As for Guan Sui, he remained completely unperturbed from beginning to end. He must have known the door was double-locked, and the reason he hadn’t given any warning was definitely due to an Alpha’s malicious sense of humor, wanting to see his flustered side.

An illicit affair.

That was the only way it could be interesting.Full novel: The Top Alpha’s White Moonlight Remains Silent, Kissing the Substitute B to Tears — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Anyway, Guan Sui didn’t fear falling out with Zhao Mingzhuo at all.

Yet Wen Song believed he was just an ordinary, unremarkable Beta. It was practically impossible for two top-tier Alpha crown princes with high status in Suicheng to fight over him.

The Alpha right before his eyes was simply an untamable, wild hound.

Uncontrolled.

Uncontrollable.

The person he least wanted to provoke was the one he had ended up sleeping with last night due to a miscalculation.

Wen Song heard Zhao Mingzhuo still knocking on the door, calling out to Guan Sui as he knocked, “Ah Sui, are you awake? Did you see Wen Song last night?”

Guan Sui’s brow furrowed from the noise, and just as he took two steps, Wen Song called out to him.

“Wait.”

Guan Sui turned his head, narrowing his eyes as he stared at him, as if silently asking what was the matter.

Wen Song didn’t know what to say that would be appropriate.

After hastily muttering “It’s nothing,” he hurriedly pulled the cover over his head, playing dead to avoid Zhao Mingzhuo outside.

Although they were only in a cooperative relationship, on the surface, they were still a couple. If news leaked out that he had hooked up with the other man’s sworn brother, it would inevitably make the Alpha feel that he had lost face.

Watching Wen Song wrap himself up like a cicada cocoon, Guan Sui wore a trace of an imperceptible smile at the corners of his lips.

He walked up to the door, opened it, and cracked it an open sliver.

Seeing the door open, Zhao Mingzhuo, who had been about to give up, smiled in surprise and said, “So you were inside the room. I thought you had already left, I knocked for a long time and didn’t see you open the door.”

With that, his gaze landed on the marks on Guan Sui’s collarbone. He couldn’t help but gasp, pointing a finger at his own collarbone as a flash of emotion crossed his eyes, as if he had discovered some heaven-shaking secret.

His gaze uncontrollably peeked into the room as he said in an exaggerated tone:

“No way, Guan Sui, did something happen with you last night, kid?”

“Don’t you never like Omegas? No, wait, it’s not that you don’t like Omegas. You don’t like Alphas, Omegas, or Betas either. Tsk, did your rut spin out of control last night?”

Zhao Mingzhuo looked genuinely concerned and curious about what had happened to Guan Sui last night.

Because Guan Sui was different from the rest of their crowd; when he went out to play, he never brought an Omega along. Even though his status as a capitalist meant many people threw themselves at him for a bit of power, he always remained single and avoided excessive contact with others.

Of course, Guan Sui wasn’t the only one in their circle like that.

It was just that Guan Sui was much more abrupt, possessing a degree of germophobia so extreme that he couldn’t even be bothered to put on a show for the sake of appearances.

“Who is it?” Zhao Mingzhuo was still curious about what divine being had so easily dragged Guan Sui off his pedestal when he had never cared for anyone. His peripheral vision kept glancing into the room, where he could only see a protruding lump in the blankets proving someone was inside.

Guan Sui’s malicious streak multiplied infinitely.

He desperately wanted to say: “Your boyfriend.”

Since Zhao Mingzhuo didn’t know how to cherish him properly when cheating, then he would step in to take care of him instead, and the other man should naturally express gratitude.

“You know him,” Guan Sui finally uttered those words.

His peripheral vision caught Wen Song, cowering and not daring to move beneath the blankets, seeming to shrink back at those three words.

Zhao Mingzhuo gasped once more, rubbed his chin, and asked, “Who is it? Which family’s Omega?”

As he spoke, he twitched his nose slightly, sniffing only the rich, lingering scent of Guan Sui’s Alpha tequila pheromones. As for any Omega pheromones, not a single trace lingered in the room.

