“MOTH is an official anti-Honkai organization directly under the United Nations.
It maintains extensive cooperation with every nation, possesses abundant resources and funding, and is equipped with advanced research facilities.
It is a sacred destination in the eyes of many scientists, which is why it has gathered so much talent.
“At the same time, MOTH’s recruits are of exceptional quality.
Its training methods are scientific and well designed, while its promotion system is fair and impartial.
It is unquestionably one of the main forces fighting the Honkai and the ideal place for ambitious young talents to distinguish themselves,” Ato dutifully explained from beside them.
“Uncle Ato, that’s some shameless advertising,” Vill-V remarked.
“Why do all of you call me uncle?
Do I really look that old?” Ato wailed.
“No, Uncle Ato, you’re not old.” Then, under Ato’s grateful gaze, Elysia smilingly added, “You just look old~” “Fine, fine.
I can’t win an argument against either of you.” Ato’s face fell as he waved a hand.
“The engineering department is ahead, third room after turning right.
For the testing ground, turn left, go straight, then take the elevator to the lowest level.
I’ve already informed them, so the two of you can go straight in.” “Thank you~” “Many thanks.” “It’s nothing.
MOTH welcomes everyone who shares our goal of fighting the Honkai.” Ato straightened his expression and delivered the formal greeting before looking miserable again.
“I have to finish my report, so I won’t be accompanying you.” After waving goodbye, Elysia and Vill-V chatted as they continued down the corridor.
“What do you think of this place?” Elysia looked around.
“It’s all right.
Better than I expected.” Vill-V lowered her voice.
“I actually surveyed this place with drones a year ago while investigating the Honkai.
I never expected I’d be able to walk in openly one day.” “At first, I even thought they were responsible for creating the Honkai, so I considered simply destroying them.” She spoke in a whisper.
“But after you told me you’d joined MOTH, Ely, I abandoned the plan.
If you thought there was nothing wrong with this organization, then I must have been mistaken.” At that moment, a green-haired figure in a white coat approached from the far end of the corridor.
She was clearly in a good mood, but her aura was so unapproachable that the surrounding employees hurriedly gave her a wide berth.
“It’s you, the green-haired auntie!” Vill-V exclaimed in surprise.
“Say that again?” The woman immediately grew displeased upon hearing her, fixing Vill-V with a pair of gradient green-and-pink eyes.
“Ahem, she didn’t mean any harm.” Elysia hurriedly stepped in to smooth things over.
“You must be the renowned Dr.
Mobius.
I’ve heard so much about you.” “Are you sure you haven’t heard so much infamy about me instead?” Mobius sneered disdainfully.
“I’m well aware of my reputation among others.
There’s no need to flatter me.” She looked Elysia over, naked desire appearing in her eyes.
“More importantly, are you the person Ato said ended the Honkai Eruption with a single arrow?
If that’s true, then I’m very interested in you.” “I’m deeply honored~” Elysia answered with a smile.
“Hmph.
I hope you still feel that way once you’re lying on my operating table.” She snorted and strode swiftly past them.
Before leaving, she turned back and added, “Remember to keep your distance from me, or people may start gossiping about you too.” “Uh…” Elysia turned toward the contemplative Vill-V, unsure what to say.
As the Previous Era’s two foremost representatives in mechanical engineering and biotechnology, Elysia genuinely hoped Vill-V and Mobius could establish a relatively good relationship.
Judging by this first meeting, however, things had gone terribly.
After a long while, Vill-V raised her head and struck her fist against her palm in realization.
“She’s a tsundere.” You figured out Mobius’ true nature the moment you met her?
“Uh…
What makes you say that?” Elysia genuinely wanted to know how Vill-V had reached that conclusion.
“It’s just a feeling.
She isn’t actually a bad person, is she?” Vill-V blinked.
“Besides, don’t you think so too, Ely?
You barely seemed upset when Mobius said she wanted to put you on her operating table.” “All right.
As expected of you.” Elysia had no choice but to admit it.
As they spoke, they arrived at the entrance to the engineering department.
“Then I’ll head in first?” Vill-V tipped her hat in farewell.
