Anyone they encountered while searching for supplies would be brought back to the base as long as they passed the necessary checks.

Zhao Yan looked at the young woman who could not even eat a compressed biscuit.

After years of killing zombies, Zhao Yan could tell at a glance that the young woman had not been infected. However, he could not understand why she was here.

She looked as though she had been well protected. In the apocalypse, there was no one with skin so fair that it practically glowed. So where were the people who had protected her? She also looked as though she had been starving for a long time…

There was a rusty lock on the door, a beautiful young woman inside, and not a single living person within a ten-mile radius. They had already searched the surrounding area thoroughly.

Everything about her seemed suspicious.

Zhao Yan decided that he should question her first.

【Le… Lehuan, we have Goodwill Points! Wow, there are so many Goodwill Points… Hahahaha!】

Yu Lehuan watched Little Six dance around excitedly and glanced at it from the corner of her eye.

“Tsk. Look at you getting so excited over this.”

The Goodwill Points must have come from the man standing in front of her, though she had no idea what kind of goodwill he felt toward her.

It did not matter. As long as she had the points, that was enough.

Thinking this, Yu Lehuan relaxed.

If that was the case, then he definitely would not eat her.

The two stared at each other without saying anything. Finally, Zhao Yan opened his mouth, just about to speak, when footsteps sounded on the stairs.

A group of people immediately pushed open the door.

“Captain, are you alright?”

“You’re making a fuss over nothing. The captain is so strong. What could possibly happen to him?”

“Have we finished searching for supplies? I want to go back to the base.”

“Captain, there are a lot of supplies in this little villa, but much of the food has already expired…”

The group’s voices abruptly stopped when they saw the scene inside.

Every one of them stared at their captain…

And then at the breathtakingly beautiful Yu Lehuan beside him.

“Th… who is this?”

Wu You was the first to speak.

Wu You had curly brown hair and wheat-colored skin, making him look like a giant poodle.

“My name is Yu Lehuan. Can I go back to the base with you…”

Yu Lehuan looked at them with slightly reddened eyes before finally letting her gaze settle on Zhao Yan.

Zhao Yan snapped out of his daze when she looked at him like that.

So she was not a fool after all.

He was just about to say yes when a voice interrupted him.

“How did you end up here? Where are your companions?”

The person speaking was Wang Ni, the second-in-command of their team.

Wang Ni was extremely cautious. Although Yu Lehuan’s beauty had initially distracted him, he quickly asked the question that had been troubling him.

Yu Lehuan paused when she heard him.

Just as she was about to answer, Little Six anxiously spoke up again.

【Lehuan! You can’t tell them about me, or they’ll definitely treat you like a monster and capture you for research!】

Yu Lehuan rolled her eyes.

“Little Six, do you think I’m an idiot?”

Her eyes turned even redder as a layer of tears welled up in them.

“How would I know what happened? I got separated from my family… I didn’t dare go anywhere because I was scared…”

As Yu Lehuan spoke, tears began to fall.

Large tears dropped onto the bedsheets, soaking the fabric and leaving dark marks behind.

Wu You immediately panicked.

He could not stand seeing women cry, especially a woman as breathtakingly beautiful as Yu Lehuan.

“Hey, beautiful, don’t cry… We weren’t trying to do anything to you. Wang Ni, watch your tone! She’s not your prisoner!”

Wang Ni looked somewhat at a loss when he realized that he had frightened her into tears.

“…I didn’t even say anything.”

The others hurriedly searched for tissues so they could wipe Yu Lehuan’s face, but none of these rough, burly men carried tissues with them.

One by one, the tall men stood helplessly at the doorway, looking strangely pitiful.

Zhao Yan curled his fingers slightly before reaching out to wipe away Yu Lehuan’s tears.

His fingers rubbed against her skin, and it immediately turned red.

Yu Lehuan had cried enough, so she stopped.

Back home, she had always been so troublesome that her parents often wished they could give her a beating. However, the moment she started crying, they would immediately lose their temper and leave her alone, choosing to go out and clear their heads rather than deal with her.

Using tears had always worked like a charm for Yu Lehuan.

She had perfected the technique.

Yu Lehuan was very good at reading people. She could tell that this group of dark-skinned men were softhearted. Little Six had already informed her that she had gained Goodwill Points the moment they entered the room.

Although the amount was not much, it was enough for Yu Lehuan to work with.

When they saw that she had stopped crying, everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Although Yu Lehuan’s appearance here was strange and defied all logic, she was undeniably a living person. They simply could not bring themselves to abandon a young woman like her.

They had originally come out to search for supplies and survivors anyway.

There were quite a lot of supplies in this little villa, and it had apparently never been searched by another base.

“We’ll stay here for the night and leave for the base tomorrow morning.”

After Zhao Yan finished speaking, he stood up and headed outside.

Before leaving, he lowered his head and glanced at Yu Lehuan.

She had her eyes lowered, seemingly lost in thought. Her eyelashes were still clumped together from crying, making her look incredibly pitiful.

“Wait here and don’t run around.”

After throwing those words over his shoulder, Zhao Yan left.

He looked fierce, and his voice sounded cold as well.

Wu You scratched his head when he saw Yu Lehuan sitting there with her head lowered.

“Our captain always talks like that, so don’t take it to heart. He’s even fiercer when he talks to us. We’re going to clear out the zombies first…”

He was clearly afraid that Yu Lehuan would start crying again.

Yu Lehuan lowered her head and remained silent, but in her mind, she was already complaining to Little Six about Zhao Yan.

“His hands were so dirty! Who knows what he touched before touching me? That’s disgusting. What if he touched zombies? Little Six, disinfect me…”
