SERGEI MOROZOV

“There is no fracture but the tissues around the ankle are damaged causing swelling.

The cuts on the hand aren’t deep but they would take time to heal since her overall physical and mental health seems to be disturbed.” The doctor said, handing over a list of medicines.Full novel: The Pakhan’s Bride — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

I grabbed the paper.

“Please, take care of her, or her condition could get worse.” With that said Bogdan led the doctor away.

I stared down at the list before looking towards my room’s door.

She was breaking and for some odd reason I didn’t feel like celebrating.

Stepping inside my room, I looked over at her sleeping form on my master size bed.

She looked so small on that mattress.

Slowly walking up to her, I stared down at her.

She looked pale, and her dark circles were just emphasizing her bad condition and yet, she looked like a sleeping angel.

An angel, the devil put to sleep.

I sat down on my master chair in the corner and stared at her.

She thought she escaped from right under my nose yesterday.

One thing she didn’t know was that, no matter how much she tries to hide herself, my eyes are always watching her.

I deliberately let her escape.

I knew where she would go.

I also knew how her father would react.

She was already helpless, and the plan was to leave her hopeless, but one thing that went beyond the plan was her standing on that damn bridge.

She looked already dead.

I thought I achieved my goal earlier than I wanted, but I wasn’t yet satisfied.

I wanted to ruin her a little more, till the only thing her mind could think of was me.

I wasn’t only selfish, I was beyond any evil.

This position was given to me, and in order to keep it steady, I’ve become someone I couldn’t even recognize, but this was what I was truly meant to be.

The monster, the curse for all.

I continue to stare at her.

My eyes slowly traveled down her body before moving back to her face.

I haven’t possessed her completely.

Her soul, mind, and body…I wanted to corrupt them all.

I hated her, yet my hands twitched to hold her.

I wanted her in ways she couldn’t even imagine, and those ways weren’t lovely at all.

Fuck, I hated this.

******

“That’s all you know?” I asked, taking a puff of my cigar.

The loud music from the club downstairs was slightly buzzing in the room.

“What’s this?” I raised a brow and looked at him.

“Everything that happened inside,” Michael said with a little shrug.

I took hold of the USB and gestured to Boris to bring a laptop.

He nodded and walked out of the room, leaving the two of us alone.

Michael leaned forward.

“Are you planning to kill her?” He asked.

“That has been my motive ever since.”

Michael raised a brow.

“You can’t kill her.” He said.

“Who are you to decide that?” I asked, my voice came out as serious and stern as I wanted it to.

“The way you followed her in that water…” Michael said, eyeing me skeptically.

“That’s because I’ll kill her myself.”

At my statement, Michael chuckled.

“Sure.” He looked like he wasn’t buying it, but I couldn’t care less.

Boris brought a laptop and put it in front of me.

Just then, Michael stood up to leave.

“I’m looking for some good fuck, see you guys later.” He passed us a wink and walked out of the room.

I quietly stared at him.

I already knew what he was like, so I wasn’t surprised.

While Boris, on the other hand, seemed disgusted.

“Manwhore.” He whispered under his breath.

“You can leave Boris,” I commanded him and without a word he bowed at me and left.

I attached the USB to the laptop and looked for Zarya’s folder.

My eyes narrowed when I read ‘Sergei’s victim’.

As truthful as it was, it was still irritating.

I leaned back against the couch and took a puff of my cigar.

In that video, I watch her rebel against her so-called father.

I watched her break down.

I noticed how her expressions turned fearful when my name was mentioned.

Shutting the laptop, I put off my cigar in the ashtray and stared at the black wall in front of me.

Her voice echoed in my ears.

It was clear her father didn’t treat her well.

All this time, he wasn’t hiding her from me, he wasn’t protecting her…he was just controlling her, and I always knew it.

She must be feeling so lonely and broken…just like I wanted.

Suddenly my phone began ringing and it was Bogdan.

I instantly picked up the call, knowing what he might have to say.

“Boss.”

“What?”

“How is she?” I asked.

“She’s breaking things in your room.

Banging on the door.

She has completely gone mad.”

My eyes narrowed.

“And what are you doing?”

“I’m standing outside the door.

You told me not to go in.”

As loyal as a dog.

“I’m coming.” I dropped the call, grabbed my coat and threw it on my shoulders before walking out of the room.

Boris immediately began to follow me.

“Focus on the club activities.

I’m certain he’s coming back from jail.” I commanded Boris and he nodded eagerly before changing his route.

I descended the stairs, and the club came into my line of sight.

The youngsters danced and drank like there was no tomorrow.

A few making out in the corners.

Suddenly a young girl bumped into me and before she could touch the floor, I grabbed her arm, steadying her.

She reeked of alcohol and sweat.

I retreated my hand as fast as I grabbed her.

She looked up and paused.

“Oh…”

I raised my brow at her.

“Am I dreaming?” She asked and leaned in, putting her hands on my chest as she stood on her toes.

She stared at me seductively.

Was she not aware who I was?

Those who knew me were giving me side eyes, but this one here…

The younger generation really was shameless.

I tossed her aside as lightly as I could, but she ended up bumping into others like she was in a fight with me.

I sighed and walked out of the club, my men bowed at me in unison and surrounded me.

As I was walking towards my car, my phone began to ring again.

It was Bogdan.

“What?” I asked.

“Boss.” He sounded a little panicked.

My jaw tightened.

“What is it?” I asked.

“Miss Zarya…”

“Speak up.”

“She’s trying to hurt herself again.”
