[Wife! It is really my wife, wuwuwu!]
[The cross-dressing looks so pretty. How are we supposed to live as actual girls?]
[Question: Can the other team members endure this? It is so gorgeous, are you trying to kill us?]
[I am going to sign up for the SR team youth training draft tonight.]
Yan Shu did not dare to say a single word. His ears were burning red, and he did not dare to look at the camera at all. Streaming like this felt like sitting on pins and needles; not only did his gameplay distort, but he even stammered when calling out enemy positions on the mic.
If it were not for fulfilling the request of yesterday’s wealthy female fan, Yan Shu really wanted to lift up his skirt and run away.
The more uncomfortable Yan Shu became, the more the chat teased him. The stream’s traffic was also higher than usual, and all kinds of virtual gifts kept dropping nonstop.
[Wife’s face is so red, hands are so white, lips are so soft!]
[He does not dare look at me! Does he like me?]
[I wanted to call you husband earlier, but with you looking like this, wife, I really cannot call you husband anymore.]
The screen was completely flooded with the word “wife,” and Yan Shu did not even dare to look at it.
After streaming for about half an hour, Yan Shu’s room was pushed to the top of the rankings, and his face was visible the moment anyone opened the streaming platform.
As more and more people poured into the stream, Yan Shu stopped talking altogether, turning into a muted player during his peak-tier match.
After staying in the stream for an hour, Yan Shu finally completed his required streaming hours.
The moment he turned off the camera and clicked end stream, Yan Shu released half a breath. The other half of his breath remained hanging in his throat because of the women’s dress he was wearing.
Once all equipment was turned off, Yan Shu directly switched off the streaming room’s lighting, lifted his skirt on tiptoe, and cautiously walked toward the back of the door. He pressed his ear against the door panel to listen for anyone passing by in the hallway, and upon confirming the coast was clear, he opened the door.
A head with long hair peeked out from the half-opened door. If the hallway lights had not illuminated Yan Shu’s face, it really would have given off a horror movie vibe.
There was not a single soul in the hallway, so Yan Shu stepped out of the streaming room. Moving forward along the empty corridor until he reached the restroom, he finally relaxed.
Yan Shu wanted to take off the wig, but after tugging at it for a long time, he found it completely immovable. He only then remembered that before the stream started, the second-team captain had deliberately used small bobby pins to secure it. Right now, even if he did a backflip, the wig would not fall off.
Helpless, Yan Shu decided to wash off his makeup first.
Staring at himself in the mirror for a long time, Yan Shu could not figure out how to remove the fake eyelashes. They had been glued on with adhesive; would pulling them off directly hurt?
Bang! The door of a restroom stall flew open.
Startled, Yan Shu jerked his hand and gave a sharp tug on his fake eyelashes. “Hiss.”
The eyelash glue was too strong, keeping them firmly glued to his eyelids.
Before Yan Shu could turn around to see who it was, Zhuoyue’s face appeared in the mirror above the sink.
Zhuoyue’s hair was somewhat messy, unlike his usual style where half his bangs were slicked up with hair gel. Loose strands covered his forehead, making him look a bit gloomy. His pair of phoenix eyes lowered slightly as he stared right at Yan Shu.
“…” Yan Shu was speechless, lowering his head and hurrying to leave.
The lighting here was dim anyway, so Zhuoyue probably had not seen his face clearly. Yan Shu decided to pretend he was just a receptionist who had walked into the wrong restroom.
Before Yan Shu could turn around, Zhuoyue grabbed him from behind and trapped him in his arms.
Yan Shu did not dare move, scared completely stiff as a chill ran through him.
After waiting for quite a while, Yan Shu did not hear any movement from the person behind him. His hair was very long, and turning his head slightly did not guarantee Zhuoyue would see his front profile.
“Do not move.” Zhuoyue’s voice was hoarse beyond recognition, his tone short and forceful.
The moment Yan Shu turned his head even slightly, he caught the strong scent of alcohol coming off Zhuoyue.
