Keegan’s POV

It had been two days since she blocked the trajectory and took the bullet meant for me.

I stayed down in the dungeon.

The air was thick with the scent of damp concrete and old blood.

My men packed the corridors, shouting and yelling as they cheered me on.

I spun backward, launching myself off the balls of my feet to leap toward the captive.

I drove my knee straight into his jaw.

The impact cracked through the room, sending him flying backward into the stone wall.

He hit the masonry and slid down, completely limp.

“WOOOHHOOHH!!” My associates cheered.

One of our strongest captives now lay unconscious on the cold, dusty floor.

My gaze shifted to the other man locked in the cell.

His face drained of color.

He dropped to his knees, bowing his head toward the floorboards.

“Please, Mister! I-I’m still not well—”

I hissed, a low, predatory sound that cut him off instantly.

I jerked my head toward the door.

Killian understood the silent order immediately, stepping forward to unbolt the iron gate and drag the trembling man out by his collar.

A scowl twisted my mouth.

I watched the captive shake and decided he wasn’t worth the exertion.

“Never mind, Killian… he’s too much of a coward to waste my knuckles on,” I retorted, turning my back on the cell.

Instead, I locked eyes with Killian.

I raised a single finger, pointing it directly at his chest, then signaled for him to step up and attack me.

Killian’s face tightened in shock.

“Boss, I know you’re mad, but this isn’t justifiable,” he grumbled.

My jaw twitched.

I didn’t want a lecture; I wanted a fight.

I walked straight into his personal space, my boots heavy against the ground.

“Are you afraid?” I groaned.

Killian exhaled a heavy sigh, shifting his weight and fixing his composure into a solid combat stance.

“SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!!!” I screamed, lunging forward.

I threw a heavy left hook, but Killian was fast.

He swiftly dodged the trajectory of my fist, dipping beneath my guard.

Before I could reset, he drove his elbow forward, catching me squarely across the face.

The blunt force snapped my head back.

Heat flared in my cheek as we parted, Killian stepping back to let me recover my balance.

“Boss…” he started, his voice tense.

I wiped a smear of blood from my lip and let out a sharp, dangerous smirk.

I charged again, driving a brutal punch straight into his stomach.

He gasped, absorbing the blow, and instantly countered by stomping his heavy boot down on my right foot to pin me in place.

He coiled his fist, launching a straight right toward my face, but I wrenched my upper body back just enough to let the wind of his knuckles graze past my nose.

Using his forward momentum against him, I spun into his blind spot.

I threw my entire weight backward, slamming my spine into the ground and driving him down hard against the concrete floor.

The roar from the crowd grew deafening.

I broken the hold, grabbed him by the tactical vest, and threw him sideways against the iron bars of the cell wall.

A loud, metallic clanking sound vibrated across the entire subterranean level.

“AAARRGG!!” Killian groaned in pain, clutching his ribs as he struggled to find his footing.

I steadied my stance, bouncing on the balls of my feet, waiting for his next strike.

Instead of coming at me, he raised an open palm.

“I surrender, Boss!” he gasped out.

Both of our chests heavily moved up and down as our lungs fought to grasp some air.

I didn’t say a word.

I turned on my heel and walked out of the fighting ring, leaving my men behind as I paced down the narrow, dimly lit path toward the exit.

As I walked, a vivid scene flashed through my mind: Savannah, desperate and bleeding, trying to flee from Caspian’s hands.

“Tsk. Dumbass,” I scowled to myself, pushing through the heavy door and heading upstairs.

Bare-chested and covered in sweat and dirt, I walked down the quiet hallway toward Savannah’s makeshift recovery room.

The hinges groaned quietly as I pushed the door open.

A heavy, sterile silence welcomed me inside.

I walked over to the side of the bed.

Her eyes were still tightly shut.

The unnatural paleness of her skin made a cold knot of worry tighten in my gut.

“Damn it, baby, wake up…” I murmured, my voice dropping to a low rasp as I tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear.

“Come on. I want to treat you better, so please open your damn gorgeous eyes. I miss you, my attitude queen,” I added, staring down at her unmoving form.

I lost track of time.

Hours blurred together in that room, but no matter how long I stared at her, the dark thoughts wouldn’t leave my head.

The rage came back, hot and suffocating.

I turned and barged outside, the fury fuming through my veins until I reached the main hall.

“VINCENTHIUS!!!” I howled, my voice echoing off the high ceilings of the dining hall where my men were currently devouring their food.

The entire room went dead silent.

Everyone alerted, abandoning their utensils to lock their gaze on me.

“Kidnap Cassandra and lock her in one of our holding rooms immediately!” I instructed, the order cutting through the silence like a blade.

A few hushed whispers broke out among my consigliere and caporegime.

