Miyako rose from her bed and looked out the window.
What escaped from her well-shaped lips was a sigh.
“Rain again…”
As she brushed Miyako’s tea-colored hair, Fuuka spoke.
“There’s no need to be so downcast, you know.”
“But I wanted to go on a picnic with you, Fuuka-chan!”
“If you puff out your cheeks like that, your face will stay that way.”
“Muuu”
Pitter-patter, raindrops beat against the roof of the cottage where the two lived.
In the chilly corner of the room, near the stove where water was boiling, Umi was curled up in a ball. With a “Nyaaa~” and a big yawn, there was no trace left of her former appearance as a national treasure-class water spirit – she had completely adopted the attitude of an ordinary cat.
‘I can make it rain, but I can’t make it stop, nyaa~’
She murmured this before curling up again.
This steady rain had been falling since yesterday. Aside from the continuous rain, it was a peaceful time. Odina seemed to truly be resting at her family home, keeping the two of them a secret.
Four days remained until the promised deadline.
If she couldn’t make Fuuka say she was “happy” within these four days, this life would be over.
Miyako knew that Fuuka wouldn’t break that promise.
That’s exactly why.
She wanted to fulfill this small promise of going on a picnic during these days.
“Uu… I’m so bummed out.”
“Rainy days do tend to make one feel gloomy. You shouldn’t dwell on it too much.”
“Right now is the perfect season. It’s truly beautiful, the flower field nearby. When I passed by in a carriage before, it was really—”
Miyako felt her eyelids growing heavy.
Even though she had just finished breakfast, she couldn’t fight the drowsiness, though she thought it was rather lazy of her.
“…Miyako?”
“Mm, sorry, I’m just feeling a bit sleepy.”
“You must be tired. Why don’t you sleep in your bed?”
“Uu, no way!”
Miyako struggled against her sleepiness.
With so few days left.
She wanted to spend every possible moment with Fuuka.
“Uu~, if Fuuka-chan sleeps with me, then I’ll sleep.”
She meant it half as a joke.
She loved Fuuka.
She wanted to be with her more. To hold her close. Yet the approaching time limit. Without realizing it, Miyako had been accumulating stress from that fact.
But.
Fuuka was here surely because of Miyako’s selfishness.
So, no matter how much Miyako wished for it.
Surely Fuuka wouldn’t allow them to sleep in the same bed.
That’s what she thought, but.
“Very well.”
“…Huh!?”
Fuuka said quietly.
“You want to sleep with me, don’t you? Very well.”
She said.
Her ears were burning bright red.
Umi let out a “Nyaa~” yawn and went out through the window.
As if sensing something, she glanced briefly at the two.
Miyako found it strange.
Even though her heart was pounding so hard.
Why wouldn’t this irresistible drowsiness disappear?
The futon they slipped into quickly warmed with their body heat.
The morning drowsiness smelled of flowers.
A soft nape.
Warm breasts.
Lustrous black hair.
Ah. I’m sleepy… so sleepy.