He had heard that some people got wild when drunk, and they would mess around… mess around…
What was the saying about getting wild after drinking?
Thinking that Zhuoyue mistook him for a real woman, Yan Shu closed his eyes tightly and stood as stiff as a board, resigning himself like a fish on a cutting board ready for slaughter.
Click, click!
In the dead silence, the sound of a mobile phone taking pictures rang out twice.
Yan Shu was sensitive to such sounds. He opened his eyes and saw the residual flash of the light reflected in the mirror. Looking closer, Yan Shu saw that the Zhuoyue behind him wore a triumphant smile.
So Zhuoyue had seen through his identity all along! The drunken state just now was merely a trick to make him lower his guard so he could take photos as evidence.
“What is the meaning of this?” Anxious, Yan Shu turned around to face Zhuoyue directly. He desperately wanted to grab the phone and delete those photos.
Their eyes locked, their breaths colliding. One leaned against the sink while the other braced both hands on the edge. Because Yan Shu was wearing a women’s dress, from afar, the scene looked a bit overly ambiguous.
Just as they were locked in a stalemate, footsteps echoed down the hallway.
In his panic, Yan Shu grabbed Zhuoyue, rushed quickly into one of the stalls, locked the door from the inside, and pressed against the panel to monitor the movement outside.
“Yan Shu?” Er Dui’s voice called out. “Yan Shu, are you in there?”
Ignoring Zhuoyue’s scorching gaze, Yan Shu forced himself to reply calmly. “Captain, I am changing clothes.”
“I will wait for you outside, hurry up. The receptionist said Captain Zhuo is back, and the rest of the first team will be soon too. They went out for a business dinner today, and the receptionist said Captain Zhuo drank quite a bit. What if he comes in here to throw up later and bumps into you?” Er Dui explained.
We already bumped into each other, thank you.
Just then, Zhuoyue shifted his arm, breathing heavily against the partition. It seemed the alcohol was hitting him hard, and he looked quite uncomfortable.
Terrified that Zhuoyue would suddenly speak up or push the door open to leave right then, Yan Shu pressed Zhuoyue against the partition and pleaded with his eyes for him to make no sound.
“What is wrong with you, not saying anything? Are you feeling unwell? I heard your breathing sounds a bit off.” Er Dui was right outside the door.
Yan Shu immediately denied it. “I am fine, you go ahead first. I am fine by myself, no need to wait for me.”
“Really? Are not you afraid Captain Zhuo will see you?” Er Dui asked again.
“I am not, hurry up and go.” Yan Shu was terrified that if Er Dui stayed a moment longer, Zhuoyue would cause a ruckus.
Er Dui acknowledged the reply and left.
Yan Shu pressed his ear against the door to listen for a moment, then squatted down to check through the gap at the bottom whether anyone was still there.
When Yan Shu squatted down, the slit of the burgundy long dress he was wearing exposed a large patch of fair thigh.
From Zhuoyue’s side, it was visible in crystal clear detail.
“Move aside, I am going out.” Zhuoyue impatiently reached for the door.
“What if someone is outside, I am scared…”
Zhuoyue opened his mouth as if to say something, but ultimately sighed and said with an irritated expression, “You just said a moment ago that you were not afraid.”
“But…” Yan Shu hesitated, unwilling to go out.
Now that the alcohol had worn off somewhat, Zhuoyue felt a headache coming on just looking at Yan Shu like this. Standing there and locking eyes with Yan Shu for two seconds, he bent down, hoisted him up from the floor, opened the door, and casually slung Yan Shu over his shoulder.
The world spun before his eyes. With a start, Yan Shu found himself draped across Zhuoyue’s back and gasped, “You…”
“Shut up if you do not want to be seen.” Finished speaking, Zhuoyue noticed the person on his shoulder still squirming, so he raised a hand and patted Yan Shu’s flailing upper thigh.
Before taking many steps, Zhuoyue bumped directly into his newly returned teammates.
