A small goal formed in her mind.

Early the next morning, Juno sprang into action.

She went to the nearest lottery station and bought a stack of scratch-off tickets.Full novel: The Villainess Refuses the Scripts — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Just as the system had promised, her luck was off the charts.

She won on every single ticket she scratched.

Regardless of the amount, it was as if she held all the winning tickets in the entire station in her hands.

After scratching about thirty tickets, Juno swept every prize available, netting over six hundred thousand dollars!

This drew a massive crowd, with everyone in the station and even passersby gathering to watch.

By her thirty-seventh ticket, the lottery station owner looked ready to drop to his knees and beg this incredibly lucky girl to spare him.

Juno had bought forty tickets in total.

After finishing the last three, she slung a sack full of cash over her shoulder and left.

For a delicate little girl to carry a sack of dollars and swagger down the street without a hint of fear was quite a sight.

Instead of looking vulnerable, she radiated an aura of pure badassery.

All that was missing was a background track blaring, “Invincible, I roam freely, admired by all…”

Fortunately, it was broad daylight, so any would-be thieves lacked the guts to act.

Not that Juno was afraid of them anyway.

She successfully deposited six hundred and eighty thousand dollars into her newly opened bank account.

However, compared to ten billion, this amount didn’t even account for one percent.

She bought fifty scratch-offs and won even more than before.

Afterward, she selected five more “lucky duck” lottery stations across Kyloria.

By the end of the day, her mission progress had finally reached 0.3 percent.

“Host, aren’t you rushing this a bit?

What if you catch the attention of the wrong people?” the system asked.

Juno rolled her eyes and thought, “Nonsense!

How can I not rush?

Winning the lottery isn’t a long-term plan.

If I go back to these stations tomorrow, I’ll be chased out!

I have to rake in as much as I can today!”

The system fell silent.

It turned out The Great Demon King wasn’t entirely reckless after all.

That made way too much sense!

It actually had nothing to say in response.

But what about the remaining 99.7 percent?

The system was a little too afraid to speak up.

By the end of the day, even it realized how much of a pipe dream making ten billion dollars truly was.

An ordinary person winning this many lotteries would have enough to last a lifetime, yet for The Great Demon King…

it was only 0.3 percent.

Truly the work of a ten-thousand-year nemesis.

It was just too damn ruthless!

The system carefully tried to appease her, terrified that if The Great Demon King got upset, she would just throw in the towel and quit.

But they hadn’t spent enough time together for it to fully grasp Juno’s temperament.

She was the type who would either refuse to do something entirely or see it through to the bitter end once she committed.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.

Not long after Juno returned home, she was pondering how to earn that ten billion when someone suddenly knocked on her door.

She opened it to find Jayden Jacobs standing outside in a black dress shirt.

The simple design accentuated his tall, straight figure, while his slightly unbuttoned collar offered a faint glimpse of his collarbones.

“Are you short on money?”

Juno, who had been busy checking him out, was caught off guard by the question.

She blinked her large, round eyes.

“Huh?”

Jayden didn’t waste time with small talk.

He pulled out his phone, scrolled to today’s headline news, and held it up to Juno’s face.

The video featured a young girl wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black combat boots, a black cap, and a black face mask, with a large sack slung over her shoulder.

The secretly recorded footage showed her entering a bank, coming out about half an hour later, and heading to a lottery station where she bought a stack of scratch-offs and won on all of them.

Afterward, she carried the sack back to the bank, made a deposit, and headed to the next lottery station…
