Jiang Tan’s condition was clearly much better than before. When she opened the door, Jiang Tan was biting into a piece of preserved rib and looked over blankly.

Jiang Yue was silent for a moment and placed the suppressant on a nearby shelf. “I’ve put the suppressant here. If it’s not enough, send a message to Xiuya-jie’s phone. She’ll tell me when she sees it.”

Jiang Tan quickly put down her chopsticks and nodded in agreement.Full novel: The Madly Beautiful Omega Always Wants to Have Children With Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Jiang Yue gave her one last look to confirm she was indeed much better before closing the door again.

In fact, having been marked by Jiang Tan again, she herself couldn’t help but think of Jiang Tan.

But her self-control was currently holding up; she was able to suppress those thoughts.

Inside the house, Jiang Tan went to the door, picked up the suppressant, and looked at it. Thinking of the box she had used up, her heart ached a little.

Mainly because they hadn’t even been effective.

Involuntarily, she brought the suppressant to her nose, as if she could still smell Jiang Yue’s lingering scent on it.

Realizing what she was doing, Jiang Tan quickly put her hand down, mentally scolding herself for being a pervert as her face turned bright red.

She didn’t choose to use it yet. After Jiang Yue’s earlier soothing, she felt that, for a short while, she wouldn’t need these cold things.

Putting the suppressant away, Jiang Tan sat back down at the table to eat. As she ate, she couldn’t help but space out.

Jiang Yue had seen her in that state and was still willing to soothe her—did that mean her opinion of her hadn’t worsened?

Jiang Tan bit her lip. After all, having an Alpha they had no relationship with touch their things like that—normally, an Omega should feel insulted.

Jiang Tan guessed that the reason Jiang Yue endured such a thing and was willing to soothe her was likely because she was the only person Jiang Yue had spent a long time with after losing her memory.

She might be afraid that refusing would drive Jiang Tan away.

Jiang Tan’s expression dimmed slightly, feeling disgusted with herself for making such an unreasonable request.

Jiang Tan’s rut this time had a complex feeling of being both satisfying and agonizing. It was satisfying because Jiang Yue would briefly soothe her when she came to deliver food, but agonizing because desire would flare up after she left, as if trying to tear her apart.

After three full days of this back-and-forth, Jiang Tan finally felt the situation ease up on the evening of the third day. She slumped on the bed as if exhausted, her gaze blankly fixed on the pillow Jiang Yue had used, which was right beside her.

Her keen Alpha sense of smell allowed her to still catch the lingering scent of Jiang Yue’s shampoo.

Only now, it was almost entirely covered by her own pheromones…

They both clearly used the same shampoo, so why did it produce a different fragrance on Jiang Yue?

Richer, warmer, and…

More heart-stirring.

Jiang Tan felt that someone like Jiang Yue was very much like a succubus—and the kind that could make people fall head over heels for her without even trying to seduce them.

Thinking of the ring Jiang Yue wore on her ring finger, Jiang Tan couldn’t help but wonder what kind of person could win Jiang Yue’s favor.

To be able to catch Jiang Yue’s eye, they surely couldn’t be ordinary, right?

Jiang Tan, who had never been an honor student since she was a child, felt a dullness in her heart. If she had the chance, she quite wanted to meet that person—to see what it was about them that attracted Jiang Yue.

Once her body had regained some strength, Jiang Tan slowly got up and looked at the mess on the bed…

Jiang Tan: “…”

She really had lost her mind at the time.

Her face felt hot with shame. She hurried to tidy up the things on the bed—washing what needed to be washed and putting back what needed to be returned. Then, she took the most refreshing bath she’d had in three days, washing away all her fatigue. Her condition had slowly returned to normal.

She sent a message to Wang Xiuya’s phone. Since it was almost dinner time, Wang Xiuya told her to come over to their place to eat. However, considering her situation—though much better, she was still technically in a rut—and since Wang Xiuya was also an Omega, Jiang Tan was still afraid of having an effect on her and declined.

