Fu Zhen’s sinister gaze shot toward Liu Yajun: “What did you say I’m interested in?”

Liu Yajun instantly fell silent, too frightened to utter another word.

But in his mind, he muttered—if you’re not interested, why were you sniffing someone else’s handkerchief like a creep?Full novel: The Sweet Little Boss is Actually a Vicious NPC! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Just yesterday, after Wen Di escorted them back to their room, Liu Yajun had to use the bathroom and left the room again. As soon as he stepped out, he saw Wen Di emerge from the room across the way. Startled, he immediately crouched down, peeking out with just half his head. That’s when he noticed another figure appear from around the corner of the hallway behind Wen Di.

It was Fu Zhen.

Wen Di seemed to be in a hurry, likely also heading to the bathroom, and accidentally dropped a piece of cloth on the ground along the way.

Fu Zhen watched him from behind. After Wen Di disappeared from sight, he walked over and picked up the cloth. It looked like a handkerchief.

Liu Yajun initially thought nothing of it, but the next second, his eyes widened in shock—Fu Zhen picked up the cloth that had fallen on the ground, sniffed it, seemed to pause for a moment, then buried half his face in it, taking a deep inhale for a long time.

A beam of white light allowed him to clearly see the expression on Fu Zhen’s face.

Obsessed, intoxicated, frenzied.

His eyes burned like torches.

Like a stalker from a suspense drama.

Liu Yajun was so frightened he ducked back inside.

Anyone would think Fu Zhen was the BOSS of this Instance.

But he quickly reasoned it out—geniuses are all a bit off, especially someone who’s survived eight Instances. It’d be weird if their mind wasn’t messed up—so what if he likes sniffing someone else’s dropped handkerchief?

No big deal.

No big deal…

Having convinced himself, Liu Yajun peeked out again. Fu Zhen was already gone, so he sighed in relief, hurried to the bathroom, and returned to his room to sleep.

But just now, hearing Fu Zhen’s question, his first instinct as a man was that Fu Zhen was jealous of Wen Di’s dead ghost husband, which was why he asked such an irrelevant question.

His mouth had run ahead of his brain.

Wen Di didn’t pay much attention to Liu Yajun’s words. Hearing Fu Zhen’s question, he froze in place, hanging his head, his face paling slightly.

Fu Zhen withdrew his gaze, his cold, sharp eyes once again fixed on Wen Di’s face: “Answer me. Do you or don’t you?”

Wen Di nervously twisted his fingers, subconsciously pouting. Unwillingly, he turned his head away and uttered two words: “I don’t…”

Two light, soft words, and the room fell silent.

The next second, like a lake exploding, Liu Yajun exclaimed: “You don’t?? Holy shit??”

Lu Jieyang was also stunned, feeling as if hundreds of fireworks had gone off inside him—he was absolutely thrilled!

He turned to see Wen Di’s despondent expression and, suppressing his excitement, put on a gentlemanly demeanor to comfort him: “Did he treat you poorly?”

Liu Yajun couldn’t hold back: “Is he sick or something??”

As soon as he said it, he immediately covered his mouth, horrified, clasping his hands together and apologizing to the surroundings: “Brother, brother, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean you’re incapable, I absolutely didn’t mean that. It’s just… a normal person wouldn’t do something like that.”

Although Liu Yajun wasn’t interested in men—he only liked women—even a die-hard straight guy like him was captivated by Wen Di’s face at first sight. He was truly beautiful! And his skin was so delicate!

No wonder Lu Jieyang initially mistook him for a girl.

With such a beautiful wife, what man could resist? And to hold back for a whole year?? Unless that man was incapable.

Liu Yajun belatedly widened his eyes—this might just be the key clue to this Instance!!

“How… how did you even think to ask that question?” Liu Yajun immediately looked at Fu Zhen with eyes full of admiration.

Fu Zhen returned to his expressionless state, sitting back in his seat, lowering his gaze without a word.

What’s with the act? Liu Yajun silently complained.

Wen Di didn’t want to dwell on this question any longer, as if a sore spot had been exposed, his eyes slightly reddened. Then, with a stern face, he said, “Alright, the last question.”

The ownership of the last question lay with Lu Jieyang.

Lu Jieyang was just too strange as a Player. Ever since arriving here, he had been doing things that were impossible to understand.

He kept sticking close to the NPCs, which could be explained as trying to get clues from them, but his reaction just now—clearly, he was defending the NPC!

What Player would genuinely defend an NPC?

Take himself, for example—his first thought was that Fu Zhen was slacking off, which was why he got so anxious!

“If you don’t know what to ask, let Fu Zhen ask instead. Don’t waste this opportunity,” Liu Yajun felt compelled to cautiously remind him.

Lu Jieyang was currently ecstatic.

Ecstatic to an eerie degree.

No one knew why he was so excited, nor what lay beneath his sunny, handsome mask. In any case, from the moment he entered this small room, Lu Jieyang’s eyes hadn’t left Wen Di.

Lu Jieyang stood beside Wen Di, crouching down so his tall frame could look up at the person before him, lowering his posture to lull others into letting their guard down.

He looked so well-behaved, his handsome face making one’s heart soften. He didn’t even try to hold Wen Di’s hand hidden beneath the cloak, only carefully tugging at a corner of his cloak.

He said softly, “Wen Wen, tell me, please. You don’t actually love that short-lived ex-husband of yours at all, right?”

Wen Di was momentarily stunned by the tenderness in his eyes.

Before he could react, Liu Yajun rushed over and covered Lu Jieyang’s mouth.

He protested, “Wait, wait! His question doesn’t count! It doesn’t count!”

Lu Jieyang frowned and pulled Liu Yajun’s hand away. “Are you crazy?! What’s it to you?”

Liu Yajun snapped, “You’re the crazy one! I think you’re seriously out of your mind! What do you mean by asking that question?? Don’t tell me you actually want to stay here and date this NPC?”

Lu Jieyang was half a head taller than Liu Yajun, his sharp eyes looking down at him from above. “What if I do?”

Everyone couldn’t help but be taken aback.

Wen Di snapped back to reality, standing up to interrupt them. “Once a question is asked, it can’t be taken back.”

Lu Jieyang looked at him again, full of anticipation.

Wen Di tilted his bright, round eyes, like a proud yet adorable kitten, but spoke words that stabbed straight to the heart: “Are you an idiot? Of course I love my husband. Otherwise, why would I stay here? I thought you all knew that.”

Of course, perhaps only Lu Jieyang felt stabbed by those words.

“What a pity, wasting a question like that,” Wen Di said regretfully.

Liu Yajun angrily grabbed Lu Jieyang by the collar, raising his fist to punch him in the face, but was easily caught.

Liu Yajun looked up in shock, meeting Lu Jieyang’s mischievous, dark, and bottomless eyes, like an abyss.

Instantly, a chill ran down his spine.

Lu Jieyang expressionlessly pushed him away.

After calming down for a moment, he turned back to Wen Di, reverting to his usual carefree, unserious demeanor. Smiling, he leaned in close, like an obedient dog: “Looks like I’ll have to work harder to earn a place in Wen Wen’s heart.”

Wen Di’s ears felt a bit warm, feeling rather uncomfortable with his attentiveness. Unwilling to entertain his nonsense, she could only shift her focus elsewhere.
