The darkness opened.

Not like a door.

Like an eye.

One by one, countless ancient lights appeared beyond the edge of reality.

Kael held Liora in his arms.

She was unconscious.

Her silver eyes had returned to normal, but the strange symbol remained on her palm.

The shadow stood before them.

Erevan had disappeared.

The First King remained frozen, staring into the darkness.

Kael looked at him.

“You knew.”

The First King slowly raised his head.

“Knew what?”

“That Liora had something inside her.”

“I didn't.”

Kael's expression hardened.

“You recognized the symbol.”

The First King looked away.

“I recognized the fear.”

Kael said nothing.

The First King continued.

“My universe had a girl like her.”

“Liora?”

“No.”

He looked at Liora.

“She looked like Liora. Spoke like her. Fought like her.”

His voice became quieter.

“But she wasn't the same person.”

Kael's eyes narrowed.

“What happened to her?”

The First King closed his eyes.

“She killed me.”

Kael paused.

“And then?”

“She died.”

Silence.

Kael looked down at Liora.

“Then why is she here?”

The shadow answered.

“Because she didn't die.”

Everyone turned.

The shadow pointed toward the darkness.

“Her body died.”

Then toward Liora.

“But her choice survived.”

Kael frowned.

“What does that mean?”

“The First Choice is not a power.”

The shadow's voice became serious.

“It is the ability to choose something that reality itself says should be impossible.”

Kael remembered the moment Liora stopped the Law.

He understood.

“She chose to exist.”

“Yes.”

“And she chose me.”

“Yes.”

Kael looked at the symbol on her palm.

“What happens if she awakens completely?”

The shadow didn't answer immediately.

Finally—

“She will remember everything.”

Kael's expression changed.

“Everything?”

“Every life.”

“Every universe?”

“Yes.”

Liora suddenly moved.

Kael looked down.

Her eyes opened.

“Kael…”

“I’m here.”

She stared at him.

“I had a dream.”

“What dream?”

She touched her forehead.

“I was standing somewhere.”

“Where?”

She looked into his eyes.

“With you.”

Kael's heart skipped.

“What was I doing?”

“You were dying.”

Silence.

Liora's fingers tightened around his shirt.

“And I was angry.”

Kael stared at her.

“Why?”

“Because you smiled.”

Kael frowned.

“I smiled?”

“You told me…”

Her voice trembled.

“You told me not to cry.”

Kael's expression softened.

“What happened next?”

Liora closed her eyes.

“I killed you.”

The First King looked away.

Kael didn't.

“Did I deserve it?”

Liora opened her eyes.

“No.”

“Then why?”

She whispered:

“Because you asked me to.”

Kael froze.

The shadow turned toward the darkness.

“That is the truth the First King has spent an eternity trying to forget.”

The First King shouted:

“Enough!”

His voice shook the Outer Realm.

“You know nothing!”

The shadow looked at him.

“I know everything.”

The First King attacked.

His fist struck the shadow.

Nothing happened.

The shadow caught his arm.

“You were never the victim.”

The First King struggled.

“You don't understand!”

“You destroyed universes.”

“I had no choice!”

“You always had a choice.”

The First King froze.

Kael watched them.

Then he noticed something.

The First King's body was changing.

Cracks appeared across his skin.

Golden light leaked from inside.

Kael immediately raised his sword.

“What's happening?”

The shadow released him.

The First King fell to his knees.

“The Law…”

He looked at Kael.

“It found me.”

A white symbol appeared across his chest.

JUDGMENT INITIATED.

Kael stepped forward.

“Can you stop it?”

The First King laughed bitterly.

“No.”

The symbol spread.

“Kael…”

He looked up.

“I was wrong about you.”

Kael remained silent.

“You were never supposed to inherit Absolute Authority.”

“Then why did I?”

The First King smiled.

“Because it was afraid of me.”

Kael's eyes narrowed.

“What?”

The First King pointed toward Liora.

“The Authority chose you because she existed.”

Kael looked at Liora.

“And why does that matter?”

“Because the Authority knew…”

The First King's body began breaking apart.

“…that only someone who could love her would ever have a chance against what comes next.”

Kael's eyes widened.

The First King looked at Liora.

“I'm sorry.”

She stared at him.

“For what?”

He smiled sadly.

“For making you kill me.”

His body shattered.

Not into dust.

Into light.

Millions of memories exploded through the Outer Realm.

Kael saw them.

The First King.

His original universe.

His battles.

His victories.

His failures.

His loneliness.

And finally—

a girl.

Liora.

Standing before him.

Blood covering her hands.

The First King was dying.

But he was smiling.

He whispered:

“Thank you.”

The memory vanished.

Kael stood motionless.

Liora was crying.

She didn't know why.

Kael looked at her.

“You remembered.”

She shook her head.

“No.”

She touched her chest.

“I only remembered how it felt.”

Kael walked toward her.

She looked up.

“Kael…”

He hugged her.

For a moment—

neither spoke.

Then Kael whispered:

“You don't have to remember everything.”

Liora held him tightly.

“And you don't have to become someone else.”

Kael closed his eyes.

For the first time in days—

he could feel his heartbeat.

THUMP.

The shadow watched silently.

Then—

the darkness behind them moved.

A massive structure emerged.

A throne.

Not the Throne of Absolute Authority.

Something older.

Far older.

It was made from broken universes.

Kael stared.

“What is that?”

The shadow answered:

“The First Throne.”

“Who sits on it?”

“No one.”

Kael looked at him.

“Then why is it here?”

The shadow's expression became grim.

“Because someone is coming to sit on it.”

A voice echoed through existence.

“I HAVE WAITED LONG ENOUGH.”

The First Throne began to shake.

A figure appeared upon it.

Tall.

Armored.

Faceless.

Six black wings unfolded behind it.

The Law immediately appeared.

Then—

the Law bowed.

Kael's eyes widened.

The shadow lowered his head.

Liora whispered:

“Who is that?”

The shadow answered:

“The one who existed before Erevan.”

Kael tightened his grip on the broken sword.

“What's his name?”

The figure finally spoke.

“I am the First God.”

The throne ignited.

“And Kael Ardyn…”

Its faceless head turned toward him.

“…you are sitting in my stolen place.”

Kael stared at the throne.

Then at Liora.

Then back at the First God.

A faint smile appeared.

“Then take it.”

The First God paused.

Kael raised his broken sword.

“If you can.”

The First God laughed.

The sound shattered seven dimensions.

“Good.”

Six black wings spread across the heavens.

“Let the war begin.”

And somewhere inside Kael's palm—

the word CHOICE began to burn.
