At first, when she entered the space, everything inside was small—the house was tiny, and the farmland was only about 30 square meters.

But this time, when she went in again, everything had expanded. The space felt more open, and the farmland had grown bigger, enough to plant more vegetables.

Even though the increase wasn’t huge, it was still an improvement.Full novel: The Military Man Wanted To Arrange A Marriage Exchange, But Then She Married His Superior Officer — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

More importantly, the little wooden house had also gotten better.

At the beginning, it was almost empty. Later, she could cook inside. And now, it even had running water and a system that could heat water automatically for bathing.

That alone made it much more convenient than living on the island.

Liu Qingyue didn’t understand why the space had changed so much—but since everything was improving, she decided to just accept it.

After all, if she could be reborn, then nothing was impossible.

On top of that, there was now a small wooden bed inside the cabin. After bathing, she could lie down and rest there. Compared to before, the conditions had improved a lot.

The more she thought about it, the happier she felt.

She hadn’t had a proper bath since getting on the train, so she immediately took a shower inside the space.

Afterward, she sat by the door for a while, enjoying the breeze, then went inside and lay down on the bed.

Relaxing comfortably, she stared at the ceiling of the wooden house.

It seemed like this space upgraded little by little over time. If it kept evolving, it might eventually become like what Liu Wanwan once described in her previous life.

Back then, Liu Wanwan had bragged that the space had a large villa, lots of farmland—basically like a private farm.

Maybe that was the final stage of the space.

If it kept upgrading gradually, it might reach that level too.

The only question was—what triggered the upgrades?

She thought about it for a while, but after such a comfortable bath, her eyelids grew heavy, and she soon fell asleep.

Meanwhile…

After leaving the cabin, Lu Fengtíng returned home.

His parents also lived on the island because they worked there. As soon as he got back, his mother, Xu Yunjie, called out:

“Come eat!”

“Okay.”

He walked over quickly, greeted his father, Lu Mingsheng—who was reading a newspaper on the sofa—and then went into the kitchen to help bring out the bowls.

The family sat down to eat together.

Xu Yunjie loved chatting, so she talked about interesting things that happened at work.

Seeing Lu Fengtíng zoning out, she nudged him with her elbow.

“Son, what are you thinking about?”

He snapped out of it, finished his food, then sat up straight with a serious expression.

“Mom, Dad, something important happened today. I need to tell you.”

He had always been a responsible and steady son, so his serious tone made both parents sit up straight as well.

He explained:

“Half a month ago, when I went back home to visit Grandpa and Grandma, I saved a girl who fell into a lake.”

“She came to the base this time to marry her fiancé and move here with him.”

“But her fiancé ended up getting involved with her younger sister.”

“So I decided to take responsibility for her—and she agreed to marry me.”

“What?!”

Xu Yunjie was completely confused at first.

Lu Mingsheng added thoughtfully, “Is she still hung up on her former fiancé?”

“No,” Lu Fengtíng said firmly.

“What her fiancé did was too much—he got involved with her sister. She couldn’t accept it. But since she traveled all this way, going back would only make people laugh at her.”

“And… part of this situation happened because of me. So I chose to take responsibility.”

“I’ve already submitted the marriage application. Once it’s approved, we’ll get married.”

After he finished explaining everything, his parents whispered to each other for a while, finally understanding the situation.

Then Xu Yunjie smiled and patted his shoulder.

“You surprise me! I thought you’d stay single forever!”

“I’ve worried so much about your marriage—every time I tried to set you up, you refused. And now you suddenly want to take responsibility?”

“You must really like this girl, don’t you?”

Lu Fengtíng thought for a moment, then nodded.

“I just think… she’s different. She has the courage to stand up for herself.”

“Anyway, I was going to get married sooner or later. You’ve both been worrying about me for a long time. Being with her is actually a good thing—I think she’s a really good person. We can build our feelings over time.”

In truth, Lu Fengtíng already liked her—especially the way she looked at him.

But he wasn’t ready to say that out loud yet.

“That’s great, that’s great!”

Lu Mingsheng smiled brightly.

“It’s a good thing you’re finally getting married. We should actually thank that Deputy Battalion Commander Zhou.”

“A girl that good, and he didn’t want her—he chose to mess around with her younger sister instead,” he scoffed.

“That just shows her sister isn’t a good person either.”

Xu Yunjie agreed.

“The only reason her sister acted like that is probably because she thought marrying a deputy battalion commander would give her a better life,” she said with a snort. Then she patted her son’s shoulder.

“That girl has already been through a lot. You must treat her well.”

“It’s okay if there’s no love yet—you can build it slowly.”

Both parents were genuinely happy about their son getting married.

They had introduced him to so many women before, but he never showed any interest. Now that he had finally chosen someone himself, they were truly relieved.

It almost felt like they had gained a daughter-in-law out of nowhere.

“When your paperwork is approved, bring her home for a meal,” Xu Yunjie said.

“No matter what, we must treat her properly and follow the proper customs. That’s basic respect.”

They had already been preparing for their son’s future marriage for years. Even though he was doing well on his own, the proper steps still mattered.

“Of course, Mom. I understand,” Lu Fengtíng replied. He had already planned everything—now he was just waiting for approval.

As they continued eating, Xu Yunjie sighed with emotion:

“We really should thank that man for being blind—otherwise he wouldn’t have let such a good girl go, and you wouldn’t have found a wife so easily.”

“That’s great!”

Lu Fengtíng couldn’t help but smile wryly.

But when he thought about it, it actually made sense.

It was because Zhou Heshan couldn’t recognize how good Liu Qingyue was—and chose her sister instead—that he ended up meeting her.

From now on, he will cherish her and live a good life with her.

After discussing some details about the wedding, Lu Fengtíng went to rest.

His parents also went to bed, still talking about his marriage.

“I really didn’t expect him to get married so quickly,” Lu Mingsheng said happily.

“But it’s a good thing we’ve already been preparing. We won’t shortchange that girl in any way.”

“I trust our son’s judgment.”

“Of course!” Xu Yunjie snorted proudly.

“He takes after me—how could his judgment be bad? That girl must be a good person.”

“Don’t worry about anything. I’ve already prepared what’s needed. Just don’t act too stern when she comes over—you might scare her away,” she reminded him.

Lu Mingsheng frowned. “When have I ever been stern?”

Xu Yunjie turned away without answering, already busy planning for the wedding.

The next day…

Early in the morning, Lu Fengtíng went to the base.

By now, almost everyone had heard about what happened. Some people even came up to ask him about it.

“That girl was already dumped, right? Deputy Commander, you’re still going to marry her?”

Someone asked jokingly.

Lu Fengtíng’s expression immediately turned serious.

“The situation yesterday was very public, but there’s one thing I want all of you to understand.”

Seeing his serious face, no one dared joke anymore. They listened carefully.

“She traveled all the way here to join the military life, not knowing that her fiancé and her own sister were already involved.”

“They were already together—and even pregnant—yet they still tried to blame her.”

“They even twisted the fact that I saved her to smear her reputation.”

He paused, then said firmly:

“What she said yesterday was absolutely right.”

“They are both at fault—but she is not.”

“I want all of you to remember that.”
