If the Crown Prince had intentionally thrown all the praise onto him…then there was definitely a reason behind it.

The only problem was…Cassian couldn’t figure out what game this cunning fox was playing.

This wasn’t how it was supposed to go!!!!

What exactly was going on here that he wasn’t aware of?

Was the Crown Prince also reborn?

It didn’t seem so to him but you could never be too sure about anything until you get the full information before painting the picture that would become the truth.

Shaking his head as he stared at the back of the Crown Prince, Cassian suddenly felt a light tugging in his trousers and brought his eyes down to find a little kid of about five or six strung up at him with wide eyes.

Irritation flared up within him at the innocent little girl as memories of how he had just been this way towards this kingdom and its inhabitants in his last life filled his head and his countenance darkened.

The five huskies behind him seemed to have sensed something and they all stood up and began to let out menacing growls that caused fear to fill the hearts of those around.

Crown Prince Lysander heard all this and quickly turned around to find Cassian staring at a small kid with barely concealed hatred and he felt something shift within his chest as he looked around to try and understand what had happened during the period he had turned his back on them.

The guards each had their hands on their swords as they stared at this situation and the Crown Prince felt like stopping them but that trembling child still holding onto the trousers of Cassian like a lifeline made him stop.

His people’s safety had to be held above anything else.

“You have precisely a second,” Cassian began, his voice cold as he stared the chick down with all the hatred anyone could expect from someone who murdered their entire family and Lysander felt alarm bells ringing within the crevices of his mind at the suddenness of this.

But no matter how hard he tried to understand what had happened, he couldn’t and it didn’t help that everything had gone quiet within his head.

Something was definitely wrong…he just didn’t know what exactly and that put him in a tough situation.

“..to let go of my clothes.

Or I swear to whatever deity you serve that I will sever that arm under the count of three..”

“Cassian…?”

“…two!”

Gasps filled the air as he immediately moved from zero to two and something told the Crown Prince that if he didn’t do anything then Cassian really would slice off that kid’s arm.

“..thre—”

The five huskies behind him began to advance as he began his last count but the Crown Prince didn’t let him finish it because he quickly darted forward and grabbed a hold of the kid who looked ready to faint before pushing away from Cassian.

“Keep your people away from me, Prince.

I won’t be responsible for what happens to them next time if they try to get all cozy with me.” His voice was frigid and the most frightening thing of it all were his eyes, so full of darkness and a sense of budding cruelty that caused shivers to run down the spine of everyone there.

The entire place was quiet as he gave them a dirty look before he whistled and the five huskies instantly turned docile as they all turned and followed him out of the pet store.

“…waaahhhh!!!!”

The child in his arms threw her head back and a sharp scream filled the air as tears began to rush down her face and the parents that had been struck frozen at the sides quickly rushed over when they heard it and took her from the Crown Prince.

“Shhhh…” they tried their possible best to console the child that had been stricken with fear by Cassian and it was only when he had left that she finally came to and realized that something huge that she didn’t understand had almost happened to her.

The Crown Prince had an inkling that if that child had cried when Cassian was here then something catastrophic might have happened.

Just what exactly had that been?

How did he suddenly change emotions so quickly?

“Did you see the look in his eyes?

Scary!”

“He really looked ready to kill!”

“I never want to cross that one!”

“Even the dogs were ready to tear the child apart!”

“Yes!!

I was so terrified!”

“The count should better work on his son!”

“Isn’t that right?!

Did you hear he burnt down Hans bakery shop last week?!”

“Hans deserved it!”

“Why burn his shop though?!

Stop saying things that you d—”

“Why don’t you go ask the authorities why he burned it, you’re here giving half baked stories!

Cowards!”

“You’re the one who’s a cows—”

“Oh please, I don’t even come close!

Better tell your brother to take care of that five year old girl or she might just have her curiosity kill her one day!”

“Hmmph!”

The Crown Prince almost face palmed as the entire place went rowdy as people began to fight each other and it all rotated around Cassian.

Meanwhile, Cassian left the pet store behind and as soon as he stepped out of the building, cheers filled his head and he raised his eyes up to find so many commoners cheering and calling out his name.

“Young count!

Thank you for saving our animals!”

“Young count!

How did you do it?!”

“Young count…..”

“Young count!”

Similar scenes flashed within his head but in a much different way as memories tore through his entire defenses and swiftly pulled itself to the frontal part of his mind.

“Monster!”

“Kill him!”

“Cut off his head!”

“Hateful!”

“Young count?!

Could you touch my dog?

He’s amongst those you saved!”

“Murderer!”

“Young count!”

“Put to death!”

“Young mast—”

A hand touched his shoulders and his hand reflexively shot out and slammed hard into the neck of the individual and the entire place went silent as the commoner male felt his life disappear from him as he fell backwards to the ground.

ThUD!

The sound of his body hitting the rough ground was the only sound in the entire place as his eyes rolled up into his head and he lost consciousness instantly.

Cassian groaned at the sight as he shook his head, trying to lock back the memories down inside the cages where they should hav stayed if not for these people.

As he thought this, his eyes flashed towards them and they all gasped while taking several steps backwards at the dark look in his eyes.

He turned back to the commoner male that was on the ground and when he saw something on him, he scoffed and rolled his eyes before he walked away as if nothing had just happened.

Then he swiftly got into his carriage and barked out an order.

“Leave!”

The boy didn’t have to be told twice before he whipped the horses much harder than necessary and they neighed before darting forward with speed.

Back at the inner parts of the pet store building, two guards rushed inside as they came to relay the news of what was happening outside.

“Cr- Your Highness!”

Crown Prince Lysander turned towards them, his mind still on the recent activity involving Cassian that had happened mere moments ago.

He was still thinking of what had gone wrong that had caused such a rapid change in the countenance of Cassian because he found it to be really odd.

The only time he had seen and felt this sort of hatred coming from Cassian was back at the castle during morning court when he had expressed within himself of how much he detested them all.

He had no clue that that hatred extended down towards the commoners too!

Or was he wrong to think so?

He had always prided himself for being really intelligent and able to decipher anything thrown at him by anyone but recently, Cassian had been going up and beyond to test just how much he could do with the intelligence he had.

And at each turn, he seemed to always be failing the tests and coming out as dumb which was quite frustrating to him!

“What is it?” He asked slowly, as if he couldn’t believe that there was anything else that could happen today that hadn’t already happened.

But he was about to be quickly corrected by the news he was about to hear.

“The….young master just killed someone outside!” The second guard gasped out and Lysander felt his entire body run cold as he heard gasps of shock running around him from the commoners and guards there.

“What did you just say?” He asked, his voice low.

“A commoner!

He killed him!” The first guard gasped, his word coming out in short bursts as if he still couldn’t believe that the son of the count had just killed someone and was still in shock.

“Take me there!”

I mean….

he just suffered through something this huge so imagine the type of mental illness he would surely be feeling.

No need to sugarcoat it but there’s bound to be bursts.

It can’t all be sunshine and rainbows and I came back to life so the trauma should also go away!

Right?

Tell me what you all think here!

also, remember to alway comment because that’s one of my main criteria for more chapters in a day’s update.