They had all consumed quite a bit of alcohol and were supporting each other as they headed toward the restroom.
“Ca-Captain?”
Lin Qi was walking at the very front. Seeing the captain carrying a woman, his eyes widened as he rubbed them in absolute shock, thinking it was a hallucination. Ye Xuanqing, walking right behind Lin Qi, also wore a rare look of astonishment. The two of them stood frozen, blocking Zhuoyue’s path.
Hearing the voices, Yan Shu plastered himself flat over Zhuoyue’s back like a dead chicken, playing corpse without moving an inch. Fortunately, the thick wig on his head cascaded like a waterfall, blocking his face completely.
With a calm expression, Zhuoyue walked past his teammates, leaving behind a single sentence: “Get some rest early.”
Lin Qi’s mouth hung slightly open. Hesitating for a few moments, he awkwardly replied, “Captain, you too.”
After the captain carried the woman away, Lin Qi’s legs turned to jelly, and he nearly collapsed onto the floor. Grabbing Ye Xuanqing’s shoulder for support, he whispered, “Do you think… there is any chance the captain sleeps early tonight?”
With a blank expression, Ye Xuanqing watched the captain disappear into the distance, then shook his head to indicate he had no idea.
On the other side, after enduring all sorts of hardships plastered across Zhuoyue’s back, Yan Shu finally reached his dorm room.
“Your room has no one else.” With that said, Zhuoyue turned and left.
After that night, rumors spread like wildfire through the SR team that Zhuoyue had brought his girlfriend back to the dorm to spend the night.
As one of the protagonists of the gossip, Yan Shu almost made a fatal error and fed kills to the enemy crystal during practice while overhearing the second team gossiping about it.
“I heard Captain Zhuo’s girlfriend was wearing a red dress and had an amazing figure.” The second-team jungler was still a single dog who had never even held a girl’s hand; envy was written all over his face as he spoke.
Hearing the words “red dress,” the second-team captain could not help teasing Yan Shu. “My taste is actually pretty good, see? Captain Zhuo’s partner likes that kind of dress too.”
Yan Shu’s hand shook, causing him to cast his skill in the complete opposite direction. Fortunately, it was a solo hundred-star rank match, so nobody else could witness his terrible play.
Just as the second team was filled with laughter and chatter, someone pushed open the training room door.
“Who is it?” The second-team captain was about to complain about the lack of manners, but when he turned his head, he saw senior management and Zhuoyue standing there.
Zhuoyue stepped inside, scanned the training environment, and said with clear dissatisfaction, “Is this how you guys usually practice?”
Not a single soul in the second team dared to breathe loudly.
“Alright, A-Yue, just go ahead and make the announcement.” Manager Xu stood behind Zhuoyue, smiling kindly at Yan Shu the moment he entered the room.
Zhuoyue did not mention a single word about last night’s live stream. He only stated that because Yan Shu had spent this period in the second team without proper supervision, and training had been so lax, it could potentially lead to even worse negative impacts in the future.
“Er Dui, raise your team’s skill level first before you think about making money. Yan Shu, no streaming allowed from now on. I am confiscating your streaming account.” Anxious to leave, Zhuoyue dropped the last sentence right before stepping out the door. “Yan Shu is transferring to the first team as a substitute support, under my direct management.”
“Congratulations,” the second-team support offered polite well-wishes.
The clash-laner still held no good feelings toward Yan Shu. Clapping his hands, he sneered, “Good riddance. Captain Zhuo definitely wants to deal with you himself. Good riddance.”
Mid-laner Qingfeng remained silent, sitting alone by the edge as he continued practicing.
The jungler felt somewhat reluctant to see Yan Shu go. After spending all these days together, he did not feel like Yan Shu was truly the heinous villain the rumors made him out to be.
Having been inexplicably scolded by Zhuoyue just moments ago, the second-team captain was in a foul mood and kept his mouth firmly shut.
Amidst this bizarre atmosphere, Yan Shu packed up and left the second team.
