Although Zhao Yinuo wholeheartedly supported Tang Wan’s efforts to climb higher, she still felt a little aggrieved knowing that her own company was being treated as nothing more than a stepping stone that Tang Wan looked down on.

“Sure, Tang Wan looks down on my little company. But I can’t exactly blame her when we’re not doing much ourselves.”

The company currently had only one artist—Su Muyang—and Su Muyang was a spoiled, carefree young master who couldn’t handle hardship or tolerate being wronged.Full novel: The Ruthless Boss Has No Name or Status, Yet He’s Jealous — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Having been pampered all his life, Su Muyang wasn’t about to deliberately make himself suffer, and Zhao Yinuo couldn’t bear to pressure him either. She had simply chosen to let him do as he pleased.

His debut had been an instant success, and that achievement alone was enough to shut Chairman Su up. For Su Muyang, it was more than enough.

Besides, a long time had passed since Su Muyang’s last argument with his father. Most of the anger and stubbornness he had been holding onto had already faded, which was why he now dared to pursue love so recklessly, using his own resources to pave the way for Tang Wan.

He had given her everything he could, and she still thought it wasn’t enough.

That ancient-style short video Tang Wan had spent a fortune producing was basically a blatant application letter announcing that she wanted to move up.

She had never put this much effort into anything for Zhao Yinuo and her company.

Being so openly looked down on by Tang Wan actually motivated Zhao Yinuo at work.

She didn’t pressure Su Muyang.

She pressured herself.

That morning, she sat down with a new artist, Lin Haoran, to discuss his career plans. Their views aligned surprisingly well, so Zhao Yinuo immediately prepared to contact his manager at Shengxing Entertainment to discuss his contract termination.

“Will your manager at Shengxing Entertainment be free this afternoon? To ensure a smooth transition and avoid any legal complications, I need to hand over the unfinished work and financial matters with your current manager. We also need to discuss how to divide the income from projects that continue generating revenue after your contract ends.”

“Don’t worry. My manager already knows that I won’t be renewing my contract when it expires. He’s got plenty of free time. He’s actually planning to quit next month and switch careers.”

Hearing that, Zhao Yinuo couldn’t help giving him a sympathetic glance.

What kind of washed-up manager and forgotten artist were these two?

They were practically two people clinging to the same sinking ship.

Then again, the entertainment industry really wasn’t easy.

Every year, countless people fought tooth and nail to get into the business, while countless others couldn’t endure it and left with their tails between their legs.

Fortunately, the company she and Su Muyang ran might be small, but it wasn’t a failure.

Fortunes changed.

There was no reason her company couldn’t eventually grow into a major one. All she lacked was time.

After all, just because a company was large and its owner was wealthy didn’t mean every employee working there would become successful.

Since Lin Haoran’s current manager was already preparing to resign and change careers, and Lin Haoran himself wasn’t particularly famous—and was simply allowing his contract to expire without renewal—there wasn’t much to hand over.

The legal and administrative departments simply followed the standard procedures and stamped the necessary documents. There was no unnecessary wrangling.

Everything went smoothly.

As soon as it was finished, Zhao Yinuo couldn’t resist calling Su Muyang to share the good news.

“Muyang, you don’t have to worry about me only focusing on you anymore. The company will have a new artist in a couple of days. It’s that Lin Haoran you recommended.”

Su Muyang was absolutely delighted to hear the news.

“That’s wonderful! With you at the helm, it’s only a matter of time before the company grows bigger and stronger! But don’t work yourself too hard. Your health is the most important thing. I’ll have Auntie make you some chicken soup. Come over for dinner tonight.”

Zhao Yinuo was just about to agree when Tang Wan suddenly appeared in her line of sight.

Tang Wan walked with a light, almost buoyant step, and there was a triumphant gleam in her eyes. Clearly, something good was about to happen.

Their eyes met.

Tang Wan even raised an eyebrow at her provocatively.

Zhao Yinuo paused for a moment and suppressed the urge to complain about Tang Wan to Su Muyang.

“There’s still something I need to take care of here, so I’m not sure if I can come over tonight. I’ll hang up for now. I’ll tell you about it later.”

Zhao Yinuo had done plenty of things to sabotage Tang Wan before, and she had said plenty of bad things about her too.

But Su Muyang was practically under a spell. He couldn’t hear a single bad word about Tang Wan.

In the end, he would innocently tell Zhao Yinuo how cute, hardworking, and lovable Tang Wan was.

Who wanted to hear that?

If she hadn’t been completely out of options, Zhao Yinuo never would have taken Su Muyang to see a master to have his love obsession dealt with.

Now that Tang Wan had actually arrived at the Shengxing Entertainment building, Su Muyang was still completely unaware of what was happening.

“Okay. Yinuo, go take care of your work. I’ll hang up.”

After hanging up, Su Muyang couldn’t concentrate on his script anymore.

He opened his chat with Tang Wan and started typing.

[Tangtang, I miss you. Are you still busy with work?]

His phone vibrated twice.

Tang Wan picked it up and glanced at the messages. A sweet smile appeared on her face before she quickly suppressed it.

She didn’t reply.

Instead, she put down her phone and turned curiously to Zhao Yinuo.

“Why are you here today?”

“I’m here to discuss work. What about you?”

Zhao Yinuo smiled.

“Judging by that expression, I’m guessing you’re not here for work.”

Tang Wan raised one finger and wagged it.

“Nope. I am here for work. I got a last-minute assignment. I’m here to help record a promotional video.”

“A last-minute assignment?”

Zhao Yinuo savored those words for a moment, her smile becoming rather meaningful.

Shengxing Entertainment had plenty of artists under its umbrella. Even struggling artists like Lin Haoran had plenty of free time. There was no reason they would suddenly find themselves unable to find someone to fill in at the last minute.

Tang Wan showing up here today was most likely something Lu Chi had specifically arranged.

“I’m off. Bye~”

Tang Wan waved casually at Zhao Yinuo and continued striding forward.

As they passed each other, Zhao Yinuo thought about Su Muyang, who was completely in the dark about everything.

She couldn’t help feeling uncomfortable.

She could only console herself:

It’s fine. Breaking up with Tang Wan will be a good thing for Su Muyang. It’ll be like cutting away rotten flesh.

Once Tang Wan dumped Su Muyang, Zhao Yinuo would confess her feelings to him and get together with him.

Then Su Muyang would never leave her again.

Wasn’t that exactly what she wanted?

That was what she told herself.

But when she saw the message Su Muyang had sent her, Zhao Yinuo still stopped in her tracks.

[Yinuo~ Tangtang’s working at Shengxing Entertainment today too. Did you run into her after you finished your work?]

She didn’t want to lie to him.

She couldn’t say she hadn’t seen Tang Wan.

But she couldn’t admit that she had, either.

If she did, Su Muyang would definitely ask a whole string of questions.

And if he kept asking questions, he might eventually uncover the fact that Zhao Yinuo had been helping Tang Wan behind his back.

That wouldn’t be good.

So Zhao Yinuo simply looked at her phone for a moment, then quietly put it away and pretended she hadn’t seen the message.

“Strange. Is everyone really that busy?”

After being given the cold shoulder by two women in a row, Su Muyang poked at his phone screen.

He waited and waited, but no reply came.

In the end, he could only droop dejectedly and pick up the script on his desk, forcing himself to get back to work.

Zhao Yinuo hadn’t replied, but her conscience was bothering her.

She stood there and sighed.

In the end, she couldn’t resist turning around and catching up with Tang Wan.

“I’ll just take a look.”

If she went and saw it with her own eyes, at least she’d feel a little more at ease.
