Early the next morning, my wives were still sound asleep.
I stepped outside the cottage and breathed in the crisp morning air.
There was no one else on this island.
The nearest settlement was quite a distance away, and the ocean currents made it difficult to come by sea.
By air, it would be easier to reach, but in the old world's logic, flying means were far too expensive for ordinary people to afford, and no one would bother coming to such a remote, empty place.
It was a true isolated island.
I had thought to greet the Dragon King or Dragon Lord of this world first, but for now, I couldn't sense them anywhere.
Then again... I came here wanting a slow life. Maybe it's okay to try it out alone on this deserted island.
Well, whatever... I guess I'll start by setting up some basic infrastructure.
'Dragon!'
"Water Spirit, lend me your strength."
I took on my dragon form and called out to the Water Spirit.
I'd recently discovered that dragons have a close bond with spirits, and they tend to listen when asked for help.
Of course, whether it would work here was a gamble.
'Hehe... An unfamiliar dragon.'
'Really, really... What do you want?'
"I want a spring here, and a hot spring a little further away. Would you grant that for me?"
'Hmm, if you share some of your dragon energy, sure.'
'Give me your dragon energy.'
A blue girl with wings about the size of one of her three-head-tall hands spoke to me.
Dragon energy is like 'ki'—sharing some of it wouldn't be a problem at all.
"Alright then, I'll ask."
''''Okay.''''
As the spirits clung to the ground, a deep rumbling rose from beneath.
After a moment, a hot spring bubbled up on one side, and water sprang forth on the other—soon, both a hot spring and a clear spring had formed.
'Hmph... Is this good?'
'I set the hot spring's temperature around 40 degrees Celsius. Now, give me your dragon energy.'
"Go ahead!"
The Water Spirit latched onto me, drawing the energy.
I'd heard stories before—dragon energy was precious to spirits, like mosquitoes thirsting for blood.
"Thank you."
The Water Spirit happily departed after absorbing the energy.
Now, I could use hot water and fresh water freely, without any magical tools.
I immediately connected the system to the cottage.
Now water and hot water were unlimited.
But just this wasn't enough... since I'm here anyway...
"Earth Spirit, lend me your strength."
I wanted to turn the hot spring into a rock bath, the spring into a cold bath, and create fields and rice paddies to complete the setup.
Muscular dwarves—Earth Spirits—appeared.
I requested these constructions from the Earth Spirits.
'I've never seen a dragon royalty like you before.'
'Do you need something from us?'
"I want a rock bath, a cold bath, and fields and rice paddies."
'We'll do it, but will you give us some dragon energy?'
'If you give it, we accept.'
"Yes, I'll give it—please help."
In no time, the rock bath, cold bath, rice paddies, and fields were complete.
Apparently, they didn't need detailed instructions—just reading my intentions was enough, and the results were exactly as I imagined.
What's more, the rice paddies were filled with ripened ears of rice, ready for harvest immediately.
Vegetables and fruits hung heavy on the vines.
Pineapple, banana, mango, watermelon, melon, and daikon radish.
Even crops from my previous life were reproduced here.
I must have just failed to find them until now, but they existed in this world after all.
All that's left is to secure fish and meat, and then I can be completely self-sufficient.
Now that I think about it, I've lived away from the village for a while—maybe it's good to regain my skills here.
Still... it feels like I cheated quite a bit... but, well, I am the Dragon Lord, so this much should be allowed.
