The monochromatic grey girl from earlier sluggishly wandered into the alley. She looked thoroughly annoyed, crossing her arms as she slurred, "Why didn't you guys just stand still back there? I lined up my area-of-effect attack perfectly and everything."
Tony and Smiling Girl both pivoted on their heels, staring at her with wide eyes. "Wait... you?!" they yelled in unison. "You were the lightning storm?!"
The grey girl huffed, rolling her eyes. "Yeah, of course it was me. First, I get turned into whatever the hell this frilly nightmare is, feeling like I just pulled an eleven-hour shift at a retail job. Then, you other magical things won't clear the map fast enough so I can just go home and go to sleep! I was trying to optimize the cleanup."
Smiling Girl's manic grin turned incredibly sharp, a hysterical laugh bubbling up from her throat. "Are you kidding me right now?!"
"Why are you laughing?! This is serious!" Tony shrieked, clutching his pink pigtails in a state of pure, traumatized panic. "She is literally dropping tactical airstrikes on our heads because she wants a nap!"
The grey girl grit her teeth, completely ignoring them. She collapsed right onto the dirty pavement of the alleyway, curling into a ball. "You know what... whatever. I'm just sleeping right here."
Before Tony could attempt to drag the sleeping girl out of the dirt, a violent tremor shook the entire city block. The asphalt cracked open as a massive, towering behemoth of an alien entered the battlefield. Down the street, the Stoic Samurai and the Rocket Maniac were already desperately fighting it-while simultaneously still trying to kill each other. High-explosive rockets and kinetic slashes were detonating everywhere.
The sheer chaos of the scene was overwhelming. Hopeless Girl immediately burst into pathetic, streaming tears again. Grey Girl was already snoring softly through the tremors. And Smiling Girl was just laughing hysterically, vibrating with uncontrollable adrenaline.
Tony backed up against the brick wall, utterly terrified. "Wh... what on earth is that thing?!"
Looking for any way to deflect her own rising panic, Smiling Girl leaned over to Tony, her forced voice dripping with dark sarcasm. "It's a big alien, dummy! Wow, it looks so tough... I bet a regular, defenseless girl like Alice would get hurt by that thing so easily!"
She intended it as a mock. She didn't expect the immediate, catastrophic reaction.
A sickeningly intense, neon-pink aura violently erupted from Tony's body, shattering the windows of the surrounding buildings. His eyes went completely vacant and dark.
"Like hell it would ever touch her," Pink hissed, her voice overlapping with a terrifying, echoey resonance.
In a blinding flash of pink glitter, a skyscraper-sized, absurdly heavy pastel mallet materialized in her delicate hands. Tony didn't even flinch at the weight. With a single, fluid, motion, she brought the gargantuan pink hammer crashing down from the heavens, straight onto the massive alien.
For two agonizing seconds, the entire world went dead silent. The atmospheric pressure shifted so violently that everyone's ears popped in unison.
CRASH!!!
The shockwave blew the smoke clean out of the city. The giant alien didn't even have time to scream before it was entirely pancaked into a messy, oozing puddle of purple goo by a mountain of pure, unhinged obsession.
Silence fell over the ruined street.
All four of the magical girls-including the Samurai and the Maniac who had paused mid-stride-were now staring at Tony, completely shell-shocked and wide-eyed. Even the sleeping grey girl had opened one terrified eye.
Smiling Girl's manic grin had completely vanished. Her face was entirely normal, her jaw hanging open in pure, unadulterated horror as she squeaked, "Geez... it... it was just a joke!"
