere burned.

* * *

"Fufufu... Ahahaha! Feeling bold, are we, Susanoo? Getting cocky after being treated like a hero on Earth? Let's see how much discipline you really need."

"Ahahaha! Go ahead, Mother—hit harder! I can take it!"

And so, the yandere goddess laughed as she kicked her musclehead son across the floor.

A touching family bonding moment.

"Th-thank goodness..." Amaterasu sighed.

"Susanoo's basically a teenage boy acting out for attention," said Tsukuyomi dryly.

The goddess relaxed, watching her brother take the heat.

Peace, once again, returned to Takamagahara.
