“Free and alive?” That was the most important thing here.

She didn’t want them to kill her after they achieved their goal.

Now that she thought about it, this mate bond thing was what had saved her in the first place.Full novel: The Triplet Alphas and their contract Luna — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

By how serious they are about others finding out their identity, it was clear that the only reason they didn’t get rid of her was because she was bound to them through a mate bond.

It was just a guess, but she felt like something bad could happen to them if she ever fell into danger making them think twice before hurting her.

That calmed her down, with them being protective, it was as if she suddenly got free bodyguards.

But then again, Elia never asked for anything like this.

“How can I trust you not to kill me once all of this is over?”

That was a reasonable argument.

Sam would have put forth the same doubts if he were in her position.

“That is what this contract is for, Miss Miller,” He said, picking up the bundle from the table, “It will work as a security insurance for you.”

Elia couldn’t help but laugh at that, “I’m sorry, but that is just paper, Mr. Donovan. You can just tear it up and that’s it. I want more than that to ensure my safety in this place.” He was a wolf for God’s sake.

The man was not at all considering what she, as a human, would feel.

“You humans sure are distrustful,” Eros commented, making her turn to him.

“Well, sorry for not trusting the people who wanted to kill me literally hours ago.”

He frowned.

He didn’t like how she kept mentioning dying.

“Do the blood pact then,” An unfamiliar voice caught Elia’s attention.

She looked towards the door to see a man so tall that she had to stretch her neck to look at his face, and built like a truck entering.

Elia noticed that he had similar features to Samuel and Eros.

She understood that he was the other brother they were talking about.

But only more terrifying looking.

He had shoulder-length greyish hair that screamed wild.

The similarly colored eyes only seemed to increase his fierceness.

He was like a predator on the hunt.

Asheron cast a brief glance at Elia before looking at Sam, “Conduct a blood pact confirming the human’s safety and be done with it, Sam.”

Elia tore her eyes from the ridiculously handsome man and gazed at Sam.

He seemed to be the one in charge here.

“What does Blood Pact mean?”

Sam was angry at his brother for even suggesting this.

This human clearly didn’t know about their kind; they weren’t the ones to go behind other people’s backs like her kind did.

Wolves never forgot their word; they were considered the most trustworthy amongst the supernatural kind.

He then looked at the human. This story is hosted at novelping.com.

She was convinced now, she would never agree to a simple contract anymore.

Without any choice, he agreed, “Alright, let us do it. The blood pact”

The brothers glanced at each other and nodded in agreement while Elia remained confused.

The three came near one another and sliced their palm with a knife, making her eyes go wide.

Then they looked at her expectantly.

What was she supposed to do?

The brothers sighed at her like she was dumb, making her feel irritated, “How will I know about this weird ritual of yours if you don’t tell me?”

Sam stretched the knife at her, “Cut your palm until you see blood.” She was about to argue until he said, “It is necessary for the Blood pact.”

Elia huffed and rolled her eyes, “Fine…” She took the knife and gazed at it before suddenly walking towards the sink, leaving the brothers baffled.

After washing their blood from the knife and thoroughly cleaning it with soap, she returned and held it against her palm.

The trio looked at her like she had grown horns on her head.

“What?” She challenged them, “I don’t want to risk an infection because of cross-contamination.”

Eros scoffed, “Human”

“And you are a Feral man,” Elia countered, “You don’t see me constantly complaining about it” It irked her to no end whenever they mocked her for being a human being.

They were speciesists.

Looking down on her just because she didn’t have claws.

Eros glared at her, making her glare back.

He wouldn’t be able to hurt her, so she was weirdly brave.

She never felt like this before.

Soon, the Blood Pact was completed when Elia was made to press her palm against each of the brothers’ palms.

They reacted weirdly whenever she made contact with them and took their hands away as soon as whatever ritual they had in their minds was completed.

And again, Elia ran towards the sink and washed her hands before returning.

By now, they seemed used to her antics and started to explain, “Now that the blood pact is done, you have nothing to fear from us. We will keep you safe as long as you remain in our pack and will not kill you once our contract ends”

Elia sighed in relief.

She wanted to ask if this was enough, just to make sure, but decided otherwise when she saw the warning look in Samuel’s eyes.

These wolves tended to take offense when questioned about their honor.

“Is it done?” She asked when she put the last sign on the contract, they said it was not needed after the blood pact, but this was just for her peace of mind.

Having legal documents was never wrong.

It had taken her quite some time to go through every point in the contract.

It mainly consisted of a non-disclosure clause, together with her promise not to overstay after the six-month mark, not to develop a close relationship with the brothers, and that too with Asheron in particular.

Elia stepped towards Samuel, showing the last clause, “Why is this mentioned? I thought I wouldn’t have to interact with any of you.”

He took the bundle from her and glanced at Alyn, “Treat her.” Their injuries were mostly healed, unlike hers.

It showed how weak she was.

Once again, he felt sure about his decision.

And back to her question, “It’s because you will spend time with Ash”

Elia was taken aback.

She glanced at Asheron lounging on the couch before turning back to Sam, “Why would I….I mean why should I?” Weren’t all of them going to search for mates?

Why would he spend time with her?

This came out of nowhere.

As though reading her mind, he dropped a bomb, “Asheron will not be choosing a mate, only I and Eros will.”

“But you said…?”

“We are triplets, we have the same woman as a mate, you. It’s safe to assume that he will be covered if I and Ros take a chosen mate. Our only goal here is to dissolve the thing between you and us. With odds against him, I believe Ash, too, will stop recognizing you as his mate”

Elia couldn’t help but say, “You sure believe too many things without any prior result. What if your calculations go wrong?”

“My calculations never go wrong,” Sam shrugged, “And this? This is not even an advanced calculation; it’s just going through probability until we get the result.”

“The result that you want,” Elia finished.

His ego was as high as Mount Everest.

Samuel sat beside his brothers, “It is a risk we are willing to take.”

“Why take a risk in the first place?” Elia flailed her hand, sitting opposite them, “I mean, just choose three wolf women and complete that thing. Follow my advice and you will have a 100% result.”

”This is our decision to make, Miss Miller.

I don’t appreciate your input in this matter.” That cut like a sharp sword.

He was clearly drawing a line between them.

“Alright” Elia reclined in her seat, “But do tell me why I must spend time with him” She pointed at Asheron, who was looking at her like he was going to eat her.

Eros took a sip of his scotch.

They had quickly made this medical room their own space.

“We can’t have a human in our pack for six months without a proper reason. People ask questions.”

“So?”

“So you will be formally introduced as Asheron’s mate and only his,” Sam said, “The news of a wolf recognizing a human as his mate has already spread throughout the pack. Instead of hiding it completely, we have decided to mix the truth with a lie to make it more believable.”

“But why him?” She couldn’t understand that, no matter how much she thought about it.

She suddenly pointed at Alyn, “I can pose as his mate.” Then she looked at Liam, “Or his. Why should I….” Before she could finish her words, she heard three loud growls.

Eros had pounced on Alyn while Asheron’s hand clutched Liam’s collar as he rained punches on him.

They were like wild beasts out of control.

Elia urgently glanced at Samuel to see him gripping the broken scotch glass in his hand so hard that he bled.

His eyes were filled with turmoil as he looked up at her.

It was like he was asking if she understood his reason for choosing one of his brothers instead of others.
