Lin Tian stood there without saying a word.
The cold wind blew across the square.
His hands slowly tightened into fists.
He wanted to argue.
He wanted to ask why.
But when he looked around…
No one was looking at him with sympathy.
Only disgust.
Only disappointment.
Only ridicule.
Lin Hao stepped forward with a smile.
“I told you.” “You’ll never become a cultivator.” “You were born a failure.” The disciples around him laughed.
Lin Tian looked at him.
For the first time…
His eyes showed no sadness.
Only silence.
He turned around and walked away.
No one stopped him.
No one called his name.
To the Lin Clan…
He no longer existed.
…
A few hours later.
The sun was already setting behind the mountains.
Lin Tian stood outside the small wooden house he had lived in since he was a child.
It was quiet.
Too quiet.
He walked inside and looked around.
A wooden bed.
A broken table.
A bookshelf with only three old books.
That was everything he owned.
He packed a few clothes into a small bag.
Then he picked up an old wooden sword.
It had belonged to his father.
Although it was old and worn out…
Lin Tian treasured it more than anything.
He gently touched the handle.
“Father…” “If you’re still alive…” “I hope we meet again someday.” He placed the sword on his back.
Before leaving, he looked at the house one last time.
Then he walked away without looking back.
…
Night slowly covered the land.
Lin Tian climbed into the mountains behind Windfall City.
These mountains were known as the Black Mist Mountains.
Ordinary people rarely entered them.
Spirit beasts often appeared after sunset.
But Lin Tian didn’t care.
He had nowhere else to go.
He continued walking until he reached a lonely cliff.
The moon shone brightly above him.
He sat on a large rock.
Everything that had happened today replayed inside his mind.
“The Heaven-Forbidden Root…” “Cursed…” “Rejected by Heaven…” He laughed bitterly.
“So this is my fate.” He lowered his head.
For the first time in years…
Tears slowly rolled down his face.
He had trained harder than anyone else.
He had never complained.
He had believed that one day his efforts would be rewarded.
Instead…
He lost everything.
His family.
His home.
His future.
All in one day.
He looked up at the endless stars.
“Why?” “What did I do wrong?” No one answered.
Only the cold night wind.
Suddenly…
A low growl echoed from the forest.
Lin Tian quickly stood up.
His heart raced.
Two glowing red eyes appeared between the trees.
Then four.
Then six.
Three Shadow Wolves slowly stepped out of the darkness.
Their sharp fangs reflected the moonlight.
They were hungry.
Lin Tian tightened his grip on the wooden sword.
He knew he couldn’t win.
Not against three spirit beasts.
But he refused to die without fighting.
The largest wolf suddenly leaped toward him.
Lin Tian swung his sword.
Crack!
The old wooden sword shattered into pieces.
The wolf’s claw struck his chest.
Bang!
He was thrown backward.
His body crashed against a large black stone hidden among the grass.
Blood flowed from the corner of his mouth.
The wolves slowly approached.
One step.
Then another.
Lin Tian struggled to stand.
His vision became blurry.
“So…” “This is how it ends…” Just as the wolves prepared to attack…
A drop of blood fell onto the black stone behind him.
Drip.
The entire mountain suddenly became silent.
The wolves froze.
Their bodies trembled.
Then…
Without warning…
They turned around and ran away in fear.
Lin Tian frowned.
“What…?” The black stone began to glow.
Tiny cracks spread across its surface.
A deep purple light escaped from within.
Boom!
The stone exploded into countless fragments.
Floating in the air was an ancient black jade pendant.
Strange golden runes covered its surface.
It slowly floated toward Lin Tian.
Before he could react…
The pendant entered his chest.
A sharp pain spread through his entire body.
“Ahhh!” He fell to his knees.
His head felt like it was splitting apart.
Ancient memories.
Strange symbols.
Unknown voices.
Everything rushed into his mind.
Then…
The world around him disappeared.
He found himself standing inside an endless black space.
There were no stars.
No mountains.
No sky.
Only darkness.
A pair of enormous golden eyes slowly opened before him.
Their pressure was so terrifying that Lin Tian couldn’t breathe.
A deep ancient voice echoed throughout the endless darkness.
“So…” “After ten thousand years…” “You have finally awakened me.” Lin Tian’s eyes widened.
“Who…
who are you?” The mysterious voice laughed.
Its laughter shook the entire space.
“I am the one the heavens feared…” “The one they betrayed…” “And from this day onward…” “I will be your master.” End of Chapter 1 CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Ashton_Pearce Thank you for reading Chapter 1 of The Heavenly Outcast!
