Silence claimed her.

In the mud, the silver pendant at her throat dipped into the blood around her.

The radiance didn’t just surround Eva—it began to sink into her skin, funneling toward her forehead as if her body were drinking the light itself.

“I protect my blood” a voice echoed from the ether, ancient and resonant.

“From the ashes of death, a new soul shall rise.”

Eva was far beyond hearing it.

She was drifting in the gray space between breaths, caught in a dream within a dream.

As the moon slipped from behind a heavy cloud, an otherworldly force began to pull at her spirit.

Her deathly pallor vanished, replaced by an unnatural, terrifying flush of heat.

Meanwhile, the goon’s laugher cut through the tension, sharp and ugly.

“Here we go, little sissy,” the other goon chuckled, his voice dripping with malice.

“No one is coming to save you now.”

They all didn’t see any thing unusual—not yet.

They were too busy savoring the terror of the man on the ground.

“Look at him,” Ethan mocked, twisting his grip.

“Crying for a girl who’s already gone.”

Ethan slowly approached Kevins.

“Boy, ain’t you curious, to who wants you dead? Well, you gonna die anyway. So am gonna tell …” He said.

Kevin’s terror made her heart stutter in a way that wasn’t human.

The man was frozen, trembling so hard his teeth clicked.

“Run….” Evelyn tried to shout, but her throat didn’t work, it was just a fain whisper.

Besides, Ethan after assuring that Eva was no more pulled herel, to the bush nearby and dumped her lifeless body there.

She felt a force pull her up, then she fell forward, out of weakness, her bones were suddenly began rearranging, pulling at her muscles with the force of a tectonic shift.

Her clothes tore—a sharp, ripping sound that seemed distant.

She saw her hand on the ground, the nails lengthening into thick, black talons.

The pain was astronomical, but a wild, screaming adrenaline drowned it out, changing her fear into pure territorial rage.

She didn’t realize she was becoming a beast, she only realized that these men were going to kill an innocent harmless man who needed her help.

She lunged.

It wasn’t a run, it was a launch, her new, muscular, furry hind legs propelling her at impossible speed.

Shouted Ethan but unfortunately it was already too late.

One of the goons didn’t have time to turn.

She hit him like a freight train, the force throwing him ten feet back to the ground.

He gasped, a wet sound, as her claw—long, curved, obsidian black—slashed across his chest.

He was gone before he hit the ground.

Kill….

The thought wasn’t hers.

It was the scent of blood on the wind.

Eva gained unlimited power after resurrecting from the dead, although she couldn’t master it immediately, it was morethan enough to deal with only two goons.

The remaining goon Ethan was stupefied with what happened, he immediately pulled a knife.

“What the hell are you—”

He snapped a knief inside her, but Eva didn’t feel the knife go in.

She felt the impact, a dull pressure on her left shoulder, and then the scent of his fear.

She clamped her jaws down on his forearm.

The bone snapped with a sickening crunch.

Aaah….” Ethan screamed, dropping the knife, as she whipped her head, throwing him to the ground with terrifying power.

She surged over him, a massive, lupine shape, her eyes glowing like twin embers of molten silver.

The struggle was brief and decisive.

With a final surge of primal strength, the threat was neutralized, and the clearing fell into a heavy, ringing silence.

The only sound remaining was the ragged breathing of the creature and the faint, rhythmic whimpering of the man on the ground.

The figure that had been Evelyn stood over the scene, her chest heaving, the silver light of the moon catching the coarse fur along her spine.

A strange, detached confusion filled her mind; the world looked different now, filtered through scents and heat signatures rather than colors and words.

She looked down at the large, powerful limbs that replaced her own, the dark claws retracted slightly against the dirt, she almost panicked too.

Kevin looked up, his face pale and frozen in a mask of disbelief.

He remained motionless, his eyes locked onto the towering, lupine silhouette that had intervened.

He felt like saying something, but he couldn’t, he knew he was next after the goons.

“Will this beast kill me now?….” He thought.

But the creature didn’t move toward him.

Instead, with a sudden, fluid turn, she bounded away from the clearing, her powerful legs eating up the distance as she vanished into the thick shadows of the bush, leaving behind only the echo of the wind through the trees.

Moments later, Kevin heard only a scream. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.

Eva ran so fast and grabbed him before trembling into the pool.

Witnessing the whole scene, a conflict expression appeared on his face.

“This lady may be annoying but she was willing to sacrifice her life to save mine.” he thought.

Though their encounter earlier was purely a chance.

Kevin’s legs were so weak that he had to craw like a baby to reach the waters edges of the pool, his emotions were in turmoil because he was unsure weather he wanted Eva to resurface after the argument earlier on.

Since she had seen his nakedness and even performed mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Well, Eva was so fast that Kevin didn’t realize that she too was naked this time round.

Kevins bit his lips and waited but there wasn’t any signs of her resurfacing.

He wondered if she had died or survived, he was uncertain of her fate.

Tears welled up in his eyes that he couldn’t stop them from rolling down his cheeks.

Minutes later, he had a sound of a car horn.

It was his bodyguard, who was searching for him.

With Eva’s clothes on him he patiently waited, but Eva didn’t emerge from the deep pool, he was certain that she might had already sank and died.

But before leaving he whispered to the waters.

” If you’re still alive, my name is Kevins.

See you in my next life and don’t forget me if we meet again…”

Kevin turned around and left, unbeknownst to him that Eva was listening under the waters.

“Uuum! Kevins… What a nice name! Just like the owner”

Returning home Kevins seemed to have lost his mind, he order some of his family bodyguards to dive into the pool in search of Eva, but there wasn’t any trace of hers.

He ordered them to investigate information about the young lady, soon the results come that she was Eva walvren, famously know is daughter in law who lived life a dog in her in law’s house.