Not long after, Jiang Yue returned with her change of clothes from the past few days. The first thing she did was check Jiang Tan’s condition.

“Feeling better?”

“Better.”

Jiang Tan nodded and stepped forward to take the things from her. “I’ve troubled Grandma Wang and the others these past few days. Let’s treat them to a meal tomorrow.”

After all, Jiang Yue had lived there for three days. Even if Grandma Wang and the others were very nice, they should still show some appreciation.

Jiang Yue nodded. “Should I go buy the groceries?”

In her current state, it was best if Jiang Tan didn’t go out yet.

“Yeah, okay. Just buy whatever you want to eat.” Jiang Tan nodded. Perhaps because they had both delivered food before, they didn’t really want to eat takeout.

Jiang Yue went out again, and Jiang Tan began to clean up the house. At the thought of starting work again tomorrow, she couldn’t help but sigh.

She uselessly wished that money would fall from the sky, or that she’d win some huge prize, so she could just lie around comfortably like a parasite without having to work.

The more she thought… the more useless she felt.

Jiang Tan silently chided herself. By the time she had finished most of the cleaning, Jiang Yue had just returned with the groceries. Seeing how Jiang Yue had to catch her breath every time she came up, Jiang Tan felt a bit guilty.

“Still, you’ve been climbing these stairs for so long. How come your stamina hasn’t improved even a little?” Jiang Tan couldn’t help but be curious. She was still gasping for air like this.

Jiang Yue: “…” She felt that her stamina had actually improved a bit, but climbing up all at once while carrying things—it would be hard not to pant, right?

Seeing her not answer, Jiang Tan felt even more guilty. She gave a light cough and said, “Once we save some money later, let’s rent a better apartment. Even if we can’t afford one with an elevator, at least let’s get one on a floor that isn’t so high.”

Jiang Yue: “…”

She frowned slightly. “Can’t you have a bit more ambition and say we’ll buy a house?”

Those words sounded “bitter” no matter how one heard them.

“You can’t just brag without the ambition to back it up.” Jiang Tan said casually as she walked toward the kitchen. “I know exactly how much I’m worth. Unless I go and commit a robbery.”

But she was a law-abiding citizen, so that path was closed.

Jiang Yue: “…”

She was actually rendered speechless by Jiang Tan’s words.

Jiang Tan reached the kitchen door and looked back. Seeing her still frowning slightly, she couldn’t help but laugh. “Alright, alright. I’ll work hard and buy a house for you to live in comfortably.”

Jiang Yue: “…”

Why is my heart feeling even more complicated?

Jiang Yue also walked into the kitchen and said softly, “Things are actually very good as they are now.”

Being able to meet someone like Jiang Tan after losing her memory and having a stable place to live was already considered very good.

Jiang Tan looked sideways at her, pursed her lips, and went back to what she was doing. She grumbled, “Well, you’re quite easily satisfied.”

With current conditions, there were times when Jiang Tan herself would feel a sense of decadence, thinking life was just going to be like this.

Jiang Yue glanced at her and said, “Let me cook tonight’s meal.”

“Huh?” Jiang Tan looked at her, somewhat puzzled.

“While I was at the Wangs’ these past few days, I asked Xiuya-jie to teach me when she was cooking.” So the groceries she bought today were all for dishes Wang Xiuya had taught her.

Jiang Tan hadn’t expected Jiang Yue to actually learn how to cook while staying over there. However, at least it seemed they had gotten along quite well. After a moment of hesitation, Jiang Tan gave up her position as head chef. “Then you try. Be careful not to hurt yourself.”

Although Jiang Yue had been helping her out before, Jiang Tan hadn’t actually let her cook a meal yet.

Jiang Yue’s expression became more serious. She nodded and let Jiang Tan help her put on the apron, rolling her sleeves up a couple of turns.

