The Bloodthirsty Violent Bear’s body continued to radiate a terrifying aura.

Its enormous frame had expanded even further after activating Berserk.

Kael Veyron looked up at the creature.Full novel: The Rise of the Thunderborn — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He couldn’t help clicking his tongue.

“It triggered Berserk right from the start.”

“Looks like that little walk I gave you really made you angry.”

Rare and powerful Ferocious Beasts often possessed abilities comparable to human Combat Techniques.

Berserk was one of the most common.

According to human research, when a Ferocious Beast entered Berserk, the little intelligence it possessed would be almost completely suppressed.

The beast would become a pure killing machine.

In exchange, its physical strength would increase dramatically.

Normally, Ferocious Beasts only entered Berserk when they were pushed into a life-or-death situation.

But the Bloodthirsty Violent Bear had activated it almost immediately.

There was only one explanation.

Kael had thoroughly enraged it.

The bear had spent the previous battle being led around like an oversized pet, unable to catch its opponent even once.

Now it had finally lost its patience.

Kael smiled.

“But I’m not stupid enough to fight you head-on.”

His Blood Qi had already reached 181, and the internal stimulation from Purple Sky Thunder had pushed his physical strength even further.

His current strength was astonishing.

But even so…

He wasn’t going to compete with a six-meter-tall Tier Two Beast King in raw strength.

That would be suicide.

His greatest advantage was speed.

“Then let’s fight with agility.”

Boom!

Purple lightning flashed.

Kael’s figure disappeared.

The Bloodthirsty Violent Bear’s instincts immediately warned it that something was wrong.

But before it could react…

Slash!

A sharp wound suddenly opened across its left leg.

Purple lightning crawled through the wound.

Then…

Puchi!

Blood erupted from the severed artery like a geyser.

“ROAR!”

The Bloodthirsty Violent Bear roared in pain.

Its enormous paw swung downward.

The attack was powerful enough to crush Kael into the ground.

But the target was already gone.

Compared with a six-meter-tall bear, Kael’s 1.86-meter frame was incredibly small.

His movements were also far more agile.

With Purple Sky Thunder constantly stimulating his cells, his speed had reached an entirely different level.

Before the bear’s paw could reach him, Kael had already appeared beside its other leg.

The Obsidian Spear flashed.

Slash!

Another deep wound appeared.

Blood sprayed across the ruined ground.

The Bloodthirsty Violent Bear hadn’t even managed to locate Kael.

“ROOOAR!”

The pain drove it completely mad.

It began swinging its massive paws wildly.

It no longer cared about precision.

It simply attacked everything around it.

BOOM!

A paw smashed into the ground.

BOOM!

Another swept through a ruined wall.

The Bloodthirsty Violent Bear had become a living demolition machine.

Several corpses lying nearby were crushed beneath its attacks.

But Kael had already retreated.

He watched the furious beast carefully.

Then his eyes narrowed.

“Now.”

The Purple Sky Thunder surrounding his body suddenly surged.

Crackle–!

Countless purple bolts erupted.

Lightning poured toward the Bloodthirsty Violent Bear from every direction.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

The entire battlefield was illuminated by purple light.

The Bloodthirsty Violent Bear’s body was bombarded continuously.

Its speed was already inferior to Kael’s.

Now that both of its legs had been wounded, its movements became even slower.

Berserk had destroyed much of its intelligence, but its basic instincts remained.

It understood that the lightning wasn’t powerful enough to kill it instantly.

So instead of chasing Kael, it simply lowered its body and protected its vital points.

Purple lightning continued striking its thick fur.

Crackle!

BOOM!

Crackle!

The bombardment continued.

Ten seconds.

Twenty seconds.

Thirty seconds.

The gray-white fur covering the Bloodthirsty Violent Bear gradually became charred black.

Smoke rose from its body.

Kael watched silently.

That should be enough.

His figure flashed.

He appeared less than three meters in front of the Bloodthirsty Violent Bear.

For the enormous creature, three meters was nothing.

It only needed one step.

The bear moved its leg.

But then…

It froze.

Its legs wouldn’t respond.

The creature tried again.

Nothing.

Its arms also felt strangely heavy.

It couldn’t lift them.

Kael shook his head.

“You endured my Purple Sky Thunder for more than half a minute.”

“Did you really think nothing would happen?”

The Bloodthirsty Violent Bear’s fur had indeed provided excellent protection.

But Kael’s Obsidian Spear had already pierced through that defense at both legs.

During the prolonged lightning bombardment, some of the electricity had entered the wounds.

The current had traveled through the bear’s body.

Its nerves were being disrupted.

That was exactly what Kael had been waiting for.

“Can’t move?”

Kael tightened his grip on the Obsidian Spear.

“Then you’re a stationary target.”

He attacked.

Puchi!

The spear pierced flesh.

Puchi!

Another strike.

Puchi!

Another.

Kael’s spear became a blur.

Purple lightning surrounded his body as he attacked again and again.

The fifty-kilogram Obsidian Spear was wielded with terrifying speed.