Meanwhile, my underboss kept his composure, simply nodding to acknowledge the command.

“Special treatment, Boss?” one of them asked.

“I envy her, Boss. Why not drag Riego into a cell and bruise him up the way you just did to me?” Killian muttered, limping into the hall while leaning heavily on a crutch.

“SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!” I growled, the raw anger and frustration in my voice causing the men nearby to stiffen.

“Kidnap her now and send the threats directly to Riego’s mansion,” I commanded coldly.

They bowed their heads, moving out of the mansion to execute the order.

My hand curled into a tight fist, my knuckles turning white while my jaw remained clenched in a vice grip.

Needing an outlet before I tore one of my own men apart, I headed down to the reinforced dark room—a soundproofed space where I could let my frustration burst without collateral damage to the associates or the estate staff.

I walked straight to the secure cabinet, grabbed a vial of the heavy sedative, and took it.

Within minutes, the intoxicating, heavy effect of the drug took hold, making my vision blur and tilt.

Before the haze fully took over, I ordered the guards outside to lock the heavy iron door with chains so I couldn’t get out while under the influence.

Then, the storm hit.

My head throbbed violently as I grabbed a heavy wooden chair and shattered it against the concrete wall. Visit g.com for the full chapter.

I moved through the room like a cyclone, smashing and punching everything within arm’s reach.

I grabbed the heavy drapes and ripped them away from the wall, tearing the fabric apart with my bare hands.

I threw myself against the new oak bed, hoisting it up and flipping it completely upside down before kicking the frame until the wood splintered.

I kept tearing, breaking, and destroying everything in sight.

Hours passed, and the momentum didn’t slow.

The venom inside me kept bursting every single minute, fueled by the image of Savannah on that death bed.

The thought of her dying fucked with my head so badly that it made me want to tear that bastard Caspian limb from limb.

Finally, my energy dropped out.

My chest moved relentlessly up and down as I collapsed against the wall, trying to calm my breathing.

Everything around me was a total mess of broken wood, shattered glass, and torn fabric.

My hands had gone completely numb, the bruised knuckles swollen and bleeding from the impact against the concrete.

I pulled at my hair in sheer frustration, staring blankly at the destruction.

A sharp vibration broke through the silence of the room.

I checked my screen when a message popped up.

My gaze shifted instantly to the text, seeing it was from Dr. Ellise, the physician in charge of Savannah’s care.

From: Dr. Ellise

Keegan, she’s awake.

The adrenaline hit me instantly.

I stood up, completely disregarding the heavy atmosphere of the high-stakes meeting I was now sitting in.

A disappointed, hardened look etched onto the faces of the other Mafia Bosses gathered around the table, including my father, who sat directly next to me.

I turned and made my way toward the heavy metal exit doors, but a hand slammed down on the table, stopping me in my tracks.

“Keegan!” It was Uncle Roswell.

His face was flushed crimson, ready to burst in rage, but I kept my expression entirely neutral.

“Son, let’s fix this sit-down first,” my dad renounced, his voice carrying the heavy weight of authority.

My jaw twitched.

Annoyance etched deep into my features, but knowing the consequences of breaking protocol during an alliance meeting, I forced myself back into my seat.

Across the table, the Salvadors’ eyes were locked onto mine, while Riego gave me a smug, annoying smirk.

“You are all aware of what happened, aren’t you?” Uncle Roswell asked, his eyes sweeping across the council.

I remained silent, not bothering to give him an answer, so my father spoke up to fill the void.

“Roswell, it’s your son who caused this trouble. My girl nearly died because of your boy’s recklessness,” my dad retorted, leaning forward.

“Are you telling me that we are the ones in the wrong?! DAMN IT, CIFFARELLI!!!” Roswell’s voice grumbled so loudly through the room that the expressions of the minor bosses turned to sheer terror.

“Calm down, Mr. Salvador. Where is your professionalism?” one of the older bosses retorted, disgust tracing the lines of his aged face.

“THE HECK WITH YOUR PROFESSIONALISM, VIRSKOV?!” Roswell shouted, veins popping out at his temple as he slammed his fist on the mahogany wood.

“They fucking kidnapped my princess, then caused a bloodbath at my son’s mansion!”

“Let the kids fix their dispute among themselves, Salvador,” my dad said, his tone remaining calm, calculated, and infuriatingly detached.

I scoffed aloud, drawing every eye back to my side of the table.

“If you’re all done blabbing nonsense, I’m leaving. My time is as precious as gold,” I said, my voice lethal and hostile.

Without waiting for permission, I stood up and stormed toward the door.

Behind me, I heard Riego scowl, his voice echoing just before the heavy doors slammed shut.

“Tsk! Who is she really to you, Keegan?”

I kept walking, not giving a single fuck about his question.