Not an Omega.

With no entangling pheromones, it seemed to be a Beta.

Considering Guan Sui’s special status, he would never let an undisclosed relationship easily conceive his child.

So a Beta was the best choice.

Yet Betas were far too bland; only Omegas possessed true compatibility and adaptation with Alphas.

“He’s shy,” Guan Sui said.

“You’ll find out later.”

Seeing that Guan Sui kept his security so tight, Zhao Mingzhuo stopped prying into the other’s private matters.

Just as he was about to leave, as if remembering something, he asked another question: “By the way, did you see Wen Song last night? He’s my boyfriend, the one you drove back to Silver Lake Mansion last time.”

Guan Sui curled his lips, resting a hand against the doorframe.

An Alpha’s perception was extremely sharp, and he heard the Beta hiding in bed in terror stir again.

He guessed the other person was currently playing dead, praying to the heavens that he wouldn’t spill the beans.

Unfortunately,

“I’ve seen him,” Guan Sui’s malicious thought flared up.

Wen Song, lying in bed wrapped tightly in the quilt, stiffened all over, his heart leaping into his throat. He was terrified that this wild, untamed crown prince would spill everything about last night right then and there. If that happened, he figured Zhao Mingzhuo would instantly go berserk.

Even if their relationship was just a transaction, an Alpha’s possessiveness was a terrifying thing.

A sense of immorality tore crazily through his heart as Wen Song held his breath, quietly listening to what Guan Sui would say next.

Zhao Mingzhuo asked, “Where did you see him?”

“He said he wasn’t feeling well last night and went back to rest early, but when I went to his room this morning, I didn’t see anyone.”

“He didn’t send me a message either.”

Guan Sui’s gaze glanced at the lump on the bed.

“I don’t know.”

“Saw him yesterday, no idea after that.”

Hearing Guan Sui’s answer, Wen Song finally exhaled in relief, much like someone drowning who had held their breath past the tipping point, finally breaking the surface to gasp in fresh air and save a failing heartbeat.

Zhao Mingzhuo nodded. “I’ll go give him another call and ask.”

Then, making a face and lifting his chin to gesture toward the room with a teasing smile on his lips, he added, “It’s still early, so I won’t disturb you for now.”

Guan Sui uttered a single “Mn,” then closed the door.

He didn’t know that the moment the door clicked shut, the smile on Zhao Mingzhuo’s face vanished without a trace.

Hearing the door close, Wen Song felt a lingering sense of surviving a disaster. The blankets were thick with the scent of Alpha pheromones.

As expected.

Being too special had its drawbacks either.

To think a Beta could actually pick up on such intense pheromone scents.

Everything that had happened last night played in his mind in slow-motion, frame by frame, like a movie reel.

“Are you planning to stay hidden under that blanket forever?” Guan Sui strolled over to the side of the bed, whipped back the covers, and looked down at Wen Song, whose face was flushed red from lack of air. “Are you feeling guilty toward Zhao Mingzhuo because you slept with me, and trying to die of asphyxiation as punishment?”

“You actually have quite a bit of attachment to him, don’t you?”

Wen Song: “…”

No wonder everyone said Guan Sui had a venomous tongue.

It was entirely true.

He was clearly just hiding under the covers because he wasn’t wearing any clothes and wanted to avoid Zhao Mingzhuo.

“Can you look away?” Wen Song propped himself up on the bed, sitting up while clutching the duvet, and said, “I want to get dressed.”

Guan Sui looked Wen Song up and down, raising an eyelid and speaking in a leisurely tone, “Is there any part of your body I haven’t seen?”

“Not only have I seen it, I’ve touched it, kissed it.”

Wen Song couldn’t bear to hear even a shred of vulgar, suggestive speech. The image he had initially held of Guan Sui being cold, aloof, and sparing with his words completely collapsed in his heart, with two new labels added: sharp-tongued and malignant.

“Shut your mouth.” He immediately cut off Guan Sui’s speech.
