A sweet scent hit Isla’s nostrils.
She sniffed around in confusion.
It smelt like vanilla and warm skin.
It was like she was slipping into a trance.
A chuckle resounded from the end of the room but she was too disoriented to pay mind to it.
Her vision got blurry and she staggered holding onto the wall.
“What the hell is that?” Serena growled at the back of her mind.
Melinda walked closer to her, a derailed look on her face.
“You should have just listened to us and agreed.
But you never listened, that was what always got you in trouble.”
Isla knew that something very bad was about to happen.
The thought of her baby came to mind and her hand flew to her belly.
“What are you trying to do to my baby?” Isla’s voice was laced with panic.
She knew that she was in dangerous territory.
“You’re all running mad!” She added and staggered slightly.
They all chuckled at her weakened state.
She kept wincing her eyes to see better.
“We are actually thinking very clearly, young lady.” Caspian said coldly.
“Just one move from Alpha Logan, we can get everything that we want.
He wields so much power than we can think of.” Hilda clapped her hands with glee.
“You will watch them force my hand, father?” Isla looked at Caspian dead in the eyes.
He quickly averted his eyes.
He was the one person that she was supposed to count on but that wasn’t so in this case.
“You are all vile.
What do you want from me?” Isla screamed in anger, Serena was giving her some strength and she was still able to stand on her feet.
Isla’s blood ran cold, this did not look good.
“What is this madness about?
Why did he pull out a camera?”
Melinda had a sadistic smile on her face.
“It would be used to film something very interesting if you refuse to comply with us.”
“W….what do you mean?”
“If you remain stubborn we will send the video to your Alpha Logan.
So you have two options, you comply or we will send the video.
Either way we will win.”
Everyone cackled out loud, they all stared at Isla like predators.
“What did you give me?” Isla’s voice echoed firmly.
“A little incense to boost your compliance with the spicy video.” Hilda smiled sweetly at Isla.
“This bitch!” Serena growled and Isla’s eyes flashed brightly.
“I will not allow them to hurt us again, Isla.
That life is behind us now.”
“We are getting too weak.
I can barely feel my feet anymore.” Isla responded, slurry and her vision got even more hazy.
“Push me forward.
We need to get out of here before things get out of hand.”
“You’re right.”
Isla knew that she had to leave somehow.
She can’t allow them to have an upper hand.
This will ruin her, she was just starting to have a hold of her life.
She might get too weak to do anything soon so she must take advantage.
Isla pushed Serena forward and her limbs felt stronger.
She picked up a rod by the side and slammed it hard against one of the strange men.
“Whap!!!”
A pained groan came from his throat.
She lunged forward and sidestepped Hilda who wanted to take a hold of her.
The other man with the camera sped in her direction but she pulled the door open in seconds and bolted.
“Don’t let her get away!” Melinda screamed from the hospital room.
Isla increased her speed and she ran along the empty hallway.
“Someone, anyone, help me!” Isla shouted but there was no one in sight.
She was getting weaker by the second but she couldn’t let them get to her.
Her vision went blurry.
She knew that she needed to get help fast.
She has never been to this part of the hospital.
Isla turned back and she saw them so close, then she slammed hard against a hard surface.
She tripped but strong arms held her.
Her gaze turned towards a handsome man with a boyish smile and forest green eyes.
“Are you okay, Miss?” Isla looked at him and noticed that he had a coat around him.
“Please, don’t let them get me.” She quickly ran behind him.
“What is wrong?” He looked confused.
The Spencer family and their minions got to them.
“Sir, we would like to have our daughter back.” Melinda said with an innocent expression on her face.
Alex looked at Isla who shook her head.
“They are trying to hurt me, don’t let them.” Isla pleaded with tears rolling down her face.
“She is a bit disoriented and would need help.” Caspian interceded.
Alex studied them and the odd looking men that look like criminals.
“This is no mental hospital.
Also, this doesn’t look right.
I’m calling security.” He dug into his pocket and took out his phone.
“No!
There will be no need for that.
Just give us our child.” Melinda said with fake concern.
“Then you shouldn’t have a problem with this.”
In minutes they were surrounded by security and they were led out.
“This isn’t over, bitch!” Hilda screamed as they were led down the hallway.
Alex heaved a sigh and stared at a dizzy Isla.
“Thank you so much, I’m Isla.”
“It is nice to meet you, I’m Alex.”
