Without any hesitation, Chi Qiyan spun around and quickly covered Beisi’s eyes with his hand, distinctly sensing the other person’s eyelashes gently sweeping across his palm.
He hurriedly made up an excuse: “I look too disheveled right now…”
His whole body burned with agonizing pain, making these few words sound as though they were forced out from the back of his throat, hoarse and low.
Beisi raised his hand slightly and gripped his wrist bone. The temperature was searingly intense, and that pulse was beating vividly, enough to demonstrate the owner’s panic. Yet Beisi still didn’t let go, saying, “Alright, I won’t look.”
No matter what he looked like, he wouldn’t mind. But knowing Chi Qiyan cared, he wouldn’t force the matter.
Hearing this, Chi Qiyan finally let out a breath of relief, though the air he exhaled was scorching hot.
No longer feeling the tickle against his palm, he tremblingly withdrew his hand. However, due to his impulsive movement and a momentary lapse in attention, his foot slipped. The stone was slick, and he plunged straight into the stream beside them.
The stream was crystal clear; it looked shallow, but it was actually quite deep, submerging Chi Qiyan up to his chest.
Icy water soaked his entire body, and the splashing water moistened his long hair, droplets dripping continuously from his tips.
A survival instinct made Chi Qiyan instinctively thrash about, and a thud came from behind as the other person pulled him into an embrace. Unlike before, his own body was overly hot, making the temperature of the person behind him contrastingly feel like a block of ice.
Chi Qiyan greedily craved this bit of coolness and couldn’t help pressing closer into the other’s arms. Then, seeming to remember something, he tried to break away, burying his face in the water.
Yet this time, the person behind him showed unusual firmness, clasping him tightly in his arms so they pressed closely together, seamless and tight. He gently rested his cheek against Chi Qiyan’s hair and pressed a tender kiss to his strands.
Chi Qiyan felt his hair being lightly touched. At this moment, his hair had completely turned white, as pure and clean as snow, while the flowing water running downward entangled the person behind him with his hair ends.
He turned his head slightly and saw, sure enough, that Beisi still had his eyes closed, keeping his promise, holding him quietly just like that without saying a word.
The heat in his body was subsiding, approaching a normal person’s body temperature. Looking at Beisi’s face, a voice in his heart called out to him, and finally obeying his inner desires, he raised his head and offered his own kiss, brushing lightly across the other’s thin lips without carrying a shred of lust.
Instead, the other supported his face, preventing him from successfully escaping, and captured his lips in return. Chi Qiyan parted his tightly clenched teeth; his lower lip had been unconsciously bitten until it bled, and the other gently brushed across the injured lip, breached his lips, and claimed territory within his mouth.
This kiss tasted of blood.
Once the eyes are closed, all other senses become infinitely magnified.
Chi Qiyan’s lips were soft and tender, easily molding into various shapes. His body was染上 (dyed) with the fresh and delicate fragrance of Aiyou grass faint, translucent, and refreshing to the core.
All the organs in his body trembled fiercely because of this deep kiss. This was the first time Chi Qiyan had intimate contact with Beisi in this appearance.
The air in their mouths was nearly plundered clean.
When the kiss finally ended, Chi Qiyan took a deep breath, only to discover that his hair had turned back to black, the Aiyou grass was fully digested, and he had changed back.
Beisi was still obediently keeping his eyes closed. Chi Qiyan bit his lip and smiled, suddenly growing a bit mischievous. He turned around so they were face-to-face, rested both hands on the other’s shoulders, hooked his arms around the other’s neck, intertwined their breathing, stood on his tiptoes, and kissed the other’s eyes.
The kiss brushed lightly across like a feather, leaving behind a trace of warmth.
Chi Qiyan deliberately lowered his voice, making it alluring and captivating as he said, “Open your eyes and look at me…”
Only then did Beisi open his eyes. That gaze was exceptionally dark and surging, as if he wanted to swallow him whole, mixed with a hint of desire.
Chi Qiyan’s clothes were completely soaked, clinging to his body and outlining his slender figure. His porcelain-white skin looked crystal-clear against the backdrop of the shimmering moonlight, his black hair brushed against Beisi’s fingertips, and those pretty eyes, washed clean by the water, were as cute as a lost little deer.
“It just so happens to be a mandarin duck bath…” Chi Qiyan, courting death, playfully teased Beisi.
Then, the rest of his words choked in his throat. Was he… playing too hard?
This, this thing…
The flush that had managed to cool down rose back up again. He perceived something pressing against him, acting wildly and aggressively.
He was very familiar with this thing; after all, he had tasted its formidable power many times. He discovered that this person acted like a madman toward things he adored. If not for the consideration that he possessed a “mortal” body, he probably really would have been loved to death in bed. But inexplicably, when facing Beisi, how could his body fail to endure even this?
Chi Qiyan didn’t dare to move around much now. Could it really happen right here?
In truth, he actually felt just a tiny, tiny bit of expectation.
Beisi, however, exercised considerable restraint as he took a step back and asked with concern, “Is there any discomfort now?”
“None.” Chi Qiyan felt his whole body flowing smoothly, feeling comfortable in a way he never had before.
His temperature was no longer freezing, having turned into a normal person’s body temperature, which instead made him feel a bit unaccustomed.
“Let’s get ashore first; it’s easy to catch a cold in the water.” Beisi lifted Chi Qiyan and helped him ashore, while staying in the water himself for a moment longer.
Naturally, Chi Qiyan wouldn’t ask knowingly why he wasn’t coming up. He took the clothes Beisi retrieved from his storage ring.
