Inside the clinic, the staff saw the group causing trouble again and immediately grabbed sticks as weapons.

The patients were quickly escorted into separate rooms by the nurses, and the doors closed, isolating the inside from the chaos outside.

Mianmian tilted her little head, curiously watching the people in the clinic.Full novel: The Milk Dumpling Understands Beast Language The Entire Elite Family Feasts on Gossip — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

They…

Why did they all feel so eerily well-trained?

And their expressions were so calm!

“Red Hair, it’s you again?”

Gu Xu held a syringe, his gaze cold and indifferent as he looked at Red Hair.

“How many times do I have to say it? I’m not Red Hair… I’m Hong Mao!”

Red Hair twisted his face and slammed his stick against the table with force.

“What you call yourself doesn’t matter to me… Go back and tell whoever’s behind you: if you disturb my work again, I will take away everything she cares about.”

Gu Xu’s eyes darkened slightly. He raised the syringe, his gaze sharp and unwavering on Red Hair.

For a moment, Red Hair froze.

Then, just as quickly, he swung his stick again, shouting angrily, “I don’t know what you’re talking about! My goal is simple—I just can’t stand you. Don’t want to die? Then shut the door and get lost!”

…

Mianmian finally understood.

Gu Xu sensed someone was behind Red Hair, but Red Hair kept making excuses.

She had seen plenty of villains like this in the Immortal Sect.

Mianmian lowered her head and kissed the succulent in her arms. She whispered softly, “Succulent Sister… do you know who Red Hair works for?”

“Ahhh! Oh no, I got kissed! So embarrassing… aaahhh!”

Mianmian blinked innocently. She hadn’t expected that just giving the succulent a little peck would provoke such a strong reaction.

She giggled shyly.

“Hmph, this child is so cute… even if I tell her, can she understand? Kid, I’ll tell you—Red Hair is connected to someone with a black mole at the corner of his mouth. Got it?”

Mianmian’s eyes flickered. That was important information. She leaned down and kissed the succulent again.

Another shy squeal came from the plant, and Mianmian giggled. “Thank you, Succulent Sister.”

Her laughter echoed throughout the clinic, standing out vividly.

Red Hair, furious, kicked a chair across the room. “Damn it! Who dares to mock me!”

Mianmian walked slowly on her short legs, and Gu Xu strode over, waving. “Little Mianmian, come here.”

Mianmian shook her head, and Gu Xu frowned.

She was on his turf—nothing could happen to her. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to explain to Qin Yunchuan, and he couldn’t forgive himself.

Red Hair glared at Mianmian, arrogance and malice radiating from his eyes.

But Mianmian didn’t flinch.

“Kid, are you mocking me?” he growled.

Mianmian stared at him, shaking her head then sighing, her expressions making Red Hair’s stomach churn with unease.

Already guilty and flustered, Red Hair pushed at her. Gu Xu reacted instantly, kicking Red Hair in the lower body. The stick fell from his hand, and his face flushed red with cold sweat.

“Brother Hong… Brother Hong… you’re asking for death…”

As Red Hair’s men tried to rush forward, Mianmian’s tiny voice called out, sweet and clear, “Gu Xu, there’s someone with a black mole at the corner of his mouth connected to him!”

Red Hair’s eyes widened in shock, and he immediately barked, “Everyone, fall back!”

The men exchanged nervous glances, unwilling to make any further moves.

Gu Xu crouched down, holding Mianmian’s shoulders gently. “Little Mianmian, are you telling the truth?”

“Really, really!” she nodded.

“No… no way… how could you know?” Red Hair stared at her, disbelief in his eyes.

“I’m Ji Dao!” she replied matter-of-factly.

A flicker of emotion crossed Gu Xu’s eyes. He picked up the stick from the floor, twirling it in his hand as he stepped toward Red Hair.

Red Hair, kneeling on the ground, still felt pain in his injured leg. He couldn’t get up.

He stared at Gu Xu in terror, trembling. “What… what are you trying to do? You dare touch me… ah…”

Pain shot through his leg!

He clutched it, screaming as Gu Xu broke it with his own hands.

The men immediately lifted Red Hair and ran, each moving as if fleeing a monster.

Gu Xu tossed the stick aside and instructed the nurses to clean up, then resumed business as usual.

But thinking of Mianmian still being there, Gu Xu felt a pang of regret. He had gotten carried away in the moment and forgot to shield her—what if she had been scared?

Excuses formed on his lips, ready to spill out.

Then, looking into Mianmian’s eyes, he saw nothing but admiration. Not a single excuse came out.

She was only three and a half!

Shouldn’t she be terrified? Afraid? Crying?

Admiration? What the heck?

Mianmian clasped her hands tightly, gazing at Gu Xu in awe.

“Gu Xu, you’re so awesome… you can break a leg with one hand! So amazing! Mianmian likes it! Teach me too…”

Gu Xu’s decisive side had completely amazed her—this was exactly what the elder meant by respect for the strong!

Huh?

Gu Xu nearly dropped his jaw.

He awkwardly hid his smile and gently ruffled the little tuft of hair on Mianmian’s head.

“Little Mianmian, hitting people is bad, you can’t learn this from me.”

“Don’t be modest, Gu Xu. Mianmian thinks you’re super, super, super amazing.”

She remembered one outer disciple the elders had taken in who hesitated once against an enemy—and ended up blinded.

To Mianmian, Gu Xu was her role model!

The more Gu Xu tried to explain, the more he realized she had misunderstood him completely.

No!

If Qin Yunchuan knew that she was learning the wrong lessons from him… he shivered at the thought.

Children’s emotions come quickly and go quickly; they don’t remember everything clearly. Gu Xu seized the opportunity to change the topic.

“Tell me, how did you know Red Hair was connected to someone? Little Mianmian, have you ever seen a man with a black mole at the corner of his mouth?”

“Nope! Haven’t seen him!”

Mianmian shook her head.

Gu Xu was puzzled. Red Hair’s reaction alone was enough to prove that Mianmian’s words were true.

“Then how did you know about the man with the black mole?”

Mianmian held her succulent closer and looked down. “Succulent Sister told me!”

Gu Xu: “….”

Did she think he was stupid?

The nurses heard this and laughed. One said, “Doctor Gu, this little girl is really adorable.”

“The little fairy sister is cute too.”

“Oh my, what a sweet little mouth—I’ve become a little fairy now…”

Mianmian grinned sweetly, and the clinic’s atmosphere lightened even more.

Gu Xu shook his head helplessly.

He had completely forgotten.

Mianmian liked watching costume dramas and enjoyed making random titles. As for the man with the black mole, she probably picked it up from a TV show. Coincidence, most likely.

But the person behind Red Hair… a cold blade formed in Gu Xu’s eyes.

“Little Mianmian, why did you come to see me?” Gu Xu carried her to the break room.

Mianmian thought for a moment. “I was worried about Big Brother… I don’t want anything to happen to him.”

“You want to know about Yunchuan’s illness?”

Mianmian nodded.
