Ao Jing was stunned by the sudden turn of events. He stared in shock at Liu Xiangyun on the bed, his brow furrowing deeply.
How could Yun’er behave in such an undignified manner?
“Brother Jing!”
Liu Xiangyun herself was terrified. She sat frozen on the bed, unable to move, as something uncontrollable continued to gush out from beneath her. A sharp, twisting pain began to grip her lower abdomen.
Intestines rotting, belly tearing apart.
Bai Jinshu’s words echoed in her ears, sending chills down Liu Xiangyun’s spine.
“Brother Jing, save me! It’s Bai Jinshu—she poisoned me! She wants to kill me, to kill our child!”
Even at death’s door, she showed no remorse.
Bai Jinshu was in no hurry. She watched calmly, curious to see how long Liu Xiangyun could endure.
“What?”
Ao Jing was both shocked and furious. The foul stench filling the room churned his stomach, and rage surged through him so violently he nearly fainted again.
“Guards! Guards, quickly!”
He shouted toward the door.
Go ahead and shout, Bai Jinshu thought. Everyone in this courtyard had been drugged unconscious by her. At this hour, the guards outside would assume they had retired for the night and wouldn’t intrude without an emergency.
Still, even Bai Jinshu was struggling to withstand the odor.
She somewhat regretted giving Liu Xiangyun this particular poison.
It truly was a case of injuring the enemy a thousand, while harming oneself eight hundred.
“Ah, it hurts so much!”
Liu Xiangyun’s abdominal pain intensified unbearably. She could no longer hold back and began writhing on the bed. Foul excretions splattered everywhere, covering her body in a grotesque, unsightly mess.
“Bai Jinshu, you vicious witch! How could I have ever married you?”
“Divorce by mutual agreement.”
Bai Jinshu uttered the two words crisply and decisively.
Ao Jing clearly hadn’t expected her to say that.
Hadn’t she been the one begging to marry him back then?
If not for her, he would have long since married the Grand Tutor’s granddaughter. With the Grand Tutor’s full support and his status as the emperor’s legitimate son, the crown prince position would have been practically within his grasp.
She cost him the Grand Tutor’s backing, brought Yun’er to such a wretched state, and now she wanted a divorce?
Not a chance!
He would definitely kill her—nothing less could quell the hatred burning in his heart!
“Concubine Liu, once your intestines rot, the antidote will be useless.”
Observing Ao Jing’s murderous expression, Bai Jinshu calmly retrieved a small black pill from her sleeve. Her voice was languid as she said, “There’s only one antidote. If you truly don’t want it, then I’ll just…”
She made a move as if to destroy the pill. Liu Xiangyun panicked and cried out, “No… no… I’ll talk! I’ll tell you everything!”
“Brother Jing.”
Sobbing, Liu Xiangyun crawled down from the bed and frantically scrambled toward Ao Jing. “I’m sorry, Brother Jing. It was Yun’er’s fault. Yun’er deceived you. I faked the pregnancy to frame the Princess Consort, hoping to use your hand to kill her… I’m sorry, I know I was wrong. I truly know I was wrong.”
Seeing her crawl toward him, Ao Jing instinctively wanted to recoil. But bound as he was, he couldn’t escape. He could only endure as she clutched his pant leg, weeping and confessing. His face contorted into a tight grimace as he fought the urge to vomit.
“What did you say?”
Hearing this, Ao Jing’s eyes widened in disbelief. His expression twisted grotesquely, becoming uglier than ever.
But Liu Xiangyun paid no heed to his reaction. Once she had blurted everything out, she immediately turned to Bai Jinshu, her face tear-streaked and pitiful, as if she were the one who had suffered a grave injustice.
“Sister Princess Consort, I’ve told you everything. Please, give me the antidote now. I beg you.”
Having achieved her goal, Bai Jinshu tossed the pill to Liu Xiangyun.
In truth, it was not poison at all, merely a laxative.
And this so-called antidote was nothing more than a lump of mud she had casually picked up in the yard before entering.
Liu Xiangyun had dug her own grave, and Ao Jing would naturally deal with her. Next, she only needed to find a way to obtain the divorce by mutual agreement document to completely break free from Prince Jing's residence.
"Bai Jinshu, why aren't you untying me?" Ao Jing's handsome face still showed unconcealed anger as he growled at Bai Jinshu in a commanding tone.
"You can stay here tonight and keep your Yun'er company." With that, Bai Jinshu turned to leave.
Suddenly, hurried footsteps echoed from outside the door.
"Your Highness, are you asleep? Something has happened!"
