After getting home from the Lilien Trading Company, I headed to the Workshop.
There was still time before dinner. Let me get as much done as I can.
First, I'll make the Magic tool I promised for Uncle Alex.
The basic structure was already done, so it didn't take that long to make.
Still, this is something for Uncle Alex. I didn't cut corners on the fine adjustments, and I finished it with ease of use in mind.
Alright, done. Now then... I guess I should rewrite this messy handwriting of a spec sheet into something I can actually hand to someone-
...Yeah, this is about as good as it gets.
"Noah, you there?" I called out.
"At your service, sir. Right here," Noah stepped forward.
I left the Workshop and called for Noah.
"Can you read this?" I asked, holding up the sheet.
Uncle Alex could probably read the handwriting on the spec sheet.
But the people actually using it are the craftsmen at the company. If they can't understand it, there's no point.
If Noah can read it, it should be fine.
"I am unable to read it, sir. ...The circuit diagram appears clean, however," Noah remarked, squinting at the page.
Rewrite it... Okay, how about this-
"...I am able to read it, sir, though your handwriting remains as unique as ever," he admitted.
Thank goodness. If Noah can read it, the craftsmen at the company should get it too.
"I'd like you to deliver this spec sheet and the cooling Magic tool to Uncle Alex tomorrow afternoon," I instructed.
"Very good, sir," Noah bowed.
"Thanks," I said.
It's about time for dinner. A little early, but I guess I'll head to the Dining Hall.
While I waited in the Dining Hall drinking tea, Dad, Mom, and Tiana all showed up.
Today's menu was light and refreshing-perfect for when the summer heat kills your appetite.
Man, this kind of food really hits the spot when it's hot. As I ate and thought about that-
"Finn, I gave yours to Emile. The moment training ended, he rushed back to his dorm. Well, I get it. I used mine in my office all day today, and it was so comfortable I got tons of work done," Dad told me with a grin.
"Really? That's great," I replied.
"Just as I figured, the subordinates who came to drop off documents didn't want to leave. They're probably all gathered in Emile's Dorm Room right now. Hahaha!" he laughed.
"It wasn't too cold?" I asked.
"Nope, it was just right! I'm not stuck in my office all day, so that level of coolness is a big help," Dad reassured me.
So for knights, about twenty percent less output works well. For officials, around thirty percent less-same as Mom and Tiana-seems about right.
"...Oh, should I make one for Big Brother Philip too?" I mused.
"Who knows. Knowing Philip, he's probably already cooling his room with magic... Still, even so, giving him a Magic tool would be better than constantly using Mana," Dad replied.
I guess I'll make one for Big Brother Philip too, just in case.
"Have you heard when Big Brother Philip is coming home next?" I asked.
"I told him to come home once when Mother-in-law is here," Dad answered.
Oh... I almost forgot Grandma was coming. Then maybe I'll make it for him before then... Oh, right. I tried making something like this too-
I pulled a Fan-shaped Cooling Magic Tool out of my chest pocket.
"I thought it might be perfect for you and Tiana, Mom," I said, presenting it.
"A folding fan? It looks like a Magic tool, but how do you use it?" Mom asked, leaning in.
"Try fanning yourself once," I suggested.
"-! What is this?! It is properly cold! Mother, you try it as well!" Tiana exclaimed.
"Oh my...! Cold air is coming out of the fan," Mom gasped.
"Yeah. I didn't want to deal with the heat when I went out today, so I made one as a test. I figured a folding fan is something you'd carry around a lot," I explained.
Mom stared at the fan in surprise, and Tiana watched her with curious eyes.
From their reactions, it seemed like they liked it.
"I thought it might be nice for you two. I can also build a Cooling Function into a fan you already like," I offered.
"Big Brother Finn! I definitely need one! My room is comfortable now, but it is actually boiling while I am at the Academy or in the carriage..," Tiana chimed in eagerly.
"I'd be happy if you could make one for me too," Mom smiled.
"Then pick out a fan you want the Cooling Function built into and bring it to me," I told them.
At this rate, they'll probably pick out fans and bring them to me as soon as dinner is over.
The Magic tool for Uncle Alex and the spec sheet are both done. So tomorrow, I should probably get started on theirs right away.
