“Jingyan, our department is holding a debate this afternoon. Do you want to come watch?”
The boy was busy organizing materials with one hand while casting an inquiring glance at Su Jingyan beside him.
Su Jingyan picked up his backpack and put his hand on the door, ready to push it open.
Hearing the boy’s words, he turned around, glanced at him, shook his head, and replied, “No, I have something to do today.”
The boy knew exactly what Su Jingyan was referring to and secretly rolled his eyes.
He couldn’t help teasing, “Tsk, tsk. Isn’t it just to keep your significant other company?”
Su Jingyan shyly showed his white teeth in a small smile and squinted. His innocent face looked especially harmless and pure.
Then he said nothing, simply pushed the door open and walked out with long strides.
The boy had been dazzled by Su Jingyan’s smile and stood there stunned. When he finally came back to his senses, he sighed.
Beauty was deceptive! Beauty was truly deceptive!
He suddenly remembered when Su Jingyan had first come to Chongda University. At the start of the school year, just after military training, his name had spread throughout the whole school.
At first, someone had anonymously posted a photo of Su Jingyan on the confession wall to find out who he was. Later, it became a daily occurrence for people to express their love for Su Jingyan in creative ways on the confession wall. Now, no one knew who ran the confession wall account, but it still posted pictures of Su Jingyan every day, wishing everyone good morning and good night.
Later, someone had taken a candid photo of Su Jingyan walking intimately with a man, smiling sweetly and happily, which shocked the onlookers.
Then someone else couldn’t resist their curiosity and went straight to ask Su Jingyan about it. Su Jingyan hid nothing and admitted it openly.
At that time, everyone finally found out that the most handsome guy in their school was already taken and had been in a relationship for four years!
It was so heartbreaking!
As soon as the news got out, it caused a huge uproar. That day, countless young men and women had their hearts shattered in two, crying and lamenting their lost love.
Even the words Su Jingyan had said when he admitted to the relationship had become the best confession template.
He had said, “If there really were such a person in this world, who came from the ends of the earth, accepted all your flaws, and loved you more than himself, with such intensity, how could you resist?”
At this, the boy couldn’t help shaking his head, a hint of envy in his eyes, but then he went on organizing his things.
Su Jingyan looked at the time on his phone and saw that it was still half an hour until noon.
He pursed his lips, and the corners of his mouth couldn’t help curling upward.
Yichen should be waiting for me at home now.
At this thought, Su Jingyan’s steps quickened, and he wished he could teleport back to him.
As Su Jingyan had once dreamed, they lived together near the school, in a house Lu Yichen had bought himself.
At first, Su Jingyan had worried a little that Lu Yichen would never age and would always keep his youthful appearance while he himself grew older day by day. He had even imagined them going from lovers to brothers, then father and son, and finally generations of ancestors. In the end, though, he had worried too much. He didn’t know how Lu Yichen did it, but even though he was no longer human, his features and temperament had changed slowly over time, shedding the immaturity of his youth.
Su Jingyan walked quickly toward his and Lu Yichen’s home, lost in his thoughts.
Just thinking of the word “home” made the corners of Su Jingyan’s mouth lift unconsciously.
The layout of their house was still arranged according to Su Jingyan’s preferences. Various plants and flowers grew throughout, and even the furniture had a forest-like atmosphere.
To be precise, at home, in everything from big things like planning their future to small things like what clothes to buy or what dishes to eat, Lu Yichen basically always followed Su Jingyan’s arrangements.
Except in certain respects, his lover could be called very obedient.
At this thought, Su Jingyan’s face flushed slightly.
As soon as Su Jingyan pushed open the door, he felt something leap toward him. He reacted quickly and caught it in midair.
It was Gulu.
Orange cats really were orange cats. Nine out of ten were chubby, and the last one was even chubbier. Gulu had been growing visibly fatter over the years. His once thin, weak limbs had evoked pity, but now his face was so squashed by fat that his eyes had turned into thin lines.
Su Jingyan hugged the chubby Gulu with great effort, almost dropping him.
He hadn’t been with Lu Yichen very long when he took Gulu home to adopt him. At first, Yichen had been very reluctant, but he had had to give in after Su Jingyan pouted for a while.
Gulu purred against Su Jingyan’s chest, swaying his tail from side to side and meowing now and then to show his happiness and cuteness.
Su Jingyan petted his head indulgently and then set Gulu down on the floor.
“Gulu! Go play by yourself!”
Gulu rolled on the floor a few times and then ran off to play on his own again.
There was a reason he was in such a hurry to get home today.
It was his and Lu Yichen’s fourth anniversary!
They said life needed a sense of ceremony.
