In the morning, Ayaka begrudgingly got Hatsume’s phone number and saved her as ‘Bimbo’ in her phone. Once we have everything from Hatsume, we meet Ms. Midnight in the room with the help of a dolly and a ratchet strap holding the relief vending machine in place as we wheeled it to the room. We undress and put on our kimonos to blend in with Wano, and we do our teleportation ritual. When we arrive on the beach, Ms. Midnight reaches into her bag and pulls out radios that go in our ears and says, “Put these on so we can talk when we are separated. If anything happens, make sure to let me know, ok?” We nod and put the radios in.
Once we collected ourselves, I popped a jawbreaker in my mouth and teleported all of the loot, plus Ayaka and Ms. Midnight, to the treeline at the edge of the beach, where it is mostly concealed. We popped the tent on the beach by this treeline, and Ayaka groaned upon seeing the tent. It was a big advertisement for Hatsume and her babies, and Ayaka said while smacking her forehead, “Of course that bimbo would have made something like this.” Ms. Midnight says, "Before we get caught up setting things up, why don't we get the locals so we can show them how we set them up?" That totally makes sense. I nod, and I teleport back to O-tsuru’s teahouse across that wasteland.
After teleporting the first group to the beach, the locals asked who the picture was showing on the tent, and we told them that the girl in the many pictures was the inventor helping out. They didn't need her name since it is literally EVERYWHERE. I was going to help them set everything up how they wanted, but they pushed me away, “Bring others here, too.” I nod, and on our way back, O-tsuru told us that this town is called Okobore town, which means ‘leftovers’, and that there are many towns and villages just like it that are starving, only given rotting vegetables and unclean water from the wealthy regions. O-tsuru asks with a worried expression, “Do you by chance know of our pain? I noticed your tears earlier.” I sigh as we continue, “Back home, before Flustrated saved me, I was treated like garbage and even resorted to eating garbage and poisoning myself regularly, and forced myself to sleep often just to survive the hunger. People, heroes, and villains alike all treated me like I was less than human and disgusting, and no one tried to help me. It wasn’t until the day I met Flustrated that my world turned upside-down. She saved me in so many ways, and every day since meeting her, I have had a full stomach. So… I guess, I want to be that person for you all.” I say while trying to hide my face.
O-tsuru hugs me quite suddenly, making me stop teleporting, and she says, “You are not garbage, and you are already our hero. Because of your efforts, we had a full belly yesterday and also today. We love you, and we can’t thank you enough. We are filled with so much gratitude.” She says crying, which makes me cry. We hugged for about a minute or two, and the O-tsuru asked, “Are you ready to get moving again?” I nod and hold her hand and pop another jawbreaker in my mouth and teleport. She asks while we start moving again, “Do the candies give you the ability to teleport?” I sigh, “Yes and no. The jaw breakers themselves are not special. It is the pleasure I get from it being in my mouth that allows me to freely use my quirk. Before meeting Flustrated, I thought I was without a quirk because of the terrible way I was living for the past 11 years.” O-tsuru squeezes my hand, still crying.
We got back to Okobore, and O-tsuru had already told everyone to gather their valuables and anything they wanted to take with them, and had already told them everything that we had prepared for them at the coast. I hear murmurs as they approach with their belongings, “So we can eat like yesterday and this morning every day?” “I never thought the day would come,” and more positive murmurs. I turn to hide my blushing, scowling face, and O-tsuru sees me and giggles.
Sir Floof came out to rub on me a little bit. I bend down to pet him, and I see some kids dancing excitedly in the street. I ask Sir Floof, “Hey, Sir, would you like to play with the kids over there while we continue to teleport the adults without kids? They wanted to have people build homes as soon as possible." He barks and wags his tail, and I pet him as I tell him, “Protect those kids while I'm gone, ok? Use your abilities as you see fit… You know, like I always tell you.” Sir Floof barks and spins. I reach down and pet him, “You are the best friend anyone could ask for.” Sir Floof licks my hand, then adorably barks, and he zooms over to the kids. They scream excitedly and start giggling uncontrollably while playing. I teleport quickly back to O-tsuru, the first two groups were ready, and I had them huddle closely, and I teleport them all the way to the beach. They were completely shocked seeing everything, and I kissed Ayaka before heading back to Okobore.
