“Alright!” Yang Lu felt a wave of satisfaction wash over him as the system’s voice echoed in his mind.
Another mission completed, earning him a solid 600 villain points.
It wasn’t a huge amount, but then again, the scene had been relatively low-key. The smaller the audience, the smaller the reward. Still, for someone like Song Weiwei, the third female lead, it was more than enough.
“This is my number,” he said, handing her a business card. “Stay here and take care of your brother. I’ll cover all medical and living expenses, so you don’t need to worry about money. If anyone gives you trouble, call me immediately. Understood?”
As Yang Lu and his driver headed for the exit, Song Weiwei clutched the card, watching him walk away. Her heart pounded as she inwardly thanked him, “Thank you, Young Master Yang. No matter what, I, Song Weiwei, will do anything you ask from now on!”
She tightened her grip on the card, feeling it was no exaggeration to say that Yang Lu had changed her life. She had no idea why he had chosen to help her, but she was endlessly grateful. She vowed to follow any command he gave, even if it cost her everything. Not only had he saved her family, but he had also restored her dignity.
“Master, forgive me, but why are you helping her?” the driver finally asked, curiosity getting the better of him. He didn’t see Yang Lu as the kind of person to help others without reason, especially not to go out of his way. If he wanted to do good, he could just donate to the Red Cross.
Yang Lu leaned back in his seat, smiling. “You wouldn’t understand. She’s an important part of my next move—a very valuable piece on the board.”
And that was all he said. Even if he explained further, the driver wouldn’t get it. Song Weiwei was the third female lead for a reason. In the novel, she was a financial genius. Later in the plot, she would run Zhao Ritian’s company with exceptional skill, mastering fund management and turning it into a goldmine. She was his financial backbone.
Having her on his side now meant that one day, he could control Zhao Ritian’s entire company. Things were about to get interesting.
With this in mind, Yang Lu mentally nudged the system, “Alright, system, let’s draw again. I’m ready for some more surprises.” Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.
[Ding! Congratulations, Host! You’ve unlocked the Fifth Level of the Nine Yang Divine Art!]
Yang Lu grinned as he felt a rush of energy flow through his hands.
At the fifth level of Nine Yang Divine Art, he could now sense energy circulating in his palms. With this power, he could easily defeat masters who were previously untouchable.
Unfortunately, the protagonist had plot armor, so he couldn’t eliminate him yet. Otherwise, he would’ve dealt with him right away.
[Ding! Congratulations, Host! You’ve acquired a Supreme Revival Pill. With even a single breath, the user can be saved from the brink of death.]
Yang Lu chuckled. As a child, he’d often fantasized about having a Supreme Revival Pill. Now he had one in real life. With this, he practically had an extra life. Not that he really needed it—few people could challenge him now.
“Let’s keep going!” The first two rewards were satisfying enough, but he was curious to see what the third draw would bring. He had a feeling this one would be something special.
The large wheel spun again, faster this time, and Yang Lu’s anticipation grew. His instincts told him that this time, he was going to get something truly exceptional.
“Wow, that’s incredible!” Yang Lu hadn’t expected such a powerful result. The system had told him this item was divided into six pieces, and now he had five. He was just one step away from unlocking whatever this mystery item was.
As if reading his mind, the system spoke up, [Would you like to spend 1,000 villain points to learn what the special item is?]
“Thanks, but no thanks!” Yang Lu replied without a second thought. He knew this system too well. Why spend all those points just to learn the item’s name? It wasn’t worth it. Whether he knew its identity or not, he still needed the last fragment to complete it, so he might as well save his points.
SCREECH!
“Watch where you’re going!” the driver yelled, slamming on the brakes and coming to an abrupt halt.
Yang Lu looked up, surprised, and saw a man crossing the street against the light. But when he took a closer look, his shock turned into amusement.
“Well, well… it’s Ye Fan, the genius doctor, and the second protagonist!” Yang Lu chuckled.
What were the odds? It seemed fate had brought them together.
Ye Fan shot an angry glance at the car and then dashed into a nearby park, clearly in a hurry. Yang Lu smirked, realizing the guy was up to something shady.
He leaned forward and told his driver, “Pull over here, and take the rest of the day off. Oh, and don’t drive home—grab a cab. Trust me, you’ll thank me later!”