Of course, an anniversary like this should be celebrated properly.
Su Jingyan chuckled to himself and kept walking inside.
Lu Yichen had invested in a very good internet company, so even lying at home, he had plenty of money flowing into his bank account.
“Yichen!” Su Jingyan took off his shoes, put his things on the shelf by the door, and slowly walked in. His bad habit of walking barefoot at home hadn’t changed. Lu Yichen had specially chosen wooden flooring for the whole house and covered most of it with carpets to keep Su Jingyan from catching a cold.
Su Jingyan pushed open the bedroom door and found that Lu Yichen still wasn’t inside, which struck him as a little strange.
Suddenly, something caught his eye. His gaze was involuntarily drawn to the box lying on the bed, and for some reason, he had a sense of foreboding.
The box had a bow tied on it, and the packaging was very fancy. Su Jingyan walked over and opened it, wondering whether this could be the anniversary gift Lu Yichen was giving him.
As soon as he saw clearly what was inside, he widened his eyes in shock, quickly slammed the box shut, and felt his face grow very hot.
Inside was an assortment of certain products and matching outfits.
Su Jingyan’s whole body turned red like a cooked shrimp, and his heart beat rapidly. Before he could even cool down, the bedroom door opened again.
The man wore a dark blue suit that outlined his body well but, for some reason, gave off a faintly refined scoundrel air.
As soon as Lu Yichen entered the bedroom and saw Su Jingyan’s extremely embarrassed expression, he understood that the other had already seen the surprise he had prepared, and he raised an eyebrow.
As soon as Su Jingyan heard the door open, he turned around.
Before he could even question him, the man walked up to him with practiced ease, pulled him into his arms, and, without hesitation, kissed him.
It was a hot, passionate kiss, accompanied by wet sounds, and Su Jingyan’s whole body went soft under it. He couldn’t even remember what he had wanted to ask.
Lu Yichen’s hands roamed without restraint, and, taking advantage of Su Jingyan’s distraction, he lifted him off his feet.
Su Jingyan suddenly lost his balance and was so startled that he reached out and hugged his boyfriend’s shoulders, which made their posture even more intimate.
In the blink of an eye, they had shifted so that Lu Yichen held Su Jingyan against his chest, both hands under him, with Su Jingyan’s legs hooked around the man’s waist and the two of them pressed tightly together.
(Auditor, they just hugged a little closer. Please forgive me.)
Su Jingyan’s face reddened.
Lu Yichen held Su Jingyan up with one hand and, with the other, opened the box on the bed.
Su Jingyan’s eyelids twitched, but before he could resist, the man carried him into the bathroom, still holding that indescribable piece of fabric.
“It’s still early, and indulgence in the middle of the day is unacceptable.” Su Jingyan resisted, with a stubborn face.
The man nibbled on his earlobe, his voice incredibly sexy, with a hint of teasing. “Don’t you trust my abilities?”
The string in Su Jingyan’s heart snapped.
It felt like a self-inflicted suffering that made life impossible.
Oh no, I don’t want to die suddenly in bed!
They didn’t know how long they had been fooling around, from the bathroom to the bed, and then out to the balcony. They tried every corner of the house.
Even worse, at one point Lu Yichen mischievously positioned them in front of a mirror, making Su Jingyan watch himself in a disheveled state. It was truly a thrilling experience.
In the second half, Su Jingyan was completely overwhelmed and fainted on the spot.
Afterward, Su Jingyan lay limp in bed, leaning against Lu Yichen’s chest while his lover gently held his waist and kissed his hair.
Su Jingyan remained in a state between consciousness and sleep.
Lu Yichen played with the fingers of the person in his arms.
In the next moment, something cold and icy slipped around the ring finger of Su Jingyan’s left hand.
Su Jingyan tried hard to open his eyes, but they were heavy with sleep.
After a while, Su Jingyan heard someone say to him in a daze, “Let’s get married in Ireland.”
Su Jingyan didn’t want to pay him any attention. He turned over and went on sleeping, completely unaware of what the man was whispering in his ear.
Lu Yichen kept stubbornly making trouble.
Su Jingyan didn’t think twice and just nodded at random whenever he was asked something.
Finally, Lu Yichen stopped teasing him and kissed the mole under his right eye. Contentedly holding him in his arms, he let his baby fall asleep.
(Did you know? In Ireland, marriage had a time limit: the shorter the term, the higher the cost, while a hundred-year agreement was almost free.
Once both parties chose a hundred-year commitment and promised each other in the church, only death could separate them. Any reason for divorce would be a violation of their oath.)
Lu Yichen held Su Jingyan tightly.
Even death cannot separate us.
Goodnight, sweet dreams, my love.
