“Uncle Sterling really sent you away from home?”
I kept quiet, eyes staring at the buildings that kept disappearing into the distance before I was able to fully take them in.
My hair danced with the wind.
The breeze hit my face, bringing with it a dazzling smile to my face.
Nothing beats fun things.
Riding a car at a traffic-breaking speed was only second to clubbing.
I love this.
“I wasn’t expecting that, really.
He must be really angry this time around.”
I rolled my eyes.
“Can you stop talking about him?”
“I don’t want to hear anything about him anymore.” From the moment he froze my money, he was no longer in my thoughts.
“Speed up the car.”
Noah glanced at me.
“I should roll that up.”
“What?” My eyes widened.
“Don’t you dare.”
“It’s cold, Elian.
It’s dangerous for your health.”
“Whatever.
Leave it down.
Just speed up the car.”
Noah helplessly nodded.
“Just a little.” and stepped on the pedal.
Putting out my hand, I screamed to the sky.
All the pent-up anger and frustration seemed to dissipate with the scream.
Noah’s cheerful laughter rang in my ears.
I glanced at him.
Sharp facial features.
Long and thick eyelashes.
Handsome.
Noah was really handsome.
I joined in the laughter.
“Should we go back in the evening to apologize to Uncle Sterling?
I’m certain he should have felt better by then.”
“No, he wouldn’t.
He’s still pretty much angry.”
“How would you know that?
Uncle Sterling doesn’t stay mad at you for long, you know that.”
“Well, he used to be like that.
Not anymore.”
Noah seemed confused.
“He froze my accounts.”
His eyes widened.
“He did?”
I sighed helplessly.
“He did.
So, I know a day isn’t enough for him to calm down.”
Staring out the car, a small smile appeared on my face.
“Moreover, there’s somewhere I have to be tonight.”
“Where?”
Noah’s voice rose slightly.
My lips curled.
“Secret.”
“Elian.”
“Shut up and drive.”
He smiled.
“Okay, Dad.”
I clicked my tongue.
I’d promised Sébastien to have dinner with him tonight.
Though there was nothing special about a dinner with him and his partner, the thrill of watching the lovers act all lovey-dovey wasn’t that bad at all.
When bored, even the littlest thing could become interesting.
Watching the good-looking couple couldn’t be worse than staying home all night without doing anything at all.
The cold breeze hit my fingers, turning them cold and numb.
Yet, it also made me feel inexplicably refreshed and excited.
The car gently parked.
Noah got out.
Seeing that he was coming over, I quickly opened the door and got out.
“Stop putting up such acts.” I scoffed at him.
Noah covered his mouth and chuckled.
“I’ve never acted with you, Elian.”
“You should keep all the sweetness for your future omega, Mr Noah.”
“God knows why you haven’t found an omega till now.
You look like you could deceive a few omegas to bed every night, and yet I haven’t seen you with one for so many years.”
“It’s baffling.” I closed the car door and stepped forward, leaving the underground garage.
Noah’s low laughter rang behind me.
His footsteps got closer.
“I’ve always had an omega beside me, though.”
My eyes widened.
“Really?”
“Of course.” His deep eyes flicked over me.
My nose scrunched up.
He stepped back, laughing hard.
He couldn’t be more annoying.
I collapsed lazily on a sofa, closing my eyes as my chest heaved slightly.
Even though I hadn’t done much all day, it still felt like I hadn’t rested in a long time.
I felt exhausted all over.
Noah patted my shoulder.
“Wait for me.”
I nodded nonchalantly.
He left.
Soon, he returned with a glass of water.
“Have some warm water.”
A hint of delight showed in my eyes.
I took the water from him and sipped it.
“That feels good.”
“Can you help me get some of my clothes from home later?
Dad won’t let me in.”
“Alright.
I’ll do that immediately after I settle you in.”
I raised a brow at him.
“I’m settled in.”
Noah placed the glass of water on the table and reached out his hand.
Seeing the outstretched hand, I lazily took it.
He pulled me up.
“You look fatigued.
You need some rest.”
He led me toward the stairs.
My lips parted, ready to deny, yet I couldn’t.
He was right.
I really needed some rest.
My legs seemed heavier than ever, and my chest felt a little uncomfortable.
