15 – I Wasn’t at a Disadvantage, I Definitely Didn’t Bully You

Gu Pingting was in a good mood. Crabs were crawling around in the wooden bucket, and she leaned over to look. The crabs Feng Shan had caught were all quite large, looking delicious.

Gu Pingting loved eating crabs the most, so she couldn’t help but feel delighted at the sight. She couldn’t resist reaching into the bucket to grab one and take a closer look.Full novel: The Rough Hunter Found a Delicate Princess and Doted on Her Until She Became His Heart’s Treasure — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Just as Feng Shan had finished changing his pants, he heard Gu Pingting let out a cry of “Ouch!” from the yard, followed by loud sobbing.

Feng Shan hurriedly slipped on his shoes and rushed out, only to see Gu Pingting squatting beside the wooden bucket, her slender, fair fingers clamped tightly by a large green crab.

She couldn’t shake the crab off, so she just squatted there, crying loudly—both adorable and pitiful.

Feng Shan found it both amusing and exasperating. He strode over in a few steps and helped her pry the crab away.

The crab’s pincers were sharp, and Gu Pingting’s finger was bleeding from the pinch. Drops of bright red seeped from her delicate, slender finger, making her feel even more pain.

Feng Shan quickly pulled her into the house to tend to her wound. After carefully cleaning it, he gently bandaged it. With a chuckle, he said, “How could you be so clumsy? How did you manage to get your finger pinched?”

Gu Pingting, tears streaming down her face, replied indignantly, “I’ve only ever seen cooked crabs before, not live ones. How was I supposed to know they bite?”

Feng Shan carefully wrapped her injured finger with a strip of cloth, his voice gruff as he comforted her, “The wound isn’t that big. What are you crying for? Even if I broke a hand or a foot, I wouldn’t cry like you. Stop crying now.”

Gu Pingting cried and scolded, “You fool, of course you don’t feel pain! How could you compare to someone as delicate as me, a princess?”

Seeing that he had finished bandaging her, Gu Pingting angrily pulled her small hand away.

With his hand now empty, Feng Shan looked up at her. In that single glance, he froze.

Gu Pingting, with tears on her little face, was truly beautiful…

Her eyes were red at the corners, her cheeks soft and pink, and large, transparent, glistening teardrops clung to her face, making her look like a lotus bud in the morning, dewdrops clinging to its petals.

Or like a soft, milky dumpling with droplets of water on it—no matter how you looked at her, she was stunning!

Feng Shan stared intently at her, really wanting to kiss her!

Gu Pingting didn’t notice Feng Shan’s gaze. She just lowered her eyes to look at her hand, pouting as she complained, “Where did you get this scrap of cloth? It’s all dark and ugly.”

Her tearful voice was soft, making Feng Shan’s heart itch.

Feng Shan clicked his tongue. Never mind, he’d give her a kiss first!

He reached out, grabbed the back of her neck, leaned down, and planted a firm kiss on her lips—smack!

Gu Pingting was completely stunned! She even forgot to cry, tears hanging on her long, thick eyelashes as she stared blankly at Feng Shan.

After kissing her, Feng Shan smacked his lips. Mmm! So soft, so tender, so fragrant!

He was utterly satisfied!!

It took Gu Pingting a long time to react. Trembling with anger, she scolded, “You… you scoundrel! How dare you take liberties with me! You… you’re outrageous! You… you…”

Seeing her flushed with anger and stammering without managing to say much, Feng Shan thought that perhaps the only curse words this little woman knew were “scoundrel” and “fool.”

So adorable!

Seeing his indifferent expression, Gu Pingting, in a fit of rage, slapped Feng Shan hard. She used so much force that her small hand stung with heat afterward.

Rubbing her little hand, she warned, “This slap is for taking liberties with me! If you ever dare to kiss me again, I’ll slap you every time you do!”

Feng Shan’s eyes lit up. “You mean it? Just one slap for one kiss?”

Gu Pingting: ??

What’s got him so happy?

Feng Shan grinned, stepping forward to wrap Gu Pingting in a tight embrace. “We agreed—you can’t go back on your word!”

