Mianmian refused!

The man stood up and took a step toward her, eyes fixed on her.

“You reckless little thing.”

“I’m not a little thing! I’m a person!” Mianmian said, shrinking her neck nervously while inching backward, ready to run at any moment.

She counted in her head:

Three… two… one

And she bolted.

But the man grabbed the back of her jacket. Mianmian skidded in place, unable to escape.

“Ahhh! Let go of me!”

She struggled with all her might, but in his eyes, her resistance was like an ant trying to shake a tree.

Unable to break free, she gave up and stared at him.

The more she looked, the more familiar his face seemed.

Curious, she asked, “Uncle, what’s your name?”

He didn’t respond. Mianmian kept asking until he shot her a cold, annoyed glare.

Pouting, she glanced around, then went to sit on a round chair. Her hands rested on the armrests, eyes wide, taking in her surroundings.

He was clearly the master of this place—surely, he knew where Big Brother Qin was.

For now, she would hide her identity.

If he were a bad person… she wouldn’t put Big Brother in danger. Since her arrival, he didn’t know her, and she didn’t know him.

At that moment, hurried footsteps and voices came from outside.

“Young master, you can’t go! The master isn’t seeing anyone right now!”

“Move aside!”

Mianmian’s eyes lit up—it was Big Brother Qin’s voice! He really was here.

Two figures came in, one after the other.

“I want to go back.” Qin Yunchuan’s face was pale, eyes sharp, his tone firm. His legs trembled slightly. Though subtle, sharp-eyed Mianmian noticed.

She climbed down from the chair.

“Big Brother…” Mianmian ran to hug Qin Yunchuan’s legs. His knees reflexively trembled. She stared at them.

Qin Yunchuan looked down at her anxiously.

“Why are you here? Go back.”

“I don’t want to… Big Brother, is someone bullying you?” Mianmian held onto his legs, refusing to let go.

At that moment, Qin Yunchuan was full of worry.

“Mianmian…”

“Father, Mianmian doesn’t know anything. She came here to find me.” Qin Yunchuan shielded her behind him.

Mianmian’s heart skipped a beat—this man… could he be their father, Qin Moting?

Peeking cautiously from behind Qin Yunchuan, she bumped into Qin Moting’s eyes.

No wonder he seemed familiar. His face resembled Big Brother Qin’s—or rather, Big Brother Qin resembled him.

Little Mianmian had never seen her biological father before.

After Mianmian was born, her mother disappeared. Qin Moting moved into Plum Garden, ate vegetarian meals, and devoted himself to Buddhist practices, praying for his wife’s return. He became a well-known Beijing Circle Buddhist.

Yet rumors said he was ruthless—even toward his own children.

Because his wife disappeared after giving birth, Qin Moting blamed Mianmian.

It was all her fault that his wife went missing.

He resented Mianmian and disliked her.

When he looked at her again, his gaze was full of displeasure. Now that he knew her identity, his annoyance was unmasked.

“Get out.”

Qin Moting spoke, and Mianmian immediately sensed his dislike. She didn’t look at him again.

“Big Brother, let’s go home.”

“He can’t leave.”

Qin Moting’s voice was cold. Mianmian turned back. “Why can’t Big Brother go?”

A subordinate respectfully said, “Miss, the young master hasn’t finished his punishment kneeling yet.”

Mianmian’s face turned red with anger.

Without hesitation, she rolled up Qin Yunchuan’s pants and thermal leggings.

His knees were bleeding, marked by stones on the cobblestone path where he had been forced to kneel.

She pointed at Qin Moting.

“How dare you bully my Big Brother!”

Qin Yunchuan and the subordinates froze, astonished. Few dared speak to Qin Moting like this.

Mianmian was incredibly brave.

“Because I’m your father. He, as the elder brother, was unjust. Bullying his sister is his punishment.”

“You’re defending Qin Tongtong… Hmph! You old fool, I hate you! Big Brother, let’s go home.” Mianmian dragged Qin Yunchuan outside.

Inside the Buddhist Hall, Qin Moting’s face revealed an unexpectedly vivid expression.

He hadn’t seen such a reaction in a long time. Miss Mianmian was impressive.

Looking outside, he muttered in disbelief, “She called me an old thing?”

“Master… Miss Mianmian is angry. Why don’t you explain? You aren’t defending Qin Tongtong.”

Qin Moting’s fingers held a string of Buddhist beads. He glanced at the golden Buddha statue.

“Keeping them away is the best protection.”

“And Miss Mianmian? Do you really hate her?”

Qin Moting said nothing. He slowly closed his eyes, reciting Buddhist scriptures.

After leaving, Mianmian and Qin Yunchuan went together to Dr. Gu Xu’s clinic.

Mianmian held Qin Yunchuan’s hand as they entered. The nurses all knew Mianmian.

They quickly presented prepared snacks, and Mianmian happily accepted each one.

“Sister Fairy, please help Big Brother Qin with his medicine. His leg is hurt.”

Mianmian stood by Qin Yunchuan, and the nurses loved chatting with her.

So adorable, and she cared for her brother too.

A little sister this cute could make anyone smile even in their dreams.

While the nurses treated Qin Yunchuan, Mianmian sat eating snacks.

“Mianmian… Yunchuan? What are you doing here…”

Dr. Gu Xu came from the inner room.

His eyes landed on Qin Yunchuan’s knees. He pinched Qin Yunchuan’s shoulders. “Plum Garden again?”

“Dr. Gu, why is it always like this?”

“Because… every time he goes to Plum Garden, he comes back injured. Each time he comes to me for treatment. Counting carefully, today is the fourth time.”

Mianmian immediately frowned.

So Big Brother Qin had suffered so much. Why had he been punished by his father in the past?

Mianmian went to Qin Yunchuan’s side, her eyes full of worry. Qin Yunchuan, not wanting her to be sad, cast Dr. Gu a calm glance, then softly said, “Mianmian, it’s nothing.”

“Nothing? Big Brother is hurt!” Mianmian defended him. Now she had strong opinions about Qin Moting—even if he was her biological father, she wouldn’t forgive him easily.

Dr. Gu Xu smiled. After finishing the treatment, Qin Yunchuan got a call from his assistant and had to return to the company. Mianmian was left in Dr. Gu’s care.

After they left, Dr. Gu received a call. He looked down and said, “Mianmian, it’s time we can settle down at home.”
