Raoul POV Just as the bell for lunch rang, Akeno walked into our classroom with a smile.
Issei’s two perverted friends, as well as a bespectacled girl, started to cheer about how one of the Great Ladies of Kuoh was there.
Surprisingly, Issei was silent as he stared at her, clenching his fists in frustration.
You feel weak too, huh?
“I’m looking for Issei Hyoudou, as well as Raoul Kurokaze,” she said gently.
Issei’s two perverted friends lost it and started complaining and insulting us both.
Well, those idiots were on a fast track to being arrested, so whatever.
No skin off my back if they didn’t like me.
I nodded and got up, glancing at Koneko, who had a worried look on her face as we all left the room.
— We walked into the Occult Research Club room silently.
Rias wasn’t there.
She was showering.
Was she going to attempt to seduce him?
Guess she hadn’t given up on getting Issei into her peerage.
“One moment.
I’ll be back with tea.” After Akeno left, the room was awkwardly silent before Issei grumbled.
“Fine…
Hey, you damn handsome—ugh.
I mean Raoul.” I raised an eyebrow.
“Yes?” He paused for a moment before asking quietly.
“So you’re involved in this too, huh?
Are you a devil like them?” His voice was slightly strained.
He sounded irritated, and I didn’t blame him.
“No,” I said, meeting his eyes.
“I am a human with ties to dragons.
Just like yourself.” Issei’s eyes widened.
“I see,” he muttered.
The room fell quiet once more before Koneko asked me quietly if I was injured.
She was not too happy to hear that I had been stabbed in the shoulder.
She was visibly relieved that I was otherwise okay.
“So there were two fallen attacks last night…” Great.
— Akeno returned with tea, followed by Rias, who was fresh out of the shower and still wrapped in a towel.
Guess I was right.
Out of the corner of my eye, I glanced at Issei, but surprisingly, he was gritting his teeth.
“I am not becoming a devil,” he essentially growled as he touched his bandaged eye.
“I have talked to the Welsh Dragon.
He isn’t happy.” The room was silent before Rias sighed.
“Okay…” she whispered.
It was clear she hadn’t given up.
I took a sip of my tea and placed it on the plate firmly.
Mmmm.
Jasmine tea.
“I was attacked by a single fallen around twenty minutes from my home.
I escaped to somewhere private and safe, but I was injured,” I said firmly.
“It’s my own fault for being weak,” I continued.
“But this is your turf.
Why are there rogue fallen in the area?” The room was silent.
It was obvious I was annoyed.
I clicked my tongue.
“Well, it’s not really your fault.
Both he and I basically have draconic aura pouring off of us.” “That doesn’t excuse it,” Rias said firmly.
“I will contact my brother.” I nodded.
“Please give me a contract flyer, Koneko,” I said as I turned to the only one in the room I trusted.
“I need to be tutored on the supernatural.” I also needed to talk to the Elder about using that transfer ticket.
But Great Red basically knew everything because of my dreams.
Annoying.
What a fucking Domain.
“Sure,” she said with a small smile.
— By the time I got to Ryozanpaku, I had calmed down a bit.
I didn’t even bother heading home.
It wasn’t safe right now.
When I arrived, I opened the massive wooden doors.
It was easier than usual despite the sting in my shoulder.
Actually, that should have hurt a lot more, huh?
Well.
I guess I would have the bandage changed and talk to the Elder.
I quietly headed toward the infirmary.
I didn’t notice Issei watching from nearby with a frown.
— Rias POV I fucked up.
Like, really badly.
Why did I think it would be a good idea to let Issei get attacked before revealing the supernatural to him?
Am I really that shitty of a person?
Just to awaken his Sacred Gear, I decided to manipulate him because he was weak.
Because I wanted him.
Because I needed his power.
I’m so disappointed with myself.
I wonder if the rest of my peerage is too…
I was surprised at Raoul’s calmness in comparison.
It was obvious he was just as pissed off.
I probably should have had Koneko warn him, but I didn’t really think about it.
I guess this is why Grayfia tells me I need to grow up and always smacks my brother in the head when he’s acting like a sis-con.
Now I have two dragons pissed off at me.
Great.
— Raoul POV “So you would like to ask permission from Great Red to disturb the dimensional boundaries,” the Elder said quietly.
He looked at me, holding eye contact.
“I’ll ask.
Due to his Domain, he already knows what you want to ask.
If he hasn’t interfered yet, it should most likely be okay.
But I’ll still ask for you.” The Elder barked out a laugh.
“Even I don’t want to mess with that dragon.” I felt bad.
Not because I was lying exactly.
I just wasn’t telling him the whole truth.
Which sounded like lying with extra steps.
Apparently, it showed on my face because the Elder patted my shoulder gently and gave me a kind smile.
“Wait until you’re ready.” He vanished with a flicker.
What a nice guy.
I couldn’t help but smile as I rotated my arm.
Magic medicine sure was neat.
My shoulder wound was almost healed despite the severity of it.
I was shocked to see that the skin was no longer broken.
It was just sore.
I guess I would be ready to go once the Elder returned.
Not immediately.
Probably.
Maybe.
This world had a high power ceiling.
A really, really high one.
The ticket said it would send me to a low-power ceiling world.
But I had no clue how I was going to have an identity or anything when I got there.
Hopefully that world didn’t have gods like this one.
Whatever.
That was future Raoul’s problem.
