It had been a solid 48 hours of the raid going on. Thaelia wasn’t quite sure how long it was supposed to be going on for, but she was fairly certain that it would end soon. There she stood, near the steps to the guild hall, or the throne room as some would call it.
With her was the other battle maids, other than Omega of course. she was still supposed to do her own thing. Thaelia was rather certain that something would go wrong. After all, she was a change in the plot, and that might alter the entire timeline if science fiction was to be believed.
She glanced at the others, the NPCs were simply standing there, as always. There wasn’t really anything different about what was going on from canon. At least, from what she remembered. The only thing that was different, was herself and the gender of Momonga’s avatar.
The Players were all held up in the guild hall. She remembered hearing something about them making a valiant last stand in said guild hall. While this annoyed her, as if the raiders made it all the way to her and her sisters, which she did doubt but didn’t put off, she would most definitely die.
She sighted internally, and watched the room to the guild hall for any enemies. Sure, there was a group of Golems on the walls, strange angry bees in the light fixtures, but she and her sisters would be the first to fight these foes. The other defenses only activated when they died for some reason.
It took about an hour or so for her to grow bored, and she started to simply count the seconds of the day, as she usually did. After about half an hour of that, she started on prime numbers. Though, sooner rather than later, something changed.
It was after anther half an hour that she felt the air in the tomb shift. Sebas, whom she had actually forgotten was level one hundred, kneeled in his standard kneeling position. She turned her head along with the others, and spotted the door to the tomb opening.
There, the players that were still logged in walked out of the guild hall. She kneeled as well, as was her programming set to right now, and she watched as the players left the room. They chatted all the way, even as some logged off for the rest of the night.
It had been a rather uneventful night for her, like always. That was until one of the players, Peroroncino, looked at her. He looked her up and down as Momonga turned to him, the conversation that he was a part of ending with chuckles as the other two players logged off.
Soon, there was only four players left in the room. It was, Momonga, Tabula, Ulbert, and Pero. She glanced at the Birdman as he sized her up and down. Then he spoke, his tone impressed.
“You did well on her man. You gave her the perfect form, if I do say so myself,” he commented.
Momonga sent up a smiley emoji in response, and started talking about the creation of Thaelia. To Thaelia herself, it was interesting to hear about. For all of her life in this game world, she hadn’t really heard any stories of her creation.
“Well, it was somewhat tricky to get her face right. I did end up basing her face off of Narberal’s face. I gave her some more baby fat, and made her eyes look a bit more human. Even though, her race is supposed to be just the mimicry of a human, I thought it fit,” he explained, his tone serious and curious at once.
Pero nodded his head. He seemed rather interested in the story behind her for some reason. While this was nice, to get attention as she had only really gotten it from Momonga himself, and Tabula.
“Nice ass you gave her,” Pero said idly, and Momonga gave him a rather scathing look.
He turned back to the overlord, who seemed slightly annoyed that the only thing that the person, who was objectively a pervert, was only really noticing Thaelia’s ass. She herself didn’t really care. After all, any adult actions would get you banned.
“Alright, can we talk about that raid, and what we need to get to repair all the stuff that got wrecked?” Momonga asked, after a beat.
Pero nodded his head. Ulbert, Momonga, and he started discussing the next step in whatever plan that they had devised. Tabula, the whole time, simply stood there, watching the NPCs as if they would move without any input.
After about ten minutes of the people around the room simply planning and talking, Momonga slapped his forehead in recognition. He dashed over to Thaelia, and used the interface to look at her settings. The other players looked at him like he was partially insane now, for some reason.
“I forgot about this cool thing I bought on the item store! It lets us give the NPCs we make sing! It’s really cool!” he exclaimed, his fingers tapping away at the settings that made her up.
She felt something in her shift, and she felt herself change. She now felt herself learn how to sing, in an instant. Sure, she knew what this extra setting was. it was an AI voice that used the voice lines that she had to sing different songs that one bought in the item shop.
Momonga looked through the list that, didn’t really have anything in it, and sighed a slightly disappointed sigh. Then, he checked again, and noticed one song. He spoke up, slightly peeved that the shitty devs wouldn’t give him any better songs.
“I have to buy the songs that she’ll sing. That’s bogus!” he exclaimed, sounding mad.
Thaelia really wished her dad would just calm down. He rarely got angry, but when he did, he was scary. Though, he was soon calmed down when Ulbert and Pero placed their hands on his shoulders. Ulbert spoke, his tone reasonable.
“Come on man, don’t let that ruin your day! We other things to do than get mad at the devs for trying that. We have other players to get mad at!” he exclaimed with a laugh.
“And besides,” Tabula started, “I don’t think the NPCs like when you get mad. No one does, for that matter,” he said, his fingers pointing together.
Momonga mumbled something under his breath. He seemed slightly awkward around all of this kinship. Yet Thaelia could tell that he liked it. What she wouldn’t give to give this man a hug, only God knew.
Momonga walked back over to her, and checked the list once more. Nodding to himself, he clicked one of the songs that was there. Sure you had to buy the majority of them, but there was one or two that the AI had to play.
She felt the corners of her mouth turn up into a smile, and she stood. She hummed and started to sing. This song was actually one of her favorite songs, and she didn’t really understand why it was free.
“Yippee yay! There’ll be no wedding bells for today!” she belted out, her AI voice reaching all around the room.