I get back, and I see villains attacking Okobore. I radioed back to let them know, and Ms. Midnight told me to come back first and get them before engaging. I was going to until I saw the children running across the wasteland towards the treeline. I follow the direction from where they are running, and I see Sir Floof all bloody fighting and about to be cut down. I teleport without thinking, only having my best friend on my mind, and my face catches the blade as I crouch right in front of him, as my armament hand was a little slow and couldn’t catch the blade. It hurts so much, but I focus on the taste of my jawbreaker and teleport Sir Floof away. The villain who struck me had their blade still on my face since this happened so fast that they teleported with us. The bright side, there is only one villain now, not many scattered around. I could tell I surprised him with the sudden location change, and the cut wasn’t as deep as it could have been since he drew back a bit in surprise. Otherwise, I probably would have died from that.
I make my pinky skin a sword and use armament as I hold my wrist like it is a sword, and I go to slash him, yelling, “How dare you hurt my best friend!” I growl as I slash across his stomach, and I feel my face burning in pain. He hops back and clutches his bleeding stomach. I don't know if it is blood blinding my left eye or if he destroyed it. All I know at this moment, I can't see out of it. This is my first villain fight, and it is very nerve-racking. He takes his kimono off at the shoulders and ties the arms around where I cut, and he wields his sword again. He says, “That skinny blade stands no chance against my katana.” I meet his sword with my own, and when our blades disconnect, I teleport behind him and slash him. Before he can turn to cut me, I have teleported away. I kept repeating this until he stopped moving.
I pick up Sir Floof, who is barely conscious, and I say, “Hold on, buddy. I'll get you some help.” I caught up to the children and O-tsuru quickly, and I teleported them with us. I updated Ayaka and Ms. Midnight as I was teleporting back with them, and by the time I teleported on the beach, Ayaka and Ms. Midnight rushed to my side, worried. I pass Sir Floof to O-tsuru and ask, “Can you patch him up for me?” She nods and rushes off with Sir Floof. Ayaka holds my face and starts crying, “Oh no, your eye!” I ask, “Is it really that bad? It stopped burning and is quite numb, so it doesn't feel too bad anymore.” Ms. Midnight says, “That is probably thanks to adrenaline with a little shock sprinkled in. Are you still able to fight?” I nod, and we hold hands and return to Okobore. On the way there, Ms. Midnight told us, “Both of you are to devote your time to rescue. Leave fighting the villains to me. For speed, evacuate them to the treeline at the opposite side of the wasteland, where they will be concealed from the villains.” We nod.
We teleport back to the center of the chaos, where the villains are looting Okobore and stealing all of the meat from the sea beast. Ms. Midnight picks up a pot to deflect swords and smack villains in the head with it. She uses her quirk to put them to sleep in between hits. While she is doing that, Ayaka kisses me and goes 2D, pulling people into her dimension and getting them away. I do the same with my quirk. I see a few dead bodies as I try to find more people to save, and next I hear screams coming from inside one of the houses.
I run into the house to find a villain raping a woman from this village from behind while she is bent over a table. He hears me enter, assuming I am one of his buddies, and yells, “You can go next.” He doesn’t even bother turning around to see who it is, nor does he stop.Enraged at the scenebefore me, I made my pinky a sword and armament and teleported beside him, and he noticed my sudden presence and went to swing his sword too late as I cut his head off. His sword flies past me without making contact. I kicked his bleeding corpse away before it could fall on her. I lowered her hiked up kimono, and she was confused and looked back to see him headless and me with my pinky sword retracting into my finger while dripping blood. I help her up and say, “Let’s get the fuck out of here.” She nods while wiping her tears, and I wrap her arm around my shoulder to support her and start teleporting.
In a matter of minutes, Ms. Midnight had the villains taken care of, and then we finished our evacuations. By the time the sleeping villains come to, they will find that there is no one left in Okobore. It took a long time, but I was able to teleport everyone to the beach. I have used my quirk so much today, but I had to be Plus-Ultra. My legs fall out from under me, and I start to collapse. Since Ayaka was right next to me, holding my hand, she panicked and held me up, preventing me from falling, and yelled for help. It feels like my consciousness is fading because her yells don’t sound loud at all. Almost as if she is yelling into a pillow, and I hear her speaking, but I can’t make out her words. My vision is getting blurry as I see many people coming, showing nonverbal signs of worry. Before they get to me, I can’t hold on anymore and lose consciousness.
When I come to, I see Ayaka, Ms. Midnight on one side, and O-tsuru and the lady I saved earlier on my other side. I go to sit up, and Ayaka pushes me down and says, “You need to rest. Plus, if you move too much, you will wake Sir Floof.” She says, pointing to my side where Sir Floof was cuddling me. He is wrapped up in bandages, and it looks like there are herbs or something under them, which I guess is to facilitate healing. He is purring adorably, so he looks like he will make it. I gently pet him, and he wakes up and excitedly limps to my face and licks me. He looks like a mixture between excited and worried because he whimpered and headbonked me gently on my bandaged face. I smirk at him and continue to pet him, “I would gladly sacrifice my other eye and be completely blind if it meant that I wouldn’t lose you, Sir Floof. Don’t feel bad, ok? You mean the world to me, and this is nothing, so I will be just fine.”
