4 – She kissed him
“One day, I will squeeze that man out of your mind, do you hear me? One day!!”
The man pressed his hands forcefully against the girl’s head, his actions rough and devoid of any tenderness. His ferocious expression laid bare his violent side, exposed for all to see.
He would never give her the chance to abandon him.
Never!
He begged her not to torment him any further, or he didn’t know what he might do to her.
Bai Ruanruan felt as though her skull was about to be crushed by the man. Seeing his unstable emotions and the situation spiraling out of control, she stood on her tiptoes and pressed her soft, warm lips against his forehead.
In the next moment, the man was taken aback by the faint, pleasant fragrance that belonged to the girl, a scent that enveloped him and left him momentarily dazed.
Instantly, it was as if he had been injected with a sedative. He stood frozen, not daring to move a muscle, his hands suspended awkwardly in mid-air, unsure where to place them.
Not only Jiang Yihan, even the servants were stunned.
It seemed as if the sky was about to rain red.
In the past, the young mistress wouldn’t even glance at their young master, let alone kiss him.
Lin Da’s eyes widened in shock, his face flushed with anger as he gritted his teeth.
What was this shameless witch doing?
“I won’t think about anything, I won’t leave. From now on, I’ll be good,” Bai Ruanruan said, cupping the man’s cheeks with her small hands, gently stroking his brows and eyes as she gazed at him tenderly.
This face was truly perfect.
Clearly, he was countless times more handsome than Mu Xuan. How could she have been so heartless to treat him so poorly?
Moreover, having someone in this world who loved you deeply and openly favored you—that was a treasure in itself.
Standing on her tiptoes once more, Bai Ruanruan kissed the stray strands of hair on the man’s forehead.
Almost as soon as Bai Ruanruan’s red lips drew near, Jiang Yihan instinctively closed his eyes.
As the girl’s delicate lips moved downward, the man’s breathing grew heavier. His unruly long eyelashes trembled slightly, as if from nervousness, and he remained utterly still.
Especially with that obedient, waiting-to-be-kissed expression, he resembled a ferocious beast that had been provoked and gone wild, only to be soothed and tamed, losing all its temper and becoming soft and pliant.
Just as Bai Ruanruan ended the forehead kiss and pulled away…
Suddenly, Jiang Yihan opened his eyes, grabbed her wrist, and fixed her with a pair of blazing, dazzlingly bright eyes.
She—had—kissed—him!
“From now on, I’ll be good. I won’t run away anymore, I won’t be unfaithful, and I won’t think about Mu Xuan anymore.”
She said she would never run away again.
“Bai Ruanruan, don’t lie to me. I’ll believe it,” Jiang Yihan said, his voice hoarse, looking at her with a mix of hope and bitter amusement.
Why had her temperament suddenly changed so drastically?
She was deceiving him again.
“I’m not lying to you,” Bai Ruanruan replied, clasping the man’s hand and pressing it against her cheek, nuzzling it affectionately.
“You need to rest now. Let’s go rest, okay?” After nuzzling his large hand, Bai Ruanruan linked her arm with Jiang Yihan’s, intending to lead him to rest.
“Young Master, you can’t trust her words. She must be plotting something against you. You mustn’t fall for it.”
Lin Da solemnly reminded him. Having learned from past experiences, he had already seen through this black-hearted woman’s tricks.
Whenever she was nice to their young master, she always had an ulterior motive.
If he needed to rest, it shouldn’t be her leading him there.
“Step aside, get out of the way,” Lin Da hurriedly limped forward, trying to push Bai Ruanruan away so he could personally assist their young master.
But then…
“Get lost.” Jiang Yihan shot a chilling, sharp glare toward Lin Da, while he himself edged closer to Bai Ruanruan, desperately afraid that Lin Da might actually come over to support him.
Lin Da: “…”
