The third rule of the Nanjí Sect: As long as the green hills remain, there is no need to fear running out of firewood.

If she had not been low on spiritual energy, she would have already drawn her sword and wiped them all out. How could she possibly tolerate them wandering around right in front of her?

Impatience gradually appeared in her eyes.Full novel: The Grandmaster Uncle Wants Peace in the Apocalypse but Ends Up Carrying the Heavenly Dao — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The next moment, the zombies that had stopped began wandering aimlessly again.

Shen Huaixu walked at the front. He gently waved his hand, signaling Nan Xing and the others behind him to quiet their footsteps and follow him. They moved slowly along the wall.

When they reached a corner, Shen Huaixu frowned as he looked at the zombies gathered outside the supermarket. He began thinking about how to deal with them.

Nan Xing reached out and tugged lightly at Shen Huaixu’s clothes around his waist. In a lowered voice, she said, “I can deal with all these zombies at once, but it will exhaust all my spiritual energy. After that, I’ll need you to protect me!”

After speaking, she stared straight at Shen Huaixu with her bright eyes.

She had chosen to trust the helper Heavenly Dao had sent her. After all, her fate was now tied to Heavenly Dao’s. If one prospered, the other prospered. If one suffered, the other suffered.

Even if she were betrayed, she was not afraid. She still had a backup plan.

Shen Huaixu’s ears turned slightly red. After thinking for a few more seconds and realizing that he had no better option, his gaze became even more determined.

“Fine. I promise you’ll be the last one to fall.”

“Grandmaster Uncle, we promise too!” Nan Tang immediately chimed in and made his stance clear.

Nan Xing turned around and saw the determined expressions on everyone’s faces. A genuine smile appeared at the corners of her lips.

Ever since the people of her sect had successively ascended to the Divine Realm, she had secluded herself to cultivate alone for nearly a thousand years.

During those thousand years, the memories of the elders and fellow disciples of the Nanjí Sect had become increasingly vivid in her mind. The loneliness in her heart had grown more intense, and her temper had become increasingly irritable.

But at this moment, she felt as though she had returned to the Nanjí Sect, back to the place filled with laughter, warmth, and affection.

Her restless heart was soothed at this moment.

She mobilized the spiritual energy within her and quickly formed a hand seal.

Fengyi instantly transformed into several flying swords and shot toward the group of zombies. In the blink of an eye, dozens of zombies collapsed to the ground.

This time, the zombies fell almost simultaneously. They only made several dull thuds, which did not attract the attention of the other zombies.

Everyone carefully stepped over the pile of corpses and entered the supermarket.

Shen Huaixu grabbed Nan Xing, who was looking excited, and reminded her in a low voice, “Everyone, be careful. There must still be zombies inside. Stay in contact if anything happens.”

The others nodded firmly before splitting up to search.

“Where are the self-heating hot pots?” Nan Xing looked at Shen Huaixu with sparkling eyes.

Shen Huaixu took her hand and carefully led her around several zombies. He silently brought her to a shelf and lowered his voice with a hint of indulgence.

“There are all kinds of delicious things here!”

Nan Xing’s eyes immediately lit up. With a wave of her hand, the shelves on both sides were instantly emptied.

She then excitedly ran to another area and did the same thing.

Shen Huaixu followed closely behind her, dividing his attention between collecting supplies and keeping watch for any movement around them.

Perhaps the dozens of zombies outside the supermarket had frightened everyone away. That happened to work in Nan Xing and the others’ favor.

The others’ storage bags soon became full, so they hurried over to join Nan Xing and Shen Huaixu.

“Look!” Nan Xing exclaimed excitedly in a hushed voice.

Shen Huaixu followed her gaze.

There was a tightly closed door with the word Warehouse written on it.

“Nan Xing, does your storage bag still have room? Ours are already full!”

“If there were a few more shopping malls this size, I could still fit everything!” Nan Xing excitedly walked toward it.

The others were delighted when they saw this and immediately followed.

If they could collect everything inside, they would no longer have to worry about supplies for a long time.

Shen Huaixu reached out and stopped Nan Xing. He shielded her behind him, slowly grasped the doorknob, and turned it.

He then looked back at everyone and shook his head in disappointment.

Forcing the door open would only attract the zombies and could very likely put them in danger.

“I’ll do it!”

