When Qi Zhi came out after his shower, he saw Qi Ran fiddling with a watch at his desk. He recognized it a Chopard L.U.C., with an official price of 249,000. Qi Zhennan owned one, and he had previously mentioned he would get one for Qi Zhi as well.
Has it been given to Qi Ran now?
He turned his head away, catching Zhang Dong’s eyes as the latter was peeking over.
Seeing the large swath of red on Qi Zhi’s neck outside his pajamas, Zhang Dong couldn’t stop the corners of his mouth from curling up: Serves you right!
Qi Zhi said nothing, hobbling back to his own desk with his crutches.
Li Jian arrived back just then, carrying the takeout containers. Before the lights were extinguished for the night, he first helped apply medicine to Qi Zhi’s foot, waited for him to finish his meal, and then cleared away the trash.
“Do you need help getting into bed?”
“Yes, please,” Qi Zhi said, holding out his arms.
Once Qi Zhi was lying comfortably, Li Jian left with the trash.
“Qi Zhi, who was that person just now? A hired caregiver?” Once Li Jian had finally left, Qi Ran turned around to ask. He was still fiddling with that watch, his intention to show off being incredibly obvious.
Qi Zhi didn’t want to deal with him. He sat on the bed with his legs propped up, opened the document on his phone, and began revising the novel.
To be honest, he didn’t quite know where to start. He never imagined that one day, the characters he wrote would walk out of a book to find him and demand that he rewrites the story’s content.
As it was getting late, Zhang Dong went into the bathroom to shower. A moment later, a rage-filled roar that could reach the heavens erupted: “Qi Zhi, do you have a fucking death wish?!”
Qi Zhi couldn’t help but curl his lips into a smile.
Zhang Dong rushed out shortly after, charging toward Qi Zhi’s bed in a furious dither. “What the hell did you do?” he barked.
Qi Zhi tilted his head, looking completely innocent. “I should be asking you that. What did you do?”
Zhang Dong: “…”
“What? Nothing to say?” Qi Zhi retracted his propped-up legs to prevent a sneak attack from Zhang Dong. “You put hair removal cream in my shampoo and intentionally turned up the water temperature. Naturally, I can use your toothbrush to scrub the toilet, use your towel as a doormat, and then pour all three of your toiletries down the drain. If I’m miserable, none of you are going to have a good time either.”
He was a crybaby, but that didn’t mean he would suffer in silence.
Previously, he didn’t want to bother with these people; plus, his relationships with the three of them had been quite good before, so he had always held a sliver of hope deep down. He hoped they would realize this wasn’t his fault, and that he hadn’t intended to steal anything from Qi Ran. He hoped they could live together in peace.
But now, there was no need for that.
Whether it was Qi Zhennan, Zhuang Yuexiang, or Qi Ran and Zhang Dong—he no longer held onto any hope. It was impossible for them to coexist peacefully, let alone be friends. They could only be enemies or strangers.
So why bother being considerate?
If you’re not happy, just fight!
“You actually used my toothbrush to scrub the toilet?” Zhang Dong’s eyes widened.
“That’s right,” Qi Zhi said, his beautiful phoenix eyes widening in tandem as he covered his mouth in mock surprise. “You didn’t use it already, did you? Did you notice the fragrance of… ‘recycled nutrients’?”
“URP—!”
Zhang Dong turned and threw himself into the bathroom, vomiting until the world spun.
Qi Ran, whose attempt to show off had failed: “…”
Why does it feel like Qi Zhi has changed?
Zhuang Yuexiang, who had remained silent: “…”
I suppose this is Zhang Dong’s retribution.