Before Gu Pingting could react, Feng Shan’s kisses rained down all over her.

Smack, smack, smack…

He covered her entire face with kisses, pressing so hard that his stubble pricked her delicate skin. Gu Pingting was both furious and in pain, yet no matter how she struggled, she couldn’t break free.

She had no idea how many times he kissed her, but by the time he finally stopped, reluctantly pulling away, her cheeks were numb from the prickling.

Gu Pingting was left dazed, standing there in a stupor.

Feng Shan was overjoyed, beaming with delight. “Sixty-six slaps—I made it a lucky number. Go ahead, hit me.”

As he spoke, he leaned his big face close to Gu Pingting, gesturing for her to slap him.

Gu Pingting stared at this shameless man for a long moment before finally, with tears in her eyes, she said resentfully, “Feng Shan, you’re bullying me…”

Feng Shan raised an eyebrow, replying earnestly, “It’s exactly sixty-six slaps. I didn’t miscount—I’m definitely not bullying you.”

Gu Pingting’s eyes instantly reddened. She pushed Feng Shan away, ran to the bed, and threw herself onto it, sobbing loudly.

That fool Feng Shan—she never wanted to speak to him again!

As Gu Pingting lay on the bed crying, Feng Shan finally realized he had gone too far and hurried over to comfort her.

He scooped her up from the bed and held her in his arms, but Gu Pingting, still furious, jumped out of his embrace and pointed at him. “Get out! I don’t want to see you right now!”

Her emotions were running high, so Feng Shan had no choice but to leave first.

Feng Shan was still feeling triumphant, smiling even as he stoked the fire to steam the crabs. Today, he had kissed his wife! If he moved a little faster, he could be holding their child by next year!

While Feng Shan was in the kitchen making his happy plans, Gu Pingting was in her room seething with anger. In the quiet yet fervent noon, wisps of white smoke drifted from the chimney, and the faint aroma of steamed crabs escaped through the gaps in the pot lid.

By the time Feng Shan finished preparing lunch, Gu Pingting had stopped crying. He set the table and went over to call her to eat with a smile.

Gu Pingting got up and sat down at the table. Seeing Feng Shan’s smiling face, she turned her head away, ignoring him.

Feng Shan didn’t mind, simply saying, “Let’s eat. Don’t you love crabs? Go ahead and have some.”

Gu Pingting picked up her chopsticks and began to eat.

Seeing that she was willing to eat, a smile tugged at Feng Shan’s lips. This little woman never mistreated herself—she cherished herself above all else.

And that was a good thing.

If Gu Pingting had reacted to a kiss or a hug by threatening to harm herself or refusing to eat, Feng Shan would have been utterly distressed.

Feng Shan took a big bite of his steamed bun. So what if she was angry with him? It didn’t matter! As long as she didn’t think of hurting herself, Feng Shan had plenty of ways to make her happy again!

Even if it was a bit troublesome, Feng Shan wasn’t afraid. After all, he was the one who had caused it—he had to make it up to her.

Noticing that Gu Pingting was only eating rice and not touching the crabs, Feng Shan realized she probably didn’t want to dirty her hands by shelling them. Seeing his chance to make amends, he quickly washed his hands and began shelling crabs for her.

He picked the largest, plumpest crab, removed the meat, and brought it to her lips. “Here, eat.”

Gu Pingting glanced at him, thought for a moment, then opened her mouth and ate the crab meat. It was sweet and delicious.

Seeing that she liked it, Feng Shan hurriedly shelled more crabs for her.

After shelling several in a row, Gu Pingting said, “I want the crab roe.”

Feng Shan scooped some crab roe with a spoon and fed it to her, smiling as he asked, “Willing to talk to me now? Not angry with me anymore?”

Gu Pingting ate the crab roe but did not respond to his question.

Crab is troublesome and time-consuming to peel, but Feng Shan was extremely patient, feeding Gu Pingting bit by bit until she was full.

Only after Gu Pingting had eaten her fill did Feng Shan begin to devour his own steamed buns, wolfing them down in large bites. Once he had finished his meal, he cleared the dishes.