Nan Xing pulled Shen Huaixu aside, summoned Fengyi, and slashed through the gap in the door. She gently pushed it open, and the door made a faint sound as the inside came fully into view.

The entire room was filled with shelves packed with food.

Happily, she walked inside, then frowned and waved her hand in front of her nose.

“It smells awful!”

“It might be the smell of rotten food.” Shen Huaixu carefully observed the room. “Nan Xing, collect the supplies first. Wen Ye, guard the door. If anything happens, notify us immediately.”

“Okay!”

Nan Xing nodded and quickly began collecting the supplies.

A few minutes later, she looked around the now-empty room with satisfaction.

“Done!”

“Nan Xing, there’s still more over there!”

“That side is all rotten food.”

Nan Xing waved her hand in front of her nose again.

“Let’s go!”

She had smelled a terrible odor near that row of shelves. It was somewhat like the smell of feces and somewhat like the stench of a decomposing corpse.

They had only taken a few steps when a deep roar came from behind them.

“You took all our supplies. What are we supposed to eat now?”

Nan Xing stopped and turned around.

Several unkempt, bearded men emerged from behind the shelves. They were filthy and covered in a foul stench.

Their expressions were vicious, as if they wanted to tear Nan Xing and Shen Huaixu apart and devour them alive.

“Little girl, you’re a spatial-type ability user with no combat ability. Why don’t you follow your big brother here? I guarantee you’ll have plenty of good food and drink!”

The leader, Zhou Shan, lecherously looked Nan Xing up and down as he let out a sinister chuckle.

There had to be plenty of supplies stored in this woman’s spatial ability.

“Little girl, Brother Shan is an able user!” Tian Dong chimed in, his gaze equally brazen as he looked Nan Xing up and down.

Once Brother Shan got tired of playing with her, it would be his turn.

The women before her had all ended up the same way.

Shen Huaixu stepped forward and shielded Nan Xing behind him. He frowned and looked sharply at the two men.

Lightning surged from his hand and shot straight toward Tian Dong.

Tian Dong did not even have time to scream. He fell to the ground, convulsed for a few seconds, and then became motionless.

Another bolt of lightning quickly formed in Shen Huaixu’s hand and was hurled toward Zhou Shan.

Zhou Shan hurriedly activated his ability and raised a transparent shield in front of himself to block the lightning.

The lightning disappeared into the shield without causing the slightest reaction.

Shen Huaixu frowned and released several more bolts of lightning, but all of them were swallowed by the shield.

“My ability absorbs other people’s energy. You can’t beat me!”

Zhou Shan threw his head back and laughed triumphantly.

“Little girl, I’ll give you three seconds to think about it. Otherwise, after three seconds…”

“Captain Shen, what happened?”

Wen Ye and the others heard the commotion and hurried inside to investigate. There was unconcealed anxiety in their voices.

“The zombies outside are coming over!”

Zhou Shan saw four more men in camouflage uniforms enter one after another. Holding up his shield, he hurriedly backed away several steps.

He had already realized that Shen Huaixu was no ordinary person.

But as long as he faced only one opponent, he was still confident.

Now that it was one against five, even he began to lose confidence.

Nan Xing pushed Shen Huaixu aside and walked toward Zhou Shan with a face as cold as frost.

Suddenly, her wrist was grabbed.

She stopped, turned around, and shouted coldly, “Let go!”

Seeing the anger in her eyes, Shen Huaixu held her wrist firmly and gently reassured her.

“I’ll go with you.”

“Hahaha! Even your leader has already surrendered. The rest of you should kneel down and beg for mercy. Maybe I’ll be merciful enough to take you in as my lackey!”

After saying this, Zhou Shan laughed smugly. His eyes became even more brazen as they swept over Nan Xing, but the shield in his hand never dropped.

The lackeys behind Zhou Shan also laughed triumphantly.

Nan Xing’s gaze grew colder and colder.

She looked at Zhou Shan as if she were looking at a dead man.

Zhou Shan could not help but break out in a cold sweat. His body trembled slightly as he took another step back.

She said in a deep voice, “You’re the first person who has ever dared to talk to me like that.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Fengyi suddenly appeared.

Holding Fengyi, Nan Xing swung it forward in a single slash. The force of the strike sent her hair flying, revealing her cold and beautiful face.

“Hahaha, it’s use”

Before Zhou Shan could finish speaking, his body suddenly split diagonally down the middle.

The two halves slid apart and fell to either side.