“All right.
I’ll go to the testing ground.” Elysia waved goodbye, then suddenly remembered something and added, “Remember to go easy on them.
Don’t shatter their faith in engineering~” “Uh, I’ll try?” Vill-V disappeared behind the door carrying the container of Soulium.
What came next would probably be a standard Great Love Immortal Venerable scenario.
The technicians would cry out in disbelief, How could an underage girl like you possibly have mastered the mysteries of Soulium?
Vill-V would smile faintly.
Simple.
I merely became a genius.
Then, once she finished speaking, she would seize everyone in the engineering department and refine them all in an instant.
What the hell am I thinking?
Elysia hurriedly shook her head and cast those ridiculous thoughts aside.
The main body of the testing ground was an enormous spherical underground chamber.
Its inner walls were covered in bright silver arched steel plates, with strip lights embedded along the seams, leaving the entire chamber fairly well illuminated.
Numerous drones worked across the inner walls, clearing away residual Honkai energy.
A raised platform had also been built at the edge of the testing ground.
This served as the weapon-firing position.
Elysia passed through three layers of protective doors before stepping onto the platform.
At that moment, the drones completed their cleaning cycle and took off from every corner, returning to their designated routes.
Like streams converging into a river, they formed orderly lines and flew back toward the drone hangar.
All except the one at the farthest end.
Elysia narrowed her eyes.
“Miss Elysia, your target is the marker suspended beneath the drone six kilometers away,” the control room supervisor’s voice announced over the speakers.
“Understood~” Elysia replied leisurely.
She removed the longbow from her back and sighted along it toward the distant target.
A nearby rail delivered a container.
Its lid slid open, revealing an entire crate of Honkai crystals glowing with violet light.
A technician prepared to operate the mechanical arm attached to the side of the container and remove the crystals one by one, while the supervisor instructed Elysia to place the bow on the platform for charging.
“That won’t be necessary.” Elysia raised a hand to stop them.
Under the astonished gazes of everyone in the control room, she ignored the warning signs and picked up a Honkai crystal with her bare hand.
Mobius, watching the surveillance feed from her laboratory, instantly widened her eyes.
As far as everyone knew, direct contact with a Honkai crystal was tantamount to suicide.
Even Ato, whose Honkai resistance was exceptionally high, would never dare touch one without protection.
The supervisor immediately grabbed the microphone and contacted the medical department.
Elysia appeared completely unaware of their alarm.
She even leisurely pinched the crystal between two fingers and held it up to the light to inspect its quality.
Not as good as the ones I made when I was little, Elysia judged before inserting it into the longbow.
The instant the Honkai crystal touched the bow, a pink halo erupted from the point of contact.
The crystal seemed to dissolve, merging effortlessly into the bow and transforming into flowing pink radiance that spread across its entire body.
The longbow seemed to awaken, releasing a faint metallic hum.
The control room supervisor hurriedly aimed the camera at Elysia’s hand and zoomed in.
To his astonishment, there was not the slightest trace of erosion.
The moment Mobius saw this, she immediately returned to the operating table, halted the dissection, sealed the Herrscher’s remains, then threw open the door and rushed straight toward the testing ground.
“Miss Elysia, do you feel any discomfort?” the supervisor asked anxiously.
“Mm~ I’m fine.
I don’t feel anything.” As Elysia spoke, she grabbed another handful of Honkai crystals and stuffed them into the bow.
“Using the mechanical arm to pick them up one by one is too slow.
This is faster.” Everyone watched in silence as she emptied the entire container.
As more crystals merged into the weapon, the pink radiance flowing across the longbow grew increasingly dense until it nearly became solid.
Elysia rose, released a long breath, and assumed an archery stance.
“Watch closely~” Elysia said with a smile.
She placed two fingers on the bowstring and exerted a slight force.
As the string drew taut, the light across the bow’s limbs gradually converged at its center, condensing into a radiant arrow of flowing light.
The originally violent Honkai energy became as docile as water in her hands.
Elysia calmly aimed the bow at the target.
Then, the arrow that had once eclipsed heaven and earth appeared once more.