“What else do you need other than the clothes?” He asked, leading me up the stairs.
“I don’t want to think.” I really didn’t want to.
I had no idea why I felt that way, but I really didn’t feel like thinking about anything.
Noah gently patted my hair.
My eyes darkened.
I reached out to slap his hand away.
He chuckled and took his hand.
“Let me think for you then.”
My lips twitched.
Noah always seemed to say the weirdest things.
Fortunately, he wasn’t the kind of alpha I could take home.
Or, I would have made him regret his sweet words.
A wry smile appeared on my lips.
It was really a pity.
“That smile is creepy.” He jabbed.
Yeah, right.
I was thinking about something creepy.
Nothing could be creepier.
He took me to his room.
“Do you need a bath first?”
I shook my head.
“I’ll just go to bed.”
Couldn’t bother bathing again.
Noah nodded.
He led me to the bed, pushed me in it, and covered me up.
“Sleep, okay?”
“I’ll go downstairs to make you something light.”
“Hm.
Be quick.”
I closed my eyes, trying to get some sleep.
“Elian?”
“Hm?”
I opened my eyes, yawning as I stretched.
“You done?”
“Yes.
Able to get some sleep?”
I checked the time.
Past two.
“I did.” Even more than I thought.
“Let’s go then.”
Noah took my hand, helping me down the bed.
I put on my slippers, and we left the room.
“What did you prepare?”
“Something light.
The doctor warned against anything too greasy.”
“Oh.” No wonder my mother’s meal this morning wasn’t that much.
My father must have told her about what the doctor said.
Then again, I still wouldn’t forgive him.
He dared to cut short my escape route; I would never forgive him.
Hissing, I slapped the fingers away.
“Fuck off.” I bared my teeth.
Noah laughed.
“Stop thinking so much.
It doesn’t suit you.”
I rolled my eyes.
Like I was even thinking.
“The aroma is so great,” I commented, pulling a seat.
Noah winked.
“Check the cook.”
“Yeah, right.” My voice couldn’t be more sarcastic.
Noah pushed the dishes closer to me.
I settled down to eat.
“Light, too.
Less salt.”
“Just as you like it.”
A smile involuntarily appeared on my face.
“I’ll get your things after the meal.
Wanna play in the game room while you wait for me?”
“Nah.
Never a big fan of games.” I raised my head.
“I can watch some videos on my phone instead.”
“Don’t worry.
I’ll be fine.”
The meal was everything.
Light and great.
I rubbed my belly, suppressing the fussy feeling that was starting to grow.
“You okay?”
“I guess I am.” I breathed out, pushing the rice into my mouth.
“You don’t look like it.
You’re pale and sweating.”
It seemed he was right.
My forehead was indeed dampened with sweat.
“My stomach.
My chest.
Something…” I suddenly gagged.
My legs moved immediately.
I stood up and rushed toward the bathroom.
Bending over the toilet, I let out everything I’d eaten all day, even the meat I ate before leaving home.
My chest felt constricted.
My stomach ached with the lightest touch.
My legs wobbled.
“Elian!”
Noah caught my waist, steadying me.
“I threw it all up,” I murmured, staring at the mess around me.
Noah sighed.
“It’s okay.
We’ll get something else to eat.”
But my mood…
I turned to look away.
“Okay.”
After cleaning my mouth and splashing more water on my face, Noah dragged me out of the bathroom.
“I’ll clean it up.”
“I can do it myself.”
“Elian.
You should rest.”
“But…”
“No but.”
He led me to a seat and handed over a warm cup of water.
“Drink this to warm your stomach.
Think about what you would like to eat.
I’ll make it for you when I’m done.”
I nodded gently, unable to look at his face.
Being treated this way, bothering someone so much, it was so unlike me.
My eyes settled on my belly.
Flat.
Aching.
How did this happen?
This pregnancy…
how come it made no sense?
I rubbed my belly, slowly sipping the water as I fell into deep thought.
How could I survive the pregnancy without having to deal with these unnecessary issues?
Take it out and give it to someone to keep?
That sounded impossible.
Then, what could be done?
“I’m done.”
“Oh.”
My mood became worse.
There really was no way to deal with the pregnancy…
“Do you want to invite friends over?”
My eyes suddenly widened.
Invite friends???
