Lu Zhi was displeased inside, but he still spoke with a smile. “I didn’t expect my cousin to get along with his roommate so quickly.”

“Not like me, I haven’t even exchanged a few words with my roommate yet.”

Song Yu held his chopsticks, feeling that although this person’s words weren’t outright vulgar, they somehow felt incredibly grating.Full novel: The Harder the Alpha Bully Kisses, the Harder His Beta Lackey Cries — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Lu Qiwen snorted, his expression openly disdainful. “Maybe it’s the sour stench on you that’s driving people away.”

Hearing this, Lu Zhi stiffened, an overwhelming sense of humiliation washing over him, his smile nearly cracking.

“I won’t disturb my cousin and Brother Heng’s meal anymore.” After saying this, he shot a pitiful glance toward Jiang Yuanheng before slowly walking away.

Song Yu lowered his head, suppressing a laugh.

He knew why the mention of a sour smell had broken the protagonist’s defense. In the original story, it was mentioned that the protagonist’s pheromone scent smelled like a sour stench to all Alphas and Omegas, unless he could bond with an Omega with a 100% compatibility rate, otherwise, it couldn’t be changed.

Jiang Yuanheng felt utterly innocent. Every time this guy came looking for trouble with Lu Qiwen and got shut down, he’d act as if not helping him was some heinous crime.

“Are you close with him?” Lu Qiwen turned his head slightly, his tone as casual as if asking an ordinary question.

But Song Yu knew this question was anything but simple. He immediately straightened up.

“I wouldn’t say we’re acquainted. We were in neighboring classes back then. We’d run into each other occasionally but never really talked.”

After all, the original body and the protagonist had no real interaction during their high school days, so he wasn’t afraid of the school bully investigating.

Song Yu had long eyelashes, clear and bright eyes that shimmered like water when he looked at someone. At this moment, his gaze was direct, unwavering and sincere.

Facing those eyes, Lu Qiwen inexplicably began to avert his gaze, his Adam’s apple bobbing unconsciously. “Hmm.”

Hmm? Song Yu looked at his lunch tray in confusion.

What did this school bully mean by “hmm”?

Had he passed the test?

Jiang Yuanheng sat across from them, eating with relish. In a spot neither of them noticed, he even quickly snapped two blurry photos of Song Yu and Lu Qiwen, each lost in their own thoughts.

With no classes in the afternoon, Song Yu went out to work his part-time job after lunch. It wasn’t until 7 p.m. that he returned, carrying some food and planning to head straight to the classroom for evening self-study.

But before he could reach the school gate, he spotted a figure dressed in red from afar, standing by the entrance with someone else.

Zhang Qizhi?

Song Yu quickened his pace. As he approached, he saw Zhang Qizhi striking a coy pose.

Who could have imagined it? A man in a tight red outfit, red pants, and with fiery red hair, his features rugged and masculine, stood with his hands clasped in front of his chest, his eyes batting incessantly, lips slightly pouted.

Song Yu trembled as he leaned against the school gate’s pillar.

Bro… bro.

He lowered his head, desperately trying to erase that image from his mind.

“Lock him in the classroom?”

“I’m just locking him up for one night! Just to teach him a lesson!” Zhang Qizhi widened his eyes and nodded repeatedly.

“Well… alright then. Ah, ever since he came back, the old man has grown more and more disgusted with me. Now he won’t even see me. I don’t know what I did wrong.” The boy leaning against the sports car looked at Zhang Qizhi with gratitude in his eyes.

“If it weren’t for you, Qizhi, I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to hold on.”

“Cheng Yao is just a bastard! How can he compare to you, Brother Xu!” Zhang Qizhi instantly grew anxious upon hearing this.

The man gave a pale smile, a flicker of mockery toward Zhang Qizhi flashing in his eyes before he quickly concealed it. “Qizhi, don’t say that.”

The two comforted each other for a while at the school gate before the man drove off into the distance.

Song Yu crouched behind a pillar, watching every movement and hearing every word of the exchange clearly.

Wasn’t that Cheng Ming, the eldest son of the Cheng family? But the original story didn’t seem to mention any relationship between Zhang Qizhi and Cheng Ming. Zhang Qizhi was just a minor cannon fodder character in the early stages, used to bring the protagonist and his love interest together.

Song Yu clicked his tongue a few times.

Love-struck fool, a pure love-struck fool.

But this was the beginning of the original story. Cheng Yao was locked inside until the next day, just in time to be discovered by the scumbag male lead. Coincidentally, Cheng Yao’s heat, which he had been desperately suppressing with inhibitors, rebounded, and the two of them went at it like wildfire.

Song Yu had no intention of getting involved. His task was simply to play the role of the school bully’s sidekick. If he meddled in something related to the main plot, the system might just shock him again.

His phone suddenly vibrated twice. Song Yu glanced at it, 7:15! How was he already about to be late just from eavesdropping?!

He sprinted toward the teaching building.

…

“System.”

[Yes, host.]

“Where am I now?”

The sight of these completely identical teaching buildings made Song Yu want to scream in agony.

Whose university changes the evening self-study classroom every single night?!

[According to my calculations, you are currently only a left turn, straight walk, and right turn away from the classroom.]

“Are you sure?” Song Yu stared at the pitch-black building with not a single light on, his heart filled with doubt.

The system fell silent.

[Yes.]

It still firmly believed its calculations were correct.

“Then it better be.” Song Yu cautiously peeked into the classroom through the doorframe, only to find it completely empty, with no sounds of anyone attending class. His mind involuntarily began conjuring up every campus horror movie he had ever seen.

He clasped his hands together. “Ghosts don’t exist.”

Wait, that’s not right. I’ve transmigrated into a book, it’s entirely possible that ghosts exist, isn’t it?!

“Is… is anyone there?” A voice, rising and falling in the distance, made Song Yu’s heart race.

Cheng Yao’s face was flushed, and he weakly slapped the door. Hearing no response from outside, he sighed and slumped to the floor.

He lowered his gaze to his trembling hands, the heat from the gland at the back of his neck making him grit his teeth. “No, I can’t.”

Suddenly, a noise accompanied by footsteps grew closer and closer. The lock clicked, followed by another set of footsteps.

Cheng Yao mustered all his strength to push the door open. He glanced outside the classroom, barely making out a fleeing figure in white.

The system mechanically announced the consequences of Song Yu’s decision.

“No way! Didn’t you lead me here? How could I just ignore it after seeing that?!”

“Besides, only heaven, earth, you, and I know about this. How is that out of character?!”

The system seemed stumped by this question and remained silent for a long time, though the electric current continued to flow.

Screw the system! Screw the electric shocks!

Lu Qiwen opened the dormitory door. The sharp hearing of an alpha immediately picked up the suppressed groans in the dimly lit room.

Hearing the sound, he turned his gaze toward Song Yu’s bed. He saw that the other’s sweat had nearly soaked through his clothes, his body trembling slightly, his eyes tightly shut, and his brows deeply furrowed, clearly in great distress.

“Hey, what’s wrong with you?”
