“Really? You saw it with your own eyes? She was acting intimately with a man, and they even went into a hotel together?”
“Really. I saw them myself.”
“Good. If she’s cheating with another man, I’ll make sure she’s finished.”
Zhao Yinuo immediately jumped out of bed and started looking for her sunglasses, a hat, and a low-key jacket.
After getting the exact address from her friend, Zhao Yinuo rushed straight to the hotel without even washing her face.
But as soon as she arrived in the hotel lobby, she saw Tang Wan wearing sunglasses and a face mask, dressed in an inconspicuous jacket that covered her from head to toe. She waved at Zhao Yinuo with an arrogant grin.
As a stunning newcomer who could easily be considered one of the most beautiful women in the entertainment industry, Tang Wan naturally drew attention wherever she went. Even with herself thoroughly disguised, anyone looking at her from behind could tell she was a beautiful woman.
“Sis Yinuo, you’re here!”
Tang Wan sounded incredibly enthusiastic. Knowing exactly why Zhao Yinuo had come, she deliberately teased her.
“You wouldn’t happen to be here looking for me, would you?”
Before Zhao Yinuo could answer, Tang Wan dramatically covered her mouth.
“Oh my! Sis Yinuo, don’t tell me you have a crush on me?!”
She pressed a hand to her chest and took an exaggerated step backward.
“You’re making me feel like I need to be careful around you.”
Zhao Yinuo hadn’t caught her in the act, so she gritted her teeth and held herself back. Pretending to be completely casual, she said, “I just came here to take care of something.”
“Take care of what?” Tang Wan asked with a mischievous smile. “Don’t tell me you came here to catch a mistress?”
Then she answered her own question.
“Don’t worry. Mu Yang and I are truly in love. I would never break up with him. I want to stay with him for the rest of our lives.”
She paused before adding with a smile, “Actually, sometimes I’m quite envious of Mu Yang. He has such a capable manager who cares about him so much. Even for your sake, I still wouldn’t break up with him.”
That was nothing short of deliberate provocation.
Zhao Yinuo took a deep breath and warned her, “Don’t push your luck.”
She was Su Muyang’s manager, and he was her client, but they were also close classmates and good friends.
More importantly, Zhao Yinuo had always regarded Su Muyang, at least in her own heart, as the greatest benefactor of her life.
She had grown up in poverty. Her father was an alcoholic, a gambler, and a drug addict. Her mother eventually fled after enduring too much abuse, leaving Zhao Yinuo to fend for herself. By the time she was eight, she was already collecting trash to sell for money.
During the most difficult period of her first year of high school, the money she had painstakingly saved from collecting recyclables was stolen by that useless excuse for a father of hers. With the pressure of both school and daily life crashing down on her, she sat on the steps beside a lake and broke down in tears.
Su Muyang happened to see her.
He offered to support her education.
Because of him, she was able to finish high school and eventually get into an excellent university.
Wanting to repay his kindness, Zhao Yinuo spent several years during college following Su Muyang around like a loyal little shadow. Even when it came time for internships, she went with him to his family’s company.
While she was still an intern, she was already trusted with major projects involving overseas partners. Her résumé was practically glowing. If she continued developing along that path, becoming an executive at the Su Group would have been well within her reach.
Even when Su Muyang had a falling-out with his family and decided to enter the entertainment industry, he became an overnight sensation after appearing on a talent competition, shooting straight to the top.
And Zhao Yinuo went from being an obscure junior manager to a well-known talent manager in the industry.
Then, just as both their careers were taking off, Su Muyang fell in love.
He had only known Tang Wan for two months, and they had been dating for barely one month, yet Su Muyang had already secured two endorsement deals for her and arranged for her to appear on a variety show.
If the two of them were genuinely in love, Zhao Yinuo wouldn’t have been so resentful.
But she was certain Tang Wan was only after the resources.
Worse, Tang Wan gave off the distinct impression that she intended to use Su Muyang for everything she could get and then throw him away once she was done.
Zhao Yinuo had already heard rumors and personally come to catch her in the act twice, but both times she had come up empty-handed.
This time, she stopped pretending.
“What’s the matter? Is this wealthy businessman not to your liking?”
Tang Wan dropped the act as well. She answered matter-of-factly, “He has a wife. I’m not becoming a mistress.”
She could cheat on someone herself if she wanted to, but she absolutely refused to be the third party in someone else’s relationship.
As it happened, Zhao Yinuo had no intention of becoming a mistress either.
She immediately tried to persuade Tang Wan to break up with Su Muyang.
“If you already have thoughts about leaving Su Muyang, why not just break up with him now? Can’t you two just part on good terms?”
Once Su Muyang and Tang Wan broke up, Zhao Yinuo planned to pursue him herself.
Over the past ten years, Su Muyang had long since become one of the pillars of her emotional world.
Ever since he had become hopelessly love-struck, his increasingly strange behavior had frightened Zhao Yinuo. It gave her a powerful sense of impending crisis—as though Su Muyang were about to leave her.
Without even realizing it, she had started desperately wanting to hold on to him.
She didn’t want to lose Su Muyang.
She wanted to stay by his side forever. Only then could she feel truly secure.
Zhao Yinuo earnestly tried to convince Tang Wan to break up, but Tang Wan merely grinned and shook her head.
“No, no, no. I’m not breaking up. Mu Yang and I are truly in love.”
“Then just wait and see.”
“Fine, I’ll wait.”
Tang Wan sounded completely confident.
“Tell me, even if I really did get myself a lover on the side, if I refused to break up with him, do you think Brother Mu Yang would just pretend not to know? And even if he found out, do you think he might actually choose to be a magnanimous husband and put up with it?”
Zhao Yinuo was instantly rendered speechless.
It wasn’t an impossible scenario.
That damn hopeless romantic in love, Su Muyang, made Zhao Yinuo have very little confidence in him when it came to relationships.
As long as she could achieve her goal of breaking them up, the method didn’t matter.
Zhao Yinuo quickly composed herself and calmly replied, “You’ve given me an idea. Just catching the mistress clearly isn’t enough. Next time I find someone suitable, I’ll introduce him directly to you. We can both benefit from the arrangement.”