While cooking, Jiang Tan also asked about her time at the other place.

“It was fine. They are all very good people.” Even little Nannan was extremely well-behaved; when Jiang Yue helped with her schoolwork, she would sit there obediently and listen to her. The teaching experience was very good.

However, after all, it wasn’t her own home. No matter how nice the people there were, she would never feel quite so comfortable staying there.

Thinking of this, Jiang Yue’s movements slowed down slightly.

She had unknowingly begun to treat this place as her home. When she was with Jiang Tan, she felt no sense of discomfort at all.

“How do you plan to cook this dish?” Jiang Tan asked Jiang Yue as she trimmed the green beans.

“Stir-fry them with preserved meat. Xiuya-jie made it, and it was very fragrant,” Jiang Yue said, coming back to her senses.

“Oh, then I should be able to eat two bowls of rice today!” Jiang Tan said. It sounded so fragrant and perfect with rice.

Hearing this, Jiang Yue laughed. “Don’t you eat two bowls of rice every day?”

Her praise was entirely lacking in sincerity.

“Well, even if it’s delicious, I have to maintain a regular diet! What if I stretch my stomach too much?” Jiang Tan muttered. She was quite satisfied with her current figure. Although she ate more than an average girl, because she engaged in physical labor, she was the type who looked thin but actually had muscle when she took off her clothes. Her overall lines were very smooth; she was definitely not the frail type.

Speaking of which, Jiang Yue couldn’t help but look at Jiang Tan, thinking that with Jiang Tan’s level of self-restraint, she probably wouldn’t get fat in the future, right?

The two chatted while they cooked. Looking at the way Jiang Yue handled the cooking—though she was still a bit green overall—it really was quite decent. The appearance of the stir-fried dishes was actually okay; they looked very appetizing.

Looking at the dishes she had cooked, the corners of Jiang Yue’s lips curled up in an imperceptible small arc. Her expression was pleasant. “It seems I do have some talent for cooking after all.”

What was with this slightly haughty tone?

Jiang Tan secretly glanced at Jiang Yue and couldn’t help but laugh. She didn’t dare to point out how “cocky” she was and said supportively, “It’s much better than when I first started!”

The delight in Jiang Yue’s eyes grew even more pronounced.

She stir-fried another plate of green vegetables, and the steamed egg with shrimp on the side was also ready. Jiang Tan put on oven mitts before Jiang Yue and carried the steamed egg to the dining table outside, calling out, “Don’t worry about tidying up; come and eat first.”

Seeing her carry the dish out, Jiang Yue wanted to wash the pan she had just used.

“It won’t be long.” Jiang Yue finished tidying up and washed her hands before coming to the table. She saw Jiang Tan holding her phone, taking almost a 360-degree shot of the meal on the table.

Jiang Yue paused. “What are you doing?”

“Taking pictures! I’m going to post them on my Moments,” Jiang Tan said as a matter of course.

Jiang Yue blinked. Watching Jiang Tan look for angles from every position, she felt an inexplicable softening in her heart.

It was just a meal—and a very simple one with only three dishes—yet Jiang Tan acted as if it were something so precious that it had to be recorded.

Seeing her finally stop and stare at her phone, Jiang Yue asked softly, “Is the photo done? Can we eat now?”

“Mmhmm, we can eat.” Even as she spoke, Jiang Tan’s hands didn’t stop as she edited the text and posted a Moment.

She wasn’t someone who posted on Moments often, but she happened to be very well-liked. When she suddenly posted, the people who saw it couldn’t help but leave comments.

【Give me a bite (Giggle)】

Looking at the comments below, Jiang Tan replied to the “great skills” one, saying it wasn’t her who made it. However, when she got to the word “friend,” her finger paused for a brief second.

She looked up at Jiang Yue, only to see her already picking up her chopsticks and eating slowly. She even returned a slightly puzzled look when Jiang Tan looked over.