In only three or four seconds…

Dozens of wounds appeared across the Bloodthirsty Violent Bear’s body.

Each wound was roughly the size of a bowl.

Purple electricity crawled through them.

Against an ordinary Ferocious Beast, such injuries would have been fatal.

But the Bloodthirsty Violent Bear was a Tier Two Beast King.

Its body was simply too powerful.

Those wounds were painful.

But they were far from fatal.

Then…

The bear suddenly felt something.

Its arms were recovering.

Its nerves were beginning to respond.

A cruel expression appeared on its enormous face.

My body is recovering.

I can move again.

It prepared to attack.

But before it could swing its paw…

Kael jumped.

His body rose to the level of the bear’s chest.

His expression remained completely calm.

His eyes were black and white, sharp and unwavering.

Then his voice rang out beside the beast’s ear.

“Lightning Gale Break!”

BOOM!

The Obsidian Spear erupted with terrifying lightning energy.

The Bloodthirsty Violent Bear’s instincts screamed.

Danger.

Extreme danger.

It tried to raise its arms.

But it was too late.

Kael’s spear struck directly into its chest.

BOOOOOOM!

Purple thunder exploded.

The massive bear was launched backward like a cannonball.

It crashed through a ruined flower bed.

Then it slammed into the ground.

Rumble!

Its enormous body plowed through the earth for more than ten meters before finally stopping.

Silence.

Kael stared at the battlefield.

A huge charred hole had been blasted through the bear’s left chest.

The heart that had once been there was completely destroyed.

Only remnants of purple lightning remained inside the wound.

The Bloodthirsty Violent Bear’s enormous body trembled.

Its strength was rapidly disappearing.

Its consciousness became blurry.

It desperately tried to stand.

Its front legs pushed against the ground.

Its body rose slightly.

One step.

That was all it managed.

Then…

Boom!

The Bloodthirsty Violent Bear collapsed.

Its enormous body struck the ground.

The terrifying aura that had dominated the entire residential complex disappeared.

The Tier Two Beast King was dead.

At that moment, the familiar system notification appeared in Kael’s mind.

[Killed one Tier Two Bloodthirsty Violent Bear.

Ability Points +24.]

Kael stood with the Obsidian Spear in his hand.

He slowly exhaled.

“Finally…”

“It’s over.”

That battle had pushed his current combat strength close to its limit.

The fight itself had lasted less than two minutes.

Yet every second had demanded extreme concentration.

His body had been pushed continuously.

His Spirit had remained tense throughout the entire battle.

Even with his Blood Qi and Spirit already above 180, he still felt exhausted.

Fortunately…

He had won.

And Kael still had another trump card.

The thousands of Ability Points stored within the Deep Blue System.

If his final combination hadn’t been enough to kill the Bloodthirsty Violent Bear, he could have immediately spent Ability Points to strengthen his basic attributes.

The bear had never truly had a chance.

Kael’s victory had been almost inevitable from the moment he entered the battlefield.

He deactivated the internal lightning stimulation.

The purple glow disappeared from his eyes.

The lightning surrounding his body gradually withdrew.

The moment the enhancement vanished, Kael felt a wave of weakness.

He frowned slightly.

But he quickly understood.

This wasn’t true exhaustion.

It was simply the contrast between his enhanced state and his normal state.

His body had returned to the strength it possessed before activating the internal lightning stimulation.

Kael looked around the ruined residential complex.

Every beast in the area was dead.

He suddenly remembered something.

“Now that I’ve cleared the Core Region…”

“How many points do I have?”

Kael activated his smart watch.

The ranking board appeared.

His eyes immediately widened.

1st Place — Kael Veyron — 10,835 Points

Rivergate Second High School

2nd Place — Ethan Blake — 1,103 Points

Rivergate First High School

3rd Place –Marcus Reed — 945 Points

Rivergate First High School

Kael stared at the number at the top.

10,835.

Even though he had expected a huge increase, the number still shocked him.

Ten thousand points.

He had crossed ten thousand.

A smile slowly appeared on his face.

“As expected…”

“The beasts in the Inner Region really are worth far more points.”

The Core Region had already provided him with thousands of points.

But the Inner Region was on an entirely different level.

The Tier Two Bloodthirsty Violent Bear alone had been worth thousands of points in the original examination scoring system, while the High-Tier One beasts had also provided enormous rewards.

Kael looked at his score again.

Then a thought suddenly occurred to him.

“Last year’s highest score in Westhaven Province…”

He remembered hearing that it had been slightly above eight thousand.

Kael’s smile widened.

“Then…”

“Doesn’t that mean I’ve already secured the provincial championship?”

He looked toward the setting sun beyond the ruined buildings.

The Combat Examination still had time remaining.

But at this moment, Kael had already achieved something no candidate from Redhaven City had ever accomplished.

First place in the city.

More than ten thousand points.

And potentially…

Provincial Champion.

Kael tightened his grip around the Obsidian Spear.

The examination wasn’t over yet.

But his name had already begun writing itself into Redhaven City’s history.