Sir Floof cries and adorably nuzzles into me for a hug. I hold him with one arm, and Ayaka gently squeezes my leg. My stomach growls, and Ayaka leaves my side quickly and returns almost immediately with some roasted sea beast. Both Sir Floof and I were both hungry, so I split this with him. As we eat, O-tsuru says, “Thank you for saving Katsumi… She told me the details.” She starts crying, and tears start to form in my right eye, and I nod. Ayaka and Ms. Midnight don't seem to know the details, and I'm not sure I should tell them. Heroes don't kill like that, and they might be disappointed in me. I finish eating my food, and Katsumi reaches to hold my hand and says, “Hops, thank you so much.”
I gently squeeze her hand while wiping my mouth with my other hand and nod, looking down with a tear running down my face. I thought that I would be more upset over taking a life, but I feel light as a feather. Is this normal? Am I normal? I look back to see Katsumi's face. Seeing Katsumi's face sets my spiraling thoughts at ease. My right eye cries more after seeing her face, and she leans down and hugs me, “Shhh. You didn't do anything wrong. I'm grateful for what you have done for me.” When she hugs me, Sir Floof adorably bonks her gently with his head, and she chuckles slightly through her tears. I whisper to her while she hugs me, “I can get medicine to make sure you don't have that villain's child.” She whispers back, “Won't that make me sick?” I responded, still whispering, “The medicine from my homeland shouldn't make you sick.” She sighs and nods.
I ask Ms. Midnight, “Can we go home and get some more aid for them?” Ms. Midnight says, “As much as I don't like it, I think we need to stay the night so you can rest more before using your quirk again.” I pull her close and whisper, “She needs a contraceptive pill as soon as possible.” Ms. Midnight sighs, realizing what happened, “Ok, I guess that changes things. It seems we are racing against the clock.” Ayaka is lost, but I think I'll tell her everything later. She may not understand, but I don't know if I can keep secrets from her. Ms. Midnight says, “We may need to bring her with us to make sure she gets treatment in time.” O-tsuru nods understanding, and she says, “I'll leave you guys the tent to do your thing. Thank you for all you have done for my people.” We nod, and we do our ritual to go back to Japan. Katsumi held Ms. Midnight’s hand to make it less awkward. I think of that room in UA that we normally teleport out of, and we go back home.
We change out of our kimonos and put our casual clothes on, and we take Katsumi to the locker rooms where she can shower while Ms. Midnight gets her clean clothes that weren't covered in blood. I got some blood on these clothes from my face, but at least I don't look like I killed anyone. Ayaka asked while they were gone, “So what happened?” I grit my teeth and sigh and tell her the story and how I killed that man, and also how I don't feel guilty about it and feel worried about that. I finish by asking, “Am I turning into a monster?” Ayaka hugs me and whispers, “Shhhhh. You are not a monster. You saved her, and anything less could have put you at risk as well. It's alright to not feel guilty. You stood for what you believed in.” I start crying out of my right eye, and we get interrupted by Ms. Midnight, and she says, “When she gets out of the shower, I'm taking you all to Recovery Girl. Oh. While Katsumi is here, I'll watch over her so you kids don't have to worry. I have already let Principal Nezu in the loop.” We nod in understanding.
When Katsumi finished, we went to see Recovery Girl, who was shocked at my appearance and the obvious bad injury. I gesture nonverbally for her to take care of Katsumi first. Ms. Midnight whispers to her, and Recovery Girl looks to Katsumi and power walks away and comes back with a few pills and a glass of water, “Take these. One will terminate any conception while the others will prevent any sexually transmitted diseases.” Katsumi understands and takes the pills. Recovery Girl asks her while she takes the pills, “Are you in any pain?” She nods, and Recovery Girl kisses her to heal her. Katsumi was shocked that she was healed so quickly, and she gently squeezed Recovery Girl's hand in thanks as Recovery Girl looked at her with worry before leaving her side to tend to my wounds. Recovery Girl then removes my bandages and hisses, “Sssss. It appears you lost your eye. Before I heal it completely, go visit the support course. That brilliant girl seems like she could make a functional prosthetic for you. If I heal too much now, we probably won't be able to get your vision back. Let me heal the skin on your face at least, and clean up the inside of the socket a bit.” I nodded and she kissed me as I felt the skin on my face zip together, and she had a nurse clean up inside my eye and provided me with a medical eyepatch to cover my eye hole. Recovery Girl told me that I needed to rest, but I didn't plan to, and she could tell, and sighed. Recovery Girl also kissed Sir Floof to heal most of his injuries at my request, which she did without a second thought. I sigh in relief, seeing the wounds on him heal. Then we went to visit Hatsume.
