“My brother has only been dead for two months, and you’re already that desperate? Can’t wait to seduce me?”

Li Qianqian opened her eyes with a splitting headache. The first thing that came into view was a set of solid, well-defined abdominal muscles, and further up, a handsome face with sharp, chiseled features.

The man’s pitch-black, unfathomable eyes stared intently at her, his gaze filled with nothing but disgust.Full novel: The Popular Female Supporting Character: Six Ex-Husband Brothers From the Start — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Her hands were pinned tightly by his large palms, the force so strong it threatened to crush her bones.

“Li Qianqian, if you find living too boring, I don’t mind sending you on your way!”

The man’s voice was icy to the extreme as he yanked her off his lap and flung her onto the floor.

He then reached over, grabbed his coat from the bed, and draped it over himself.

Li Qianqian’s whole body ached, and her brain simultaneously rebooted, flooding with a large surge of memories that didn’t belong to her.

She had transmigrated into a book.

She had become the female supporting character in a novel about a universally adored protagonist and her foil. The original body shared her name, and she had married into a neighboring wealthy family alongside the female lead, Yu Shushu. After both their husbands died, they were looked after by their husbands’ big-shot brothers from the same circle.

As widows who had both lost their husbands, the female lead remained chaste and virtuous for her husband’s sake. She worked as an agent under Fu Corporation’s media division, handling matters with sharp efficiency and nurturing several wildly popular celebrities.

The four big-shot brothers, during their collaborations with her, were drawn to her qualities, and from then on, a competition among the male leads to win her affection began.

The original body, in contrast, didn’t enjoy her vast fortune, neglected the promising artists under her charge, and mistreated her mother-in-law, who doted on her like a daughter.

She was fixated on seducing her husband’s older brother and his brothers, and after a series of embarrassing acts, she ultimately lost her mother-in-law’s favor and was cast out of the Fu family.

The scene before her was precisely the precursor to her being framed and kicked out of the Fu family.

Although the original body had intended to seduce her husband’s older brother, her boldest act so far had only been stealing some of his personal clothing.

And today, barging in while the eldest brother was still showering, locking the door, and planning to consummate the matter—all of it was done under someone’s instigation. The drug in that cup of water wasn’t placed by her either.

Before she could think further, Fu Huaishan’s face was flushed crimson, the heat raging through his body nearly consuming him. He fought to keep his muddled mind in check, veins bulging on his hands.

Over the years, there had been no shortage of people trying to send women his way. He had encountered such reactions early on and naturally knew what was going on.

He suddenly raised his head to look at the culprit. “What did you do to me?”

Li Qianqian furrowed her brows slightly. Ignoring the pain in her body, she climbed up from the floor, reached for the cup of water on the table, and examined it—it hadn’t been drunk.

She could still be saved. She didn’t want to lose her rich-wife lifestyle on the very first day of transmigrating.

Li Qianqian’s mind spun rapidly, and soon she came up with a perfect explanation. She moved her lips. “Big Brother, you have a fever. Actually, I came to take care of you.”

Hearing this, Fu Huaishan was instantly so angry he laughed. Shameless woman! To say such a thing without even a hint of a blush or a racing heart.

He endured the discomfort in his body, snatched up the black silk stockings beside him, and flung them viciously to the floor.

“Take these and get lost.”

“Big Brother, now isn’t the time to introduce me to your hobbies. I’ll go call a doctor for you.”

Li Qianqian glanced at the black stockings the original body had left behind, silently averting her gaze as she spouted nonsense, then turned to open the door. If she stayed any longer, her mother-in-law would arrive.

This place wasn’t safe to linger.

A hand grabbed her arm and yanked her back. Even in his feverish state, Fu Huaishan’s strength was still terrifyingly immense.

Li Qianqian stumbled backward, caught off guard, and fell into the man’s embrace, her nose filled with the scent of his masculine pheromones.

Fu Huaishan felt the faint fragrance against his chest, his whole body growing unsettled. She was so soft, pressing against him as if she had no bones at all. His famed self-control began to crumble in that moment.

In the end, he attributed it to the drug being too potent.

Even with her previous attempts at seduction, they had never had any physical contact.

This was the first time, and it would be the last. Fu Huaishan pushed her away, his tolerance for her having hit rock bottom.

“Trying to run? Too late. For Yun Li’s sake, I’ve given you chance after chance. Since you don’t know how to cherish them, I won’t cover for you any longer.”

The moment his words fell, footsteps sounded from outside the door. Quick as a flash, Li Qianqian scrambled off his bed and sat down on the floor.

She spoke deliberately, loud enough for those outside to hear. “Big Brother, someone deliberately locked us in together.”

The door was kicked open with force. Fu Huaishan’s disheveled appearance startled both the butler and the servants who burst in, and Old Mrs. Fu, at the lead, furrowed her brows slightly.

Li Qianqian showed not a trace of guilt on her face. She walked openly toward Old Mrs. Fu and said:

“Mom, you’ve come at just the right time. Big Brother has a high fever, but someone locked the door. If he doesn’t get treated in time and burns his brains out, who knows how far Fu Corporation’s stock will fall!”

Old Mrs. Fu slowly turned her head to glance at the butler, who had eagerly summoned everyone over.

“The household servants and affairs have always been under your management.”

Butler Ji’s heart pounded with terror. He hadn’t expected that the Second Young Madam, who usually stammered in any situation, would have such a clear head this time.

“Old Madam, the household staff wouldn’t dare do such a thing. They’re all just working here to earn a living—how could they commit such a crime?”

“Besides, the Second Young Madam’s harassment of Master Fu hasn’t been a one-day affair. I happened to see her carrying water upstairs, and she wouldn’t let any other servants go up to clean…”

Smack! Li Qianqian grabbed the spiked glass beside her and hurled it to the floor, the cup shattering into pieces.

Her face appeared furious, but inwardly she was overjoyed—the evidence of her predecessor’s misconduct had been successfully destroyed.

“Steward Ji, what are you implying? Yun Li is gone now. Me taking care of Big Brother in his place is what you call harassment?”

Ji Wanyun felt a pang of panic at the accusation, but then she caught sight of Master Fu’s flushed face, and her confidence swelled again.

She had already deleted the surveillance footage in advance, and that cup of water had only passed through Li Qianqian’s hands the entire time. No matter how she tried to explain herself this time, she wouldn’t be able to talk her way out of it!

“You know very well what you put in Master Fu’s room. Whether it was care or not, we’ll know once the doctor arrives. That cup of water you sneaked upstairs and wouldn’t let anyone touch—it makes me suspicious.”

Li Qianqian raised her eyes slightly, her tone still cool and indifferent, a faint smile curling at the corners of her lips.

“Can a mere servant splash dirty water on me without a shred of evidence?”

Ji Wanyun’s heart clenched at the word “servant,” but then she thought—a widow about to be cast out of the Fu family would soon only be able to look up to her.

Indulging in a war of words right now would only make Huai Shan despise his sister-in-law even more.

She didn’t need to argue with someone like this—it would only lower her own standing. Ji Wanyun smiled gently.

“Second Young Madam, my apologies. If anything I said displeased you, please bear with me. As Master Fu’s personal assistant and steward, I can’t be too careful about his safety.”

“Go pull the surveillance footage. Don’t make a fuss about this. Take Huai Shan to Xiao Chuan for an examination.”

Old Mrs. Fu turned the prayer beads in her hand, lost in thought, her expression unchanged as always—impossible to read.
