The NPCs in the ghost bride instance originally thought that once they opened the door, they could clear Su Zhi and An Chenru’s Heartbeat Coins according to the rules.
Yet no one expected that Su Zhi and An Chenru would actually manage to find the secret passage of the fourth instance within a single minute!
After all, that secret passage was hidden inside a coffin. What normal person would even think of looking in a coffin?!
The NPC playing the ghost bride exchanged looks with the NPC playing the paper effigy. In the end, they decided to follow the production team’s rules and continue the pursuit of Su Zhi and An Chenru.
Du Weihan’s fans watched helplessly as the NPCs followed the route Su Zhi and An Chenru had escaped along and headed straight for the instance Du Weihan was in. Their minds completely collapsed.
【Du Weihan, run, damn it!】
【Holy sh*t, the NPCs from the ghost bride instance actually went to Du Weihan’s instance! Does this mean the NPCs from two instances are merging now?!】
【I don’t know if the NPCs are merging, but I do know Du Weihan is in danger!】
【Damn it, Su Zhi, this jinx!】
At that moment, Du Weihan— who had just escaped an NPC chase— was heading toward the exit. If nothing unexpected happened, he should have been able to leave the instance in about five minutes.
But accidents always came without warning.
Just as Du Weihan was secretly breathing a sigh of relief, he suddenly heard a noise coming from the door of a room to his front-left.
Hearing it, Du Weihan became alert, his eyes fixed tightly on the door ahead of him.
The next second, the door was shoved open with a loud bang, and Su Zhi and An Chenru ran straight out of the room.
Although Du Weihan was puzzled as to why Su Zhi and An Chenru had come out of that room, for him, this was an opportunity to mock Su Zhi that he absolutely could not miss.
“Hahahaha, Su Zhi, I was right about you! Just a few NPCs scared you this badly—”
Before Du Weihan could finish his sentence, Su Zhi sprinted right past him. The rush of wind she brought even lifted the hem of his clothes.
Being ignored by Su Zhi once again, Du Weihan’s anger flared up instantly.
But before he could vent it, An Chenru interrupted him, “Sorry, excuse us!”
As he spoke, An Chenru brushed past Du Weihan just like Su Zhi had.
“What the hell? Are you being hunted or something?”
The very next second after Du Weihan said that, a group of NPCs wearing wedding garments and paper-effigy makeup appeared in front of him.
Du Weihan: ……
At that moment, the production team’s broadcast sounded.
“Instance No. 2 linked battle royale mode activated. Guest Du Weihan, please be advised. If you are caught by NPCs, all your Heartbeat Coins will be cleared!”
After hearing the broadcast, Du Weihan immediately felt the hostile, predatory gazes coming from the NPCs opposite him.
At this moment, instinct replaced thought. Without thinking at all, Du Weihan took off running in the direction Su Zhi and An Chenru had fled.
While running, he gritted his teeth and shouted, “Su Zhi, you actually dragged me into this!”
From a bird’s-eye view, Su Zhi was in front, An Chenru was in the middle, and Du Weihan was bringing up the rear, with a large group of aggressive NPCs chasing closely behind them.
Faced with such a thrilling situation, both Du Weihan’s and An Chenru’s fans had already mentally prepared themselves for their Heartbeat Coins to be wiped out.
【Wuuwuuwuu, our Weihan really suffered an undeserved disaster! He was about to leave the haunted house, and then he ran into Su Zhi halfway. This is just too unlucky!】
【Damn. If they get caught, it’s straight back to square one!】
【By the way, what exactly did Su Zhi’s group do to trigger the ghost bride’s hatred?】
【Don’t even mention it. After Su Zhi and An Chenru entered the instance, they relied on Su Zhi’s serpentine footwork to perfectly avoid all the NPCs. I originally thought they’d be the first to clear the haunted house, but who knew the ghost bride was standing right at the exit?!】
【And then? Did Su Zhi provoke the ghost bride and trigger the hatred?】
【Of course not. It was An Chenru. While dodging, he accidentally lifted the ghost bride’s red veil, directly triggering the hatred. As for Su Zhi……】
The comment paused there for a moment before continuing.
【While escaping, Su Zhi robbed an NPC and conveniently snatched the map marking the room with the secret passage.】
Netizens: ……
Just as the netizens were still shocked by Su Zhi’s outrageous maneuver, An Chenru and Du Weihan had already followed her into a room.
After Du Weihan entered, Su Zhi skillfully locked the door, then began surveying the entire room.
Du Weihan leaned against the wall, his face flushed red as he panted heavily. Once he caught his breath, he roared, “Su Zhi, you actually dragged me into this!”
Just a moment ago, he had been a hair’s breadth away from being caught by the NPCs!
Seeing how furious Du Weihan was, and remembering that the NPC hatred had been triggered because of him, An Chenru guiltily tried to explain, “Um, there were NPCs chasing us at the time, so we came to your instance through the secret passage. We didn’t want this either.”
Du Weihan’s anger was not extinguished. Instead, it burned even hotter. “When you were running for your lives, couldn’t you have at least warned me? Do you know I almost got caught?!”
Su Zhi frowned and looked back at the two of them. “If you don’t want your Heartbeat Coins cleared, then stay quiet!”
As she spoke, she flicked the map in her hand and said to Du Weihan, “After all, I’m the only one who can find the secret passage. Understand?”
Du Weihan was completely choked by her words. Just as he was about to say something else, a rapid series of footsteps sounded from outside the door.
Du Weihan and An Chenru both stared warily at the locked door, unconsciously lowering even their breathing.
The next second, violent banging came from outside, accompanied by the door shaking violently.
Du Weihan could not help retreating a few steps as he shouted at Su Zhi, “Didn’t you say you could find the secret passage?! Then hurry up and find it!”
Drawn by the intense scene on Su Zhi’s side, many netizens rushed over from other livestreams.
Seeing the three of them locked inside the room while large numbers of NPCs slammed against the door, the viewers could not help but exclaim.
【Damn, is it really this exciting? I almost forgot this is a dating show!】
【Tell me about it. I just came from Little Sister Zhiyan’s stream. Seeing something this intense all of a sudden is honestly hard to process!】
【Su Zhi is such a bad omen. Whoever runs into her ends up unlucky!】
【Can you haters stop blaming everything on Su Zhi? This time, it was clearly caused by An Chenru, okay?】
【Exactly. Now it all depends on whether Su Zhi can find the secret passage and lead them out safely.】
【Hard. Very hard. The haunted house’s secret passages are extremely hidden. So many people have tried to find them before. Even with the map in Su Zhi’s hand, there’s no way she can find it in just a few minutes, especially when the door looks like it’ll be broken down in about a minute.】
Just as that comment was sent out, the viewers heard Su Zhi’s voice come through the livestream.
“Found it.”