Hatsume was still talking to Bulma when we arrived. Don't know if it is the same call or if they just call each other so frequently that it seems like they are always talking. Hatsume hisses seeing my face and says, “Sssss. What happened to you?” Ayaka asks, “She lost her eye in a villain attack while abroad. Could you make her a functioning prosthetic?” Bulma says loudly over the phone, “WHAT?! That is terrible! We could probably make one in a few days to a week.” Hatsume says, “Same here.” Miss Bulma then follows up, “Ok, so if we are making a functioning prosthetic, we need to make sure your enemies can't disable your vision with electromagnetic pulse attacks. Hey Hatsume, do you have any alloys there that are immune to those?” Hatsume tilts her head in confusion, “What do you mean? We don't have any alloys completely immune to EMP attacks.” Bulma then replies, “Then let me handle making this prosthetic. I found an interesting alloy on Namek not too long ago that I think would be perfect for this.” Hatsume groaned, “Awwww, but I was wanting to play!” Bulma giggles, “I never said I would do it alone. Do you have any ideas?” Hatsume laughs, “Do I? I have tons! It will definitely need night vision!” They completely forgot we were here and started nerding out, so we left.
After talking with Hatsume, we head home to a very worried and doting Mr. and Mrs. Kubo upon hearing what happened and seeing the long scar on my face from the sword and the eye patch. We gave them the summary of events and about the prosthetic eye Bulma and Hatsume are making. I brought out Sir Floof, who has scars now, and they poured affection on him that he loved. He gets the zoomies, even though he is tired from being healed, which makes us giggle. Garlic comes out and zooms with him. I am particularly exhausted from using my quirk so much today on so many people and they notice and Ayaka says, “We probably should wash, the dirt, blood and ash off our bodies before laying down and I nod and follow her into the bathroom to take a careful bath so I don't mess up this medical eye patch or get water in that hole on my face where my eye goes. Sir Floof pawed at the door, and Mom let him in the bathroom with us, and he nonverbally asked that we help clean him, too. I gently picked him up into the bath with us and started wiping off the herbal poultice and blood. After bathing, we went to bed, and I fell asleep almost immediately upon touching the bed because I was so exhausted. As did Sir Floof.
The next day, I feel so refreshed after sleeping, but the adrenaline from everything yesterday wore off, and my eye, or lack thereof, hurts like a bitch. The exposed nerves and blood vessels inside the void of my eye socket are really burning today, similar to when it first happened. Sir Floof stirred as I did and adorably bonked me in the face to say 'Good Morning'. I sigh in pain and respond in a whisper, "Good morning, Sir Floof." Ayaka stirred awake and noticed my nonverbal signs that I was in pain. She got up and got me some over-the-counter pain pills that I struggled to get down, but I like taking pills like this before eating. I don't like taking pills after eating, since it feels like I am about to throw up when I take pills.
As I eat the omurice Mrs. Kubo made us for breakfast, I replay the events from yesterday, and they feel like a nightmare, but the burning pain from my missing eye is proof it was all real. I'm still very worried for the people of Wano, and there are so many more that I can save. Many more that I NEED to save. I am so in my own world, thinking of Wano in this moment, that I don't notice Mrs. Kubo looking at me with worry, which makes her worry more.
While Hatsume was talking with Bulma about the particulars for my eye, she was making more tents, water breathers, replacement vacuum-sealed blankets and pillows for the vending machine, and such. We aren't going to wait for my eye to be completed and are going to take what we can now. I don't need both eyes to use my quirk, and I don't want these people to go hungry longer than they have to.
We get a lot of medical supplies and pain medicine for the wounded and bring it with the other stuff to the room we teleport out of, and Ms. Midnight is there with Katsumi, who is wearing a new kimono that Ms. Midnight probably bought. Mrs. Kubo is going to wash the kimonos from Wano today since the blood is having trouble coming out, so she is soaking them. So we are wearing Ayaka’s kimonos right now. Katsumi looks exhausted, and she says, seeing us, “I don't know how you guys can sleep in a loud place like this.” I guess in comparison to Wano, this is really loud here in Japan. I tell her, “I think I prefer the peace and quiet of Wano myself.” Ayaka asks, “Are you ready to go back?” She nods, and we then do our travel ritual back to the shores of Wano.
