What a weird sensation.

People who didn’t usually greet me did so like it was a normal thing as I entered the classroom.

The three perverts complained that it wasn’t a hot girl who came into the room, but instead an ikemen.Full novel: The Transcending System — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Pretty sure I heard a slur for foreigners in there, but I’ll ignore that.

I was still half-Japanese, apparently.

My European name and Japanese surname.

Whatever.

As I sat down, I glanced out the window and saw a girl with red hair standing on the roof beside a petite girl with silver hair and a catlike posture, both glancing down into the room.

I just looked away.

They were probably dealing with Issei and his Sacred Gear thing.

None of my business.

— Koneko POV “Sona was right.

I never noticed him before,” Rias mumbled as she glanced into the classroom they had been spying on.

“Me either,” I mumbled.

And he was in my classroom, apparently?

Why had I never noticed him?

His scent was very clean.

Very…

fresh?

Pure?

Gross.

I hated that I thought of people by scent.

At least he smelled better than that perverted, lust-filled idiot Rias was making me spy on.

“Keep an eye on him, Koneko,” Rias said, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

Oh dear.

My King had found something interesting.

And now I had to watch it.

— Raoul POV Class rolled by smoothly.

Nothing really stood out.

I found world history pretty interesting with my newfound knowledge that some, if not all, supernatural myths were true to some degree.

The petite, silver-haired girl I had seen on the roof glanced at me a few times.

Did she notice something strange too?

She was a youkai of some kind, right?

When I said I saw the Plot of the world, it was more like I saw the shape of the world’s current trajectory.

I knew that this Koneko Toujou, the school’s mascot idol, was involved in the supernatural in some way.

The world had already begun to diverge.

What I saw didn’t matter anymore.

It gave me a little bit of a head start.

But my actions were what mattered now.

— [Quest Log Updated.] Decision Recorded: Stop treating canon knowledge as certainty.

Reward: Soul Integrity +0.10% 1x Fate Stealing Card — Neat.

Fate Stealing Card.

I didn’t need to guess what this was for.

I didn’t know if I could do it, though.

I was trying to prove my existence by taking someone else’s fate?

Would that make the person whose fate I stole no longer exist?

[Host, the Fate Stealing Card does not steal someone’s existence.] [It may be more accurate to call it a Fate Switching Card.] I glanced at Issei out of the corner of my eye as the teacher began wrapping up class.

What would happen if I used it on him?

[Issei is a fictional existence, like Host.

However, he is not aware like Host.] [His fate was written into him, just as Host’s lack of fate was written into Host.] The card appeared in my hand before I knew it.

It looked like a plain piece of paper, but it felt heavy.

[Warning: Fate alteration creates karmic debt.] [The System advises caution.] Great.

I slipped the card into my inner breast pocket with a sigh.

I needed a big lunch.

— I sat on the roof, eating my lunch on a bench while glancing off toward the horizon.

Ahh.

City smog.

At least it wasn’t Tokyo.

Ignore the silver-haired girl two benches away.

She wasn’t there.

Let’s listen to music on my phone!

Oh, wait.

I didn’t have headphones.

Then maybe I could try some talisman crafting?

I could just say it was calligraphic art if someone asked.

Not that anyone would.

Because there wasn’t a silver-haired girl only one bench away, staring at my curry bread.

“Would you like this?” I asked awkwardly, raising the curry bread in her direction as she stared at my hands.

“Yes.” She blinked and blushed.

“I mean, yes please.

Thank you.” Huh.

Cute.

Like a little cat.

“Here.

Enjoy.” “Thank you,” she mumbled, taking tiny bites out of the bread.

“I was really bummed I didn’t manage to pick any up today.” [Decision Recorded: Shared food with Koneko Toujou.] [Minor Bond Established.] I think she forgot that she was supposed to be spying on me.

I glanced at her for a moment.

Soft white hair.

Sharp yellow eyes.

Tiny, deadpan presence.

I could see why people called her the school idol mascot.

“Don’t call me that,” she said suddenly.

Whoops.

“I didn’t say that out loud.” “You looked like you were thinking it.” Well shit, someone is sharp!

“Sorry.” She took another small bite of curry bread.

“…Thank you for not making it weird.” I don’t know what that means.

“Let’s start over,” I said.

“I’m Raoul.

I sit toward the back.” “I’m Koneko,” she said, munching on the curry bread as a breeze swept her hair gently to the side, revealing her brilliant yellow eyes.

“But yeah.

You sit near the perverts.” “Don’t remind me.” “I don’t have to.” She pointed down.

I looked over the ledge and saw the perverted trio running from a group of girls with wooden shinai.

“How have they not been arrested for sexual harassment?” Koneko just sighed and shook her head.