He wasn’t shy at all; right there on the bank, he shed his outer robe, followed by his inner garments. Beisi glanced over once and immediately looked away, but his fluttering eyelashes had already betrayed his inner thoughts.
In a short while, Chi Qiyan had changed into his clothes exquisite and embroidered, making him look like a noble young master, proud and refined.
Only then did Beisi come ashore, his expression unchanged as if nothing had happened, calmly turning his back to Chi Qiyan to change his clothes. Their matching elements made them look as perfectly matched as a pair of jade statues.
Beisi walked over to Chi Qiyan and leaned against a tree.
“Qiqi, do you want to go to the Kunhan Sect?” Beisi asked. The Kunhan Sect was the number one sect in the world, and he had the confidence to let Chi Qiyan pass the selection.
He had actually thought about the storyteller’s words long ago. He had previously tried teaching Chi Qiyan spellcraft, but Chi Qiyan always refused him, complaining of pain or fatigue. Whenever Chi Qiyan looked at him with those watery eyes, he simply couldn’t bring himself to force the matter.
Yet a mortal only had a lifespan of a hundred years. Even if he exhausted all spiritual elixirs, he could only extend it by two hundred years—that time was far too short, far from enough. He wanted much longer, much longer.
Chi Qiyan unusually avoided Beisi’s gaze. He didn’t know whether eating that Aiyou grass could hide his magical power; he hadn’t tried it yet, but he also knew that cultivating the righteous path was the only way to brazenly stay side-by-side with Beisi for a long, long time.
Vaguely, he replied, “Practicing spellcraft is very tiring, and it hurts, but… I don’t want to drag you down.”
Beisi rubbed his head, disagreeing as he said, “You are never a burden. When I am around, you will never get hurt.”
If the skills one learned couldn’t protect the person one loved, that was what truly constituted being a burden a burden that prevented you from receiving sufficient protection.
Chi Qiyan responded softly, then pretended to yawn, narrowing his eyes and muttering drowsily, “I’m a little sleepy…”
Beisi lowered his shoulder, letting Chi Qiyan lean against it. Looking at the other’s quiet sleeping face, his heart felt warm, and he followed suit by squinting his eyes to catnap.
In reality, Chi Qiyan wasn’t sleeping; instead, he was guiding his own meridians. His previous Dantian had been pitch-black and red, radiating evil Qi, but now upon looking, it was a pure, immaculate white. A shrunken toddler of about two years old drifted obediently in the air it was simply a toddler version of himself. He felt a rare surge of novelty.
This was a primordial soul; he had never possessed one before. Therefore, even if he used evil sorcery in front of others, no one would easily recognize his true identity.
With a thought, he poked the little figure. The little figure was poked into an angry huff, its cheeks slightly puffed up, and its lips puckered so much they could hang an oil lamp.
Quite interesting.
Chi Qiyan wanted to tease it further when the little figure flew out of his Dantian and headed toward Beisi.
His brow twitched, and he called out to the little figure, but couldn’t recall it. Just as he wanted to pinch and fish the little figure back,
he saw a little figure slip out from Beisi’s side as well. It was tiny, its chubby baby face maintaining a serious straight expression; even though its face was soft and plump, one could still tell how superior its facial features were, except that it looked inexplicably a bit different from Beisi’s face.
Boys change eighteen times before they grow up; that was normal.
The little Qiyan drifted over to the side of the little Beisi. The little Beisi dotingly smoothed down his hair, and visibly, the little Qiyan became happy; the tufts of hair that Chi Qiyan had poked into a pout smoothed right down.
Chi Qiyan was amused too and wanted to poke the little Beisi’s chubby cheek. The other’s two tiny hands could barely manage to grasp one of his index fingers. The little Beisi lowered his head and solemnly kissed his finger, the sensation feeling as real as if it were happening physically, leaving his hand frozen right there.
Then, he looked up and met Beisi’s opened eyes. The other said nothing, while the little Beisi proactively pressed his index finger against his own chubby cheek, signaling for the other to poke.
“Poke.” Beisi said it just like that, so flatly.
Chi Qiyan subconsciously followed what he said and poked the little Beisi’s chubby cheek it was very soft and comfortable, unlike his cold, stiff expression.
Chi Qiyan poked it twice and stopped moving. He didn’t know what was going on with this primordial soul; how could it come out on its own? Did everyone who practiced righteous cultivation spells have one?
He didn’t speak up first.
Fortunately, Beisi spoke first: “This is a primordial soul, sharing the same sensations and perceptions as its master. Controlling your consciousness allows you to attach yourself to the primordial soul.”
Chi Qiyan recalled the sensation just now does poking the little Beisi’s cheek equate to poking Beisi’s cheek? And Beisi knew, yet still let him poke…
“Most people don’t have a primordial soul…”
Chi Qiyan’s hand moved slightly, listening as the explanation continued.
“But with formidable talent and good fortune, one can have it.” Beisi held no doubts whatsoever; in his eyes, Chi Qiyan was precisely such a person. “It can represent the master’s true innermost thoughts.”
Chi Qiyan saw the little Qiyan’s tiny actions and little expressions, and his heart skipped a beat.
The little Qiyan flew around chaotically in the air, messing up his own hair again. The little Beisi helplessly smoothed down his hair for him once more, and then the little Qiyan happily pressed his face close, planting two ba-ji kisses right on the little Beisi’s face.
Chi Qiyan felt that he had truly relaxed his guard too early.
