Main Story:
“Young Master Chu, where are you right now?”
Chu Yanyi looked dazed for a moment. “At school.”
“What time do your classes end?”
“Five thirty.”
“I’ll pick you up at school at five thirty.”
“Okay. Thanks, Brother Qiu.”
After hanging up, Chi Yu turned his head and asked, “Who was that?”
“My sugar daddy’s driver,” Chu Yanyi replied without much expression.
“What does he want with you?”
“Summoned by my sugar daddy. I’m on bedchamber duty[1]An expression associated with being summoned to attend a ruler in bed in an imperial setting. Here, Chu Yanyi uses it mockingly to describe his arrangement with Song Yanxi. jQuery('#footnote_plugin_tooltip_3558570_1_1').tooltip({ tip: '#footnote_plugin_tooltip_text_3558570_1_1', tipClass: 'footnote_tooltip', effect: 'fade', predelay: 0, fadeInSpeed: 200, delay: 400, fadeOutSpeed: 200, position: 'top center', relative: true, offset: [-7, 0], }); tonight.”
Chu Yanyi went to the entrance and put on his shoes. As if remembering something, he turned to Chi Yu. “I didn’t drive here. Can you take me to school?”
“Why not have him come pick you up here?”
A faint smile touched Chu Yanyi’s eyes. “Have you forgotten? I’m supposed to be a poor student at A University right now.”
“Oh, right.”
It finally dawned on Chi Yu. He nodded and went to get the car keys.
5:40 p.m., outside the gates of A University.
After getting into the car, Chu Yanyi let out a long breath and gave a slightly apologetic smile. “Sorry to keep you waiting, Brother Qiu.”
His voice was clear and melodious, like a mountain spring flowing through a ravine.
Qiu Liang glanced at the young man in the back seat through the rearview mirror.
He looked to be in his early twenties, with both the fresh, clean air of youth and the cool, refined bearing of a wealthy young gentleman.
He was slender and fair-skinned, with striking bone structure, smooth facial contours, well-defined lips, a straight, graceful nose, and beautifully delicate brows and eyes.
His face seemed painstakingly sculpted by heaven itself, blessed with both fine features and strong bone structure.
“Don’t mention it, Young Master Chu.”
Half an hour later, the car reached Huajinyuan.
Chu Yanyi’s sugar daddy was Song Yanxi, CEO of the Song Group. Huajinyuan was just one of the places where he occasionally stayed.
Apart from the cleaner who came once a week, there were no servants here.
Although Song Yanxi had instructed someone to give him the house’s passcode six months ago, Chu Yanyi hardly ever came here unless Song Yanxi summoned him.
He entered the passcode, stepped inside, and immediately ordered takeout on his phone.
An hour later, the food arrived. Knowing Song Yanxi wouldn’t be back anytime soon, Chu Yanyi opened three of the containers: spicy yellow eel, bullfrog with perilla, and sour-and-spicy lotus root shoots. He settled down at the table and ate at his leisure.
When he finished, he opened the windows to let the smell out, packed the empty takeout containers into a black trash bag, and tossed the bag into the kitchen trash can.
Song Yanxi never set foot in the kitchen anyway, so there was little chance he’d notice.
He’d take the bag out and throw it away when he left tomorrow. No one would be any the wiser.
He’d been doing this for more than six months, and Song Yanxi had never suspected a thing.
After that, he carried the remaining containers into the kitchen, emptied their contents onto plates, and arranged the dishes on the dining table.
Days had grown shorter since autumn began. Now, in late autumn, darkness fell before six in the evening.
The neon lights on distant high-rises were already on, glittering brightly.
Chu Yanyi glanced up at the large clock on the wall: 19:35. Figuring Song Yanxi would be getting off work soon, he opened the chat with the contact saved as 【That Damn Man】 and quickly tapped out a message.
【Chu Yanyi】: Mr. Song, are you off work yet? When will you be home?
【Chu Yanyi】: I made steamed sea bass, stir-fried shrimp with cashews, dry-fried broccoli, and Sichuan-style spicy poached beef tonight. Oh, and I simmered some old-duck soup, too. They’re all your favorites.
【Chu Yanyi】: Mr. Song, I love you〔kiss〕.
After sending several messages in a row, he switched screens and started playing a game without bothering to check whether Song Yanxi had replied.
He got absorbed in the game. By the time his eyes began to ache, it was already eleven at night.
Whenever Song Yanxi sent the driver to pick him up, he usually arrived around eight or nine. It was rare for him to be nowhere in sight by eleven.
Thinking Song Yanxi probably wasn’t coming after all, Chu Yanyi couldn’t be bothered to wait any longer. He went upstairs to the guest bedroom to wash up.
He’d been with Song Yanxi for nearly two years and had come here countless times, but he’d never once entered the master bedroom.
He always slept in the guest bedroom. Whenever Song Yanxi wanted to have sex, he came to the guest room, then went back to the master bedroom afterward.
They might have been as physically intimate as two people could be, but they’d never spent the night in the same bed.
The thought that Song Yanxi wouldn’t come tonight—and that he wouldn’t wake up sore and stiff tomorrow—put Chu Yanyi at ease. He soon fell asleep.
He was drifting in and out of sleep when he suddenly felt an overwhelming presence crowding in on him.
A moment later, a large hand with prominent knuckles slipped beneath his pajama top and began kneading the skin at his waist.
Chu Yanyi was wide awake in an instant. He reached out and switched on the bedside lamp.
In the soft light, a stern face with sharply chiseled features loomed before him.
He blinked, his voice as tender and affectionate as his gaze. “Mr. Song, have you eaten? If not, I can heat up the food.”
Song Yanxi held him down, his brows knitting slightly. “No need. I’ve already eaten.”
That barely perceptible frown told Chu Yanyi he was in a bad mood.
Catching the faint scent of alcohol on Song Yanxi’s breath, he asked cautiously, “Mr. Song, have you been drinking?”
Song Yanxi gave a flat “Mm.” The hand inside Chu Yanyi’s pajamas had already moved from his waist to his chest.
Chu Yanyi shivered involuntarily.
The next moment, the man’s tall, powerful body came down over him, his slightly drunken gaze openly predatory.
Chu Yanyi stiffened and gently pushed at Song Yanxi’s chest. “Mr. Song, please take a shower first… Mmph…”
Before he could finish, pain made him draw a sharp breath.
The man had always been domineering and never considered his feelings in bed.
Panting, Chu Yanyi wrapped his arms around the man’s neck. “It hurts…”
Song Yanxi looked down at him. Chu Yanyi’s delicate face glowed like jade, his lips glistening, soft and inviting. His curled lashes trembled like butterfly wings, and there was something alluring in the curve of his brows and the corners of his eyes.
For a fleeting moment, Song Yanxi’s gaze softened. Then he looked again at those bewitching, affectionate eyes, and the warmth vanished. He raised his large hand, its knuckles prominent, and covered Chu Yanyi’s eyes.
“Endure it.”
His voice held no emotion, not the slightest trace of warmth.
Chu Yanyi knew that of all his features, his eyes were the least like that other person’s. That was why Song Yanxi always made him close them, covered them with his hand, or simply blindfolded him with a tie.
