After that meal, Song Yu was completely re-energized and couldn’t wait to leave the hospital. Lu Qiwen didn’t stop him, arranging for a driver to take him back.

First, Song Yu sat in the luxury car with his fists clenched in a prayer-like pose, then pretended to be reserved as he touched this and that, muttering softly, “Thank heavens, thank earth, thank Young Master Lu.”

Pretending to be casual, he took out his phone and snapped a photo of himself that he thought looked deeply melancholic. After applying a hundred layers of filters, he edited it to the point where almost no one could recognize him, finally satisfied enough to post it on social media.Full novel: The Harder the Alpha Bully Kisses, the Harder His Beta Lackey Cries — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The caption read: [Today, I rode in the school bully’s luxury car.]

The usually stern-faced driver couldn’t help but chuckle.

Where on earth did the young master find such a character?

Before he even made it back to school, his phone vibrated.

Humming a tune, Song Yu picked it up and looked, only to be struck by a bolt from the blue. Military training tomorrow? So sudden?!

He closed his eyes and slumped back in his seat.

Was it too late to go back to the hospital and get a severe injury certificate?

As it turned out, it was indeed too late.

Dejected, Song Yu arrived at the designated classroom for the pre-military training mobilization meeting. The room was packed with a sea of people, the noise almost loud enough to lift the roof.

He covered his ears, his gaze searching through the crowd.

Huh? Why couldn’t he see the protagonist shou?

That wasn’t right. Hadn’t he released the protagonist shou? Logically, everything should be fine now.

“Alright, everyone, quiet down. When you hear your name, come up and collect your military training uniforms.”

Even after all the uniforms had been distributed and the instructor had finished speaking, Song Yu still hadn’t spotted Cheng Yao.

“Oh, he requested leave for military training.”

Song Yu smiled and thanked the class assistant. But as soon as the assistant walked away, his smile instantly vanished.

Could it be that no matter who opened the door, the plot’s direction ultimately wouldn’t change?

With his hands in his pockets, he trudged gloomily toward the dormitory.

But just as he reached the dormitory building, he ran into someone he really didn’t want to see.

“Good evening, Classmate Song.”

Song Yu stopped and stared at Lu Zhi for a long moment. “Why are you here?”

Lu Zhi raised an eyebrow. “Why can’t I be here?”

Song Yu didn’t know how to ask further, after all, all of this was based on his knowledge of the original plot.

But since Lu Zhi was here and had countered with a question, did that mean the protagonist shou’s leave wasn’t because of some out-of-control estrus cycle that had entangled him with this person?

Song Yu’s mind raced frantically. However, in Lu Zhi’s eyes, he seemed to be staring at him, lost in thought.

A faint smile curled at the corner of Lu Zhi’s lips. Before starting school, he had already investigated and found out that his dear cousin’s roommate was none other than Song Yu, who had once shown interest in him. After seeing Song Yu’s behavior in the cafeteria yesterday, he had thought the other had lost interest.

Now, it seemed his gamble had paid off, it was worth waiting two hours downstairs.

As for Cheng Yao, he could wait until tomorrow to deal with him.

He needed to use this beta to crush his dear cousin deeper into the mud, and faster.

With that thought, Lu Zhi’s face broke into his signature gentle smile, the affection in his eyes seeming to overflow.

“I thought since we were high school classmates and now, by such a coincidence, ended up at the same university, I should at least show some gesture to Song Yu.” As he spoke, he lifted the bags in his hands. “I was really rude at the cafeteria yesterday, so consider this an apology.”

Song Yu stared at him blankly. A gesture? An apology?

Seriously, dude, I really don’t know you that well. There’s no need, really no need.

Song Yu forced a dry laugh. “That’s really not necessary. It’s too much.”

Lu Zhi, however, pressed on. “It’s nothing extravagant, just some simple snacks and fruit.”

Song Yu was about to say something else when the other sighed. “It seems Song Yu hasn’t forgiven me yet.”

Under the flickering amber streetlight, neither of them noticed a figure standing beneath a lamp not far from the dormitory building.

After Lu Zhi left, Song Yu stared at the two large bags in his hands, gritting his teeth.

Is this guy out of his mind? I said no, but he insisted on giving them.

Song Yu understood the principle of not accepting gifts without reason. After a moment’s thought, he knocked on the dorm supervisor’s door.

When Song Yu returned to the dorm, he found the lights off, the room pitch black. The stifling heat inside confirmed that no one had turned on the air conditioner.

“Maybe he hasn’t come back yet?” Song Yu hummed softly, glancing at the empty bed across the room.

“Maybe he’s still busy?” After all, military training was starting tomorrow.

Having passed out as soon as he arrived at the dorm last night and sweating profusely, Song Yu couldn’t wait to take a shower. He even brought the new body wash Sister Zheng had given him.

As the sweet scent of peaches enveloped him, Song Yu let out a long sigh. “Why did Sister Zheng stop using this? It smells so good.”

He spent nearly an hour in the shower, emerging with a faint mist clinging to his skin.

He collapsed onto his bed but felt no drowsiness at all.

“Why hasn’t Lu Qiwen come back yet?”

Song Yu muttered softly, unable to resist turning to study Lu Qiwen’s side of the room.

His side was simple, just a pillow and a blanket, without even a single decorative trinket or plush toy.

“This guy has such a dull sense of life,” Song Yu clicked his tongue.

Yet, for some reason, as he breathed in the sweet peach fragrance on his skin, his eyelids grew heavy, and he slowly drifted off to sleep.

The moon rose higher, its light creeping in along the edges of the window. The soft sound of breathing in the room was faint, yet it seemed to beat like a drum against one’s heart.

Lu Qiwen pushed the door open, something seemingly still in his hand.

He could hear the steady breathing of the person on the bed. After standing in silence for a long time, he suddenly walked over to Song Yu’s bedside.

Lu Qiwen’s usually irritable face showed no expression as his gaze traced the contours of Song Yu’s sleeping form. The slight furrow of his brows in slumber held an eerie vulnerability, a stark contrast to his usual cheerful demeanor.

As if sensing something in his sleep, Song Yu let out a soft murmur and peeked out from under the covers.

Suddenly, Lu Qiwen reached out, his thumb tracing from Song Yu’s eyes, down his nose, and finally resting on his lips. The warmth of the other’s skin seemed to stir something within him, awakening a deep-seated urge to touch.

As the moonlight shifted slightly, the figure quickly withdrew, clenching his hand tightly. His face twisted with irritation as he opened the wardrobe, pulled out several vials of injections, and administered them into the veins of his arm.

Song Yu truly hadn’t expected that after sleeping all day, he could still sleep so soundly at night.

He slurped the non-existent drool at the corner of his mouth, stretched lazily, and got out of bed, only to accidentally kick something that made a rustling sound.

“Huh?” Song Yu looked down and saw two bags stuffed to the brim with all kinds of snacks.

He stared in confusion. “Did I sleepwalk and buy these because I was too greedy?!”

But he knew that was impossible. Song Yu glanced at the still-empty bed. Had someone come back, left these for him, and then left again?

Delighted, he pulled out his favorite potato chips from the bags.

This was no campus bully.

This was clearly his sugar daddy!

His boss!

His master!
